Brother's slavery hasn't ended rather it has taken a new form in disguise. The maid's/servant's in 3rd world countries are given weekly pay, shelter to live under and are fed also. Yes the conditions for some may be poor and Allah will deal with those who oppress.
Furthermore real slavery is what is happening in poor countries such as Bangladesh, India and Pakistan where European Countries with major labels are using CHILDREN and WOMEN to design clothing worth over £1000 such as Gucci, Louis Vutton, D&G and Prada and paying them peanuts in return. People are quick to look at the Muslims but they forget the slavery their own nations are causing. May Allah save us all from his anger.

Make excuse for them. It may be that they do not know the ruling, even then if they stay behind the men to listen to the truth, is it forbidden? No. Because we know when the prophet adressed the Sahaba he would also address the Sahabi.
Maybe they want to listen to this as well? The brothers should move over when they see sisters.

Shamsi is correct concerning what the text say , unfortunately many muslims didn't practiced this but enslaved people , mainly Africans and Asians . It became institutionalized and such nations were slow to end until Western countries often forced them to. The Quran says one thing but many muslims groups did and still do different. Today this day it continues in many muslim majority countries .
I never understood why slavery wasn’t made haram. It left it open to be practiced that’s why the Arab slave trade continued. Humans made it illegal finally and even today in some parts of the world slavery is practiced

كذلك ملك اليمين
فملك اليمين هو رعاية وحنان وحب واهتمام للاسيرة التي هي في رق ولا يشاركها رجلان بل هي لرجل واحد وان ولدت ابنها يكون شرعي معترف به وان مات رجل فهي تتحرر ولا تذهب لرجل اخر فهذا الامر يبين مدى اهتمام الاسلام بها فمكان ان تتشرد وترمى في شوارع فقد تقتل او تغتصب او ياتي احد يجبرها على البغاء ،فالاسلام عمل نظام للقضاء على البغاء وليس نشره
حرص النبي حرصا شديدا ان تعامل ملك اليمين بلطف وعدالة لان ملك اليمين صورة مشابهة للزواج
النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال في اخر لحظات قبل موته
(الصلاة الصلاة وماملكت أيمانكم)
ذكر الصلاة التي هي عماد الدين مع الإحسان لملك اليمين!
بل قيمة ملك اليمين أدرجت مع نفس قائمة بر الوالدين!
يقول الله تعالى {وَاعْبُدُوا اللَّـهَ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَبِالْوَالِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَبِذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْيَتَامَىٰ وَالْمَسَاكِينِ وَالْجَارِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَالْجَارِ الْجُنُبِ وَالصَّاحِبِ بِالْجَنبِ وَابْنِ السَّبِيلِ وَمَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّـهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ مُخْتَالًا فَخُورًا} (سورة النساء، آية / 36 )
فملك اليمين في الاسلام علاقة مودة ورحمة وهي رعاية للاسيرة حتى لا تضيع او تغتصب في،شوارع أو تموت
ومع ذلك لو هي رفضت الامر بالكلية ليست مهتمة ،فلها الحق في الرفض عن طريق حاجة اسمها المكاتبة واردة بالقران ،تدفع ضريبة حرب ووتتحرر ،حتى لو ليس معها المال يمكنها تتحرر بالمجان كما جاء في القران

My question is the slaves you have intercourse with, do they become wives? and what if she got pregnant? what is the system? Do the kids get the man's surname?
Yup absolutely the man should recognize her position and acknowledge the kids too they are categorized as ' Malakat el aymane ' similar to the wife title somehow it just has another name because the way they got to be with each other is different taking into consideration the man has to treat her very well and never force her ..

When a female is taken in to serve the male before intercourse is fulfilled must they be married or are you sleeping with her unmarried? And if so can you explain how this is halal please? Many thanks in advance
There is no marriage with the woman, no nikkah or contract. There is need however i believe to wait for idda or waiting period depending on the marital status of the woman. Again, this is for war captives.

I have a question for brother shamsi, about the servant and intercourses. Do they have to marry her before the intercourse and she has to agree with it? I know in Islam it haram intercourses before marriage, you didn’t make it clear, when you said they can have intercourse. Just please clear it up for me if you don’t mind. Thank you

The Quran doesn’t say that rather zina when you have an intercourse with other then your wife or your mamalakat alyamin as our br shamsi said it’s pointless speaking about it in our time because it doesn’t exist however you don’t have to marry her in order to have intercourse with her.
