Wallaahi how true is what br Shamsi is sharing here, may Allaah reward him, the evils that come about from a broken home is detrimental to youngsters, women, men and all of society. At this point I'm wondering which one has more contradictions, the Bible or the Christian guy in the video.
Many of us Muslims never beat our wives. The option remains though if someone marries a rebellious woman. However, the beating ordained is not a harmful one where bones are broken and scars collected. It is more of a symbolic beating no much harder than what can be done playfully between couples. The only difference is the context ie this time instead of playfully, the couple is in a dispute. The beauty of Islam is that there are options that one may never need whereas another may need them. It is a religion that caters to all mankind, sent from their creator. All praise and thanks is to Allah.

"Beat" is always an exaggeration. Hit is a better translation. some companions explained this to mean with a siwaak (toothbrush) others explained it to mean divorce her. Any hitting cannot be break bones, not even discolour the skin. It can only occur IF it seems it will be good as a discipline. Not in a fit of rage or anger.
It also says in the Bible, (Paraphrasing) if the wife helps the husband in a fight by grabbing the attacker by the testicles, the husband have to cut her hand off with no mercy.

First of all, the Quran was revealed in Arabic, not in English or any other language. So, we should understand that translations could have inaccuracy, resulting in having a different meaning to the sentence that is translated. Also, words used in old literature had multiple meanings.
Likewise, Idribuhunna, which is the derivative of DaRaBa, has numerous synonyms as well, i.e., strike (V3:112, 47:4), travel (V3:156, 4:101), set forth, quote, set example, illustrate, to explain (V13:17), to seal or cover (V18:11); it could also mean taking away, closing, terminating, turning away (V43:5), and many more meanings must be in use in those days not mentioned in the Quran.
So, it has a different meaning and not one that is being stated in the incorrect translation.
Just like, for example, the word "mean" has multiple meanings in English just like the word, "interest", "date", "leave", etc.
In Verse 4:19, ALLAH says in the Quran, "O you who have believed, it is not lawful for you to inherit women by compulsion. And do not make difficulties for them in order to take [back] part of what you gave them unless they commit a clear immorality [i.e., adultery]. And live with them in kindness. For if you dislike them - perhaps you dislike a thing and ALLAH makes therein much good."

Quran is not allowing compulsion, then how it could allow beating a wife?
Also, don't read things out of context. Read the whole Surah instead of just one verse as all verses in a Surah are related.
Kindly read the life of Prophet Muhammad PBUH. He never hit any of His Wives. Don't misinterprete. Respect all religions. May peace be upon all the Prophets. May peace be upon Prophet Abraham, Prophet Moses, Prophet Jesus, and Prophet Muhammad. Ameen.
