Everyone doing jihad against their nafs, some even on petty things like waking up for fajr or giving up a stupid bad habbit, or trying to start salat wajib 5 times a day. If I would compare that struggle of me that I called Jihad with the Jihad of our brothers and sisters in Palestine against the occupiers between bullets and bombs, under the blazing swords and arrows, or our brothers in Afghanistan, in Syria, I would be a shameless person.
Let the one who wish Muslims to be tame against arm occupation labelled those peoples as terrorist, we don't need to change this things to fit their narrative of Jihad or to tame/civilize our religion, because when we sit here with coffee, laptop and near our wife and children in comfort, they are there suffering in the path of Allah, abandoning their dunya for their akhirah for the dignity of our sisters and childrens, the least thing we can do is not to belittle and compare their jihad with ours.

@@mohammad.alkurdi. When you label your personal struggles with temptation as Jihad; when you wake up in the morning to go to work to feed your family, endure traffic, and remain patient when your coworkers gossip behind your back and call it Jihad - you're not only belittling the term Mujahid, but you're also making yourself looks silly.
Zakah is etymologically means cleansing, so does it mean when I clean my hands, I'm fulfilling my Zakah? Just as with Jihad, which has a root meaning of struggle, it doesn't imply that when you're struggling to lower your gaze to avoid staring at your attractive teacher, you're engaging in Jihad in the path of Allah and you will die as a shaheed if you are having a cardiac arrest while keeping your gaze lower.

In the Quran whenever Allah mentioned Jihad Fisabillah that always mean fight in the way of Allah, not one is about struggling to get married so you can lower your gaze better. Ofc it's convenient for us to believe otherwise that me fasting against my nafs is equal to someone in Syria or Palestine at the Frontline becoming baits of bullets for Allah sake, but unfortunately it is not like that, those who leave their house and comfort then suffered and get killed for Allah sake are better than me who just a self entitled coach potatoes.

o9.0 JIHAD (O: Jihad means to war against non-Muslims, and is etymologically derived from the word mujahada signifying warfare to establish the religion. And it is the lesser jihad. As for the greater jihad, it is spiritual warfare against the lower self (nafs), which is why the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said as he was returning from jihad. ``We have returned from the lesser jihad to the greater jihad.'' The scriptural basis for jihad, prior to scholarly consensus (def: b7) is such Koranic verses as: (1) ``Fighting is prescribed for you'' (Koran 2:216); (2) ``Slay them wherever you find them'' (Koran 4:89); (3) ``Fight the idolators utterly'' (Koran 9:36); and such hadiths as the one related by Bukhari and Muslim that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) said: ``I have been commanded to fight people until they testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and perform the prayer, and pay zakat. If they say it, they have saved their blood and possessions from me, except for the rights of Islam over them. Ulema have explained the hadith about being ordered to fight until people testify Allah as fighting and expanding boarders so lands come under Islamic rule not necessarily the subjects. As for jizya it's not for those who attack us. Muslims give kuffar nations 3 days to accept Islam, pay jizya or fight.
