9 Things To Not Waste Your Money On | luxury designer shopping investment items worth buying

- Hi guys, I'm Eileen. In today's video I shared about the 9 things not worth paying for. In the luxury fashion world, we often hear the terms "investment", "classic' and "timeless". Subsequently, the more-is-better mindset often leads to excessive consumerism. For me, the true luxury is financial independence. It's completely fine to enjoy designer shopping, as long as it's not done at the expense of our financial security. I enjoy beautiful and well made luxury pieces, but I don't worship them blindly. In fact, there are a lot of classic items not worth buying for me. Suffice to say, having a very selective mindset has helped me to become a very intentional shopper. I no longer feel the urge to commit to an expensive impulse purchase, whether if it's a Chanel limited edition classic flap, an Hermes Birkin bag, or a Cartier watch. Embracing luxury minimalism has helped me to avoid so many costly regrets, and I recommend everyone to join the journey xx

Thank you for watching this video about the untold truths about luxury shopping, the facts you need to know about expensive brands and consumerism. Hopefully this video will help you figure out what exactly is worth your money, and only make the best purchases for your wardrobe xx Хобби
I have decided to stop visiting shopping stores just for fun. I now prefer to do other things with my husband. This has helped me to saved.
Nothing wrong with visiting.
My husband used to get really bored while I tried on endless outfits and bags lol 🙈
@@chauminh my problem is that I can’t stop myself 😉
As a luxury handbag lover, I really like your channel. I see some people with massive $20,000 unboxing and it's giving us young people the wrong image of materialism. First of all not everyone could afford to spend $20,000, second materialistic items will not make us happy, third buying luxury items can be addictive, fourth social media has a huge influence on what we buy & will push consumers to buy trendy luxury items. Best advice is to buy luxury items you see yourself wearing 5-10yrs from now, downsize & invest your money wisely.
Beautifully put! Thank you for sharing xx
Well stated ! You are so right!!!
agree! I just view the unboxing videos as entertainment. I often wonder if they already have so many nice and expensive handbags why will they rather buy an uglier and cheaper trendy piece instead of just showing how to style the existing bags they have with different outfits? and so many clothes they buy all look the same as what they already have.
That Chanel tiny vanity bag is not worth the money at all. It looks like kid’s bag and ridiculous in my opinion to be worn by a woman as a handbag . I feel surprised when I see famous RUclipsrs buy it and trying to say that this is one of their best purchases and fits their essential!!!!!!!unless their essential is chewing gum only 🤔
My phone is of my absolute essentials! xx
I’ve noticed a huge difference in my spending between my early twenties and late twenties. When I first started earning good money, I wanted everyone to know it, so I branded myself from head to toe. However, now that I’m 28, I’m focused on buying what I love and I don’t look like a walking advertisement for brands. I look like my own person. Excellent video and tips!
I can relate! If anything I prefer to look as low key as possible now xx
Soooo many people need to watch this! The voice of reason.
It means so much. Thank you, Pat! xx
Thank you for being the voice of reason 😘, this video couldn't have been published at a better time, there's a sense of urgency created in the luxury world when price increases happen, everyone pressured to get their "dream" handbag before the increase. I agree with you, it's pointless just to drop a large sum of money for no good reason. It's just a waste of money, nothing else.
Agree, it's the pressure of the FOMO syndrome, it's terrible and the luxury marketing teams are super aware of this they and they milk it to death.
Price increase can really create a sense of urgency in us! I bought too many things because of FOMO, it's a mistake I hope not to repeat xx
pls keep doing these videos! reminds me of staying on top of my expenses... ty! ❤️
She's like a therapist, isn't she?
Thank you! I'll keep working hard to bring out more content xx
Your Sunday videos always set my week up for the best intentions when it comes to money and spending. I am very thankful for your content :)
I'm really pleased to have you here too! Have a fabulous week xx
When I go into a luxury boutique I come in with a list of things I want to see. I don't spend a lot of time browsing since I know I'll be more likely to spend money on things I don't want. I come in having done as much research as I can online and the in-store visit is just a final check if it fits.
Beautifully put! xx
Same! That and I don’t like wasting the sale associates time! I come in with my list and stick to it. If it’s not what I love, I say I have to think about it and never come back for it.
I love how well thought out this video was. Not just specific items to not waste money on but general tips to help with smart spending overall.
It means a lot, thank you! xx
Thank you for sharing your honest opinions. Taking your luxury minimalism advice to heart has been empowering.
Glad it was helpful! Thank you, Carrie xx
I love your content! You are absolutely right-other people's opinions don't pay the bills!
Thanks so much! xx
Love this video .. very practical advice … in my 40s and no longer feel the need to impress nor bother about what others think ☺️
I get what you mean! It's too much effort anyway 😆
Would love to see a decluttering video ❤️ those are always so inspirational . Thank you for the videos ❤️❤️❤️
Noted! Thank you xx
Thanks again for your great advice Eileen! ❤️
Thank you xx
Yes! I feel so bad when I don't buy something, especially if the service is excellent. Even at stores like Coach, if they SA goes above and beyond, I feel like I need to buy a piece because they worked so hard. Most of the time it's a no-pressure environment.
Thanks for sharing, Sarah xx
OMG! I am that customer that has to buy from an SA even though I don't want the item just so they can get a commission because they were so nice to spend the time with me. Later, I return the item to a different store. Its a lot of work and wasted time driving to a different store to return the items.
It's hard sometimes but saying NO might actually be the answer xx
Oh my goodness I’ve done this!!!
Totally agreed! love your recent videos very useful💓
Thank you xx
Very true and inspiring! Love watching your videos! Thank you! 😊
Thank you, Annie xx
thanks again eileen! i nearly got into the dip of getting a new bag but i ended up having a super bad day and when i went to try the bag i found it very impractical to open and close the bag! i hav some urgent things to manage as well so glad i didn’t get it ☺️
I'm so glad you didn't cave it to that impulse purchase! I've made many emotional purchases myself, it's an expensive mistake I hope not to repeat xx
I totally agree, I like watching your video since it's so relaxing and educational. I also have that book, been trying to be minimalist since. lol!
Glad it was helpful! xx
Thank you this advice. You are the voice of reason and I needed to hear this as I am trying to resist temptation. I love the men’s LV watercolor xs keepall but I will admire from afar. I am prioritizing saving for my road trip this summer. You look very elegant today. ♥️
Thank you! I really like how the outfit turned out too xx
Hi Eileen, your viewpoints was so empowering!!!💕 It saved my money and works without any guilt of spending.😋 I used to be a fan of FOMO before but not now anymore!!!😝 More power to your channel and keep inspiring!!!💕💕💕
Thank you so much, Jianice xx
Hahaha I have this exact mini bag I actually love it it can hold my cards, AirPods, key fob, lipstick pretty much everything you need except a phone… this is my one tiny bag… I am so happy you mentioned it in your video 💖
Thank you for sharing! xx
I always look forward to hearing from you 😊😊😊❤❤❤
I appreciate that, thank you! xx
This video was very informative and needed. I have been guilty of purchasing useless items, but in my older age, I no longer entertain. Thank you!!!
Glad it was helpful! xx
Thanks for another informational video. Looking forward for more videos. 🙏
Thank you for your support xx
Hi Eileen, great video as usual!! I actually did a video inspired by you, since watching and subscribing to your channel you've really inspired me to really go down the luxury minimalist journey. I find this content refreshing in a sea of unboxing and shopping vlogs! x
Thanks for sharing! I'll drop by to have a look, good luck with your channel xx
@@ColourfulNoir thank you so much x
I’m leaning so much from you. have been spending less since I subscribed to your channel. :)
I'm so happy to hear that! xx
Very good points! Thank you for this video :)
Thank you xx
I have no problem saying No to an SA...I can't afford settling with costly items...they truly have to be perfect & perfect for me. And, just because they are perfect doesn't mean I am willing to pay an extremely inflated price for them... as you'll find on the secondhand market. TFS thought provoking content.🌼
Thank you for sharing! xx
Designer branded stationary always cracks me up!
And those Supreme Oreo too! xx
I commit guilty purchases too often! I always feel so bad about wasting their time
I know how you feel! xx
These are the rules I live by.
1 I never ever buy anything on credit
2 micro bags? No thanks, I should be able to fit my phone, keys and card holders. And more importantly my daughter ventolin puff for emergency case
3 I don't buy things any more just because they are on sale, all thanks to watching Eileen on Mondays. I no longer worry of FOMO too
That ventolin puff definitely gets a spot in every bag! xx
As always, great video❤️
Thank you ! xx
Love your channel. You are very wise beyond your years.
Thank you so much 😊
After I purchased my 1 and only Chanel handbag I am very selective about my luxury purchases. Also with the price increases from the fashion houses luxury is getting beyond my reach. So if I purchase something it really has it wow me.
It's good you set a clear boundary for yourself! It'll save you a lot of money xx
This is refreshing! Thank you.
Thank you! xx
Such good advice; thank you!👍
Glad it was helpful! xx
In this vlog I totally agree with youuuu. So Im 21 now still young right but I have some experience of buying and using luxury brand. And it takes me about years, maybe 2 and half to recognize that I dont have to show them i have vca necklace or cartier ring, etc and when time flies I decided to register membership gym, and what, i go to gym 3times a week! Also i decided to sell my vca, hermes charm bag, thom browne shirt,... because I know that body and mind more important that cloths! I know cloths still important right, but in my situation I bought them just what to show i have sense of fashion... i mean elegant fashion i want to become.. so yeah thank you for making this video!
It sounds like you have a very clear idea about what you like! That will save you a lot money xx
Excellent as usual!
Can you please make a video on Marie Kondo’s book and your advice for decluttering.
Have a wonderful week 🌸
noted! Thank you xx
You look so beautiful! 😍
Another great video 🙌
Thank you so much xx
Heart your advice!

Can we just have a moment here, your blouse is so beautiful 🤩
Thank you! xx
Thank you for your words of wisdom!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you, Sonia xx
Thanks for sharing your insights. Appreciate it 🙏🏼😊 I just bought my final designer handbag & wallet (essentials) and intend to stop buying and save instead. Have a good day lovely. 😊😊
Thanks for sharing!! Wishing you all the best on your 'no buy' journey xx
Best statement, paying for quality vs paying for the logo.
Perfect timing. Chanel n go and fling themselves. I was feeling so down that the prices are going up. I only have one chanel but guess its ENOUGH n I will continue to save for a vacation with my husband instead. Coach is great as well n YSL still has some consciousness left in them. To be honest are people buying chanel for its quality? If they made only a limited amount and hand crafted the full thing I would think its worth it. Not this .. tq dear. Love from your home 🏡 country ❤
Terima kasih! xx
I share the same on the guilty purchase! Now I don’t jump in the boutique to check everything out. But instead I only tell my SA items which I’m sure I’ve done all research and really fits my lifestyle.
That is a wonderful tip! xx
Thank you for such helpful information
Glad it was helpful xx
Great tips!
Thank you! xx
FOMO and Chanel price increases are the worst combination. I ended up with two double flaps because the beige clair is so hard to find I was afraid I’ll never see it again or it will be more expensive. I love the bag but need to diversify away from the Chanel! I completely agree with not buying the Hermès bag if the color is not right. If I want a Kelly 28 Etain I should hold out for it because that’s a lot of money! Thank you for making fun videos 😀
I agree! Never settle on your second choice, especially when they are so expensive xx
Dear Eileen, you are so right: fomo is such a bad reason to by items, especially if they are overpriced and not terribly useful to you. Have a nice day!
Thank you and have a fantastic week! xx
Thank you for your honesty 🙏telling us the truth. I have learnt a lot from you and follow your advice 🙏🥰
I have sold most of my bags and only have a few classic bags in my collection now. I’m paying off my house 🏠 now and be mortgage free soon🎉🎉🎉.
Thank you 🙏…
Wonderful! Please come back and let us know when the big day arrives! So excited for you xx
I think I needed to watch this today. Was debating on a limited edition bag as I was told it’s the last one. But, I have a lot of expenses this month and do I really need another black bag…
Kudos to you for not caving in xx
Totally agree with U! I make an effort to re-watch your video before entering into any Luxury Shopping area! Lol it may sounds funny, but somehow I just kind of stop buying even though I know I have actually saved enough or fallen over that piece of item months ago! ... moving forward I guess especially THIS VIDEO, IT WILL BE MY HANDY REMINDER 😀 BEFORE EVERY PLANNED Shopping 🛍 trip! Oh BTW, those Dislike Clicks here... u know what?, guess are all those Luxury Brands OWNERS or maybe SA .... cause this video definitely going to impact their sales revenue or commission somehow!
Cheers.. xoxo

Great video! Words of wisdom 😉
Thank you! xx
I just discovered you and what a discovery this is! 🥳 I hope your channel grows fast, listening to you is a #time very well invested. #thankyou for your valuable contribution 🌸🌸🌸 #newsubscriber
I like you the way of talking in a respected way 🥰🥰
For me, I need to stop online shopping. I keep buying luxury/high end designer ready to wear on sale that’s always final sale and they come in and look different than they did online or they don’t fit. Such a waste of money and I can never make my money back, even if I resell them with the tags still on
Thanks for sharing!! That's so true though, clothes usually have very poor resell values xx
Great and wise video 👍🥰🤗
Great Video!
Glad you enjoyed it xx
Excellent!
Thank you! xx
I watch the unboxing of a Chanel vanity case mini bag in Sophie Shohet channel and I must say that besides being ridiculously tiny it was poorly made. Truly, it was awful. Thanks Eileen, your videos are very sensible and helpful
Thanks for sharing!! xx
Ur my voice of reason my lady. 🙏🏼❤️😘😘😘Sandy
Hi Eileen! You have so many classic, beautiful pieces of clothing. Would love to learn more about where you shop! Thanks
Thank you! I usually link what I wear in the description xx
That Chanel tiny bag is extra tiny. I have the Chanel Mini chain which is bigger and which I wore for a wedding over the weekend and that can't fit a phone but fits a few things and this one you talked about is way smaller I can only use mine for special events as I don't put my phone in my bag then as I love taking pictures with it. They are not very practical to be honest:)
I get what you mean, even the Chanel WOC is too small for me xx
@@ColourfulNoir yes there is really no point getting a bag that can't fit much. The WOC is definitely bigger than my Mini chain so you can imagine how tiny mine is:)
such a good channel
Thank yoU! xx
Support you in Hong Kong❤️
Thank you! Can't wait to visit Hong Kong again xx
Merci. I saw a korean actress with a chanel trendy bag. I felt a wadte of money et conserative colour chanel wont die out. But that is her choice. Trendy pieces out of fashion area no show for me.
So true! We all have different preferences and no one know our taste better than ourselves xx
Could not agree more.
Thank you xx
Wise words
If I didn't pay for tayloring, I'd have no clothig to wear at all! Everything needs to be shortened for me.
Well said.. t shirts are no longer worth it for me.. thanks ..
I bought a dress today simply because the SA was very nice 😏😬
I don’t feel so good about it right now
I’m on holidays I don’t want to go back to the mall .
Have a good time! xx
100%!!!
Thank you Eileen for the video. Do you find Cartier love bracelets worth the money?
Thank you.
I think it is worth the price tag if you wear it on a daily basis and it brings you joy xx
Thank you Eileen for always replying to my comments. You are one of a kind.❤️❤️

Never understood the hype for tiny bags.
tiny bags look disproportionate to people of bigger size, they only make them look even bigger and unflattering. carry the handbags proportionate to the body size will enhance the looks better. tiny handbags are just a gimmick, for that tiny leather the price is not worth it and makes life so inconvenient too, coz u have to keep downsizing and not bring this and that out. where is the space to keep a phone ? keep holding the phone in the hand even when in the toilet ?
Phone in the toilet! That's a question I never thought of 🙈
I worked very hard but I'm very poor 😔
This pink Chanel bag looks like lunchbox- i👎
“Don’t buy luxury to impress others”
Excuse me… don’t be hypocrite… when you buy a 10.000$ Birkin or Kelly, which is the price of a car, you buy it because you want something others cannot have ! You CLEARLY want to signify to others “I am special, I am superior”.
She buys it to satisfy herself?! And they have great craftsmanship
@@pinksocks115 the craftsmanship, the ENTIRE cost price does NOT worth 10.000$ 😄. Considering the cost price and the retail price, we can call it a scam, but in this hell 2021, it’s not 😊
People are so stupid to be scammed just to impress others.
Actually that’s not true. Many people who are purse lovers are collectors of what they love and don’t really care what other people think. We just go with what makes your heart sing. If a designer makes enough hearts sing, they can charge more for their bags. A true purse lover’s purchase has nothing to do with anyone else.
Believe it or not, not everyone who buys luxury items buys them to impress others. Some people just love the bags and the quality of these items. My husband loves cars but he certainly doesn’t buy them to impress. He has loved certain cars since he was a boy and now he can afford to buy what he wants. He doesn’t care if it impresses people or not. Eileen is so authentic and buys what she loves. No other reason than that.
@@Debbiesdilemmas exactly! I buy bags because I enjoy them. The people around do not care. They aren’t into luxury and isn’t impressed by it. I buy for me. I do not post on SM either. Everyone has their own guilty pleasures. I’m not a car person so I would not buy a luxury car. But there isn’t anything wrong with people who do.
