2021 Tesla Model 3 vs 2021 Jaguar I-Pace EV320 Heat Pump Test & Winter Test feat @Bjørn Nyland

Me and Tesla Bjørn drive to the foot of Filefjell to test both the range and efficency of the 2021 Tesla Model 3 and 2021 Jaguar I-Pace EV320. We also camp in the mountains for a few hours to test the heat pumps in these two cars.

The M3 was in Camper Mode, the I-Pace in drive ready.... there is a difference of course
AC was on also, which is taking some energy as well.
Biggest Point:
The M3 had more heat energy to use in the battery by charging faster and preheating the battery (I wrote a detailed comment under Björns Video) and the I-Pace had to use the electric heater as the battery temperature was too low
You can precondition the battery if you plug in the car and set a departure time in the car 4hrs before ... battery will be heated to 20 degrees 😉

Kris, any word if the MY21 still has lane centering (called Steering Assist in Jaguar world) ? MY20 and before definitely had it but there are reports that the MY21 i-Pace dropped the lane centering and only kept the lane keep assist (which corrects only when you go over the lines on the side of the road). Thanks!

Why were the headlights running on the jaguar but the headlights on the Tesla off during a stationary consumption test. No one even questioned that at all. Also, there is no such thing as an ignition on a EV. But we know what you mean.

That's from B-roll shot after we did the test, and not from the actual test. Lights where off in both cars :)

Differece in consumption is mostly because of mass and Cw difference, and both are IN favor of Tesla3.
Camping consumption is not related to mass, but to engineering and invention!

Don't think so, but it doesen't heat the batterey when cold though. So only heat pump running.

The I-pace is heavier vehicle, the consumption cannot be compared to the Tesla 3
