I just quit a MLM. I joined because I was on maternity leave and my boyfriend works away in the middle of the ocean, I wanted to just have a “community” of friends and support. Anyways, I joined thinking that you can work when you want and whenever you want, like they advertised. So I just started it as a little hobby, then I kept getting all this pressure from my upline that if I want anything from this company, I need new blood and to start my own team, so I started messaging people (which made me cringe) because that’s not what I wanted originally. They keep throwing the trips and “free car” in your face. I honestly thought it was a free car until my boyfriend did the research and quickly brought me back to reality. Thank god I escaped. I was on my phone SO much so I wouldn’t feel like I was disappointing anyone.
Anyways, I quit and I definitely hit a nerve in my upline. They messaged me right away trying to change my decision.
Honestly I’ve only been with the company for 5 months, I lost so much quality time with my family and newborn. It was a nightmare. I have a real career, I’m a nurse, and my boss would never put that pressure on me like that… EVER.
So much false dreams and hope poured into you, but that’s because you’re making the TOP people money. It’s scary. I can see how people find it so hard to quit, you’re brainwashed.
Also we had 3 meetings a week untop of all that constant work for maybe 120 dollars extra a month… no thanks.
    Please educate yourself people! Xox

These recruitment based businesses seem very cult-like: lots of love bombing when you join, then excommunication if you want to leave.

I admire you for all the time effort and intelligence it takes to become a nurse… I know with my visual disability and severe ADHD that would never happen for me… I only have light perception in one of my eyes the other one has about a fourth of the vision of a normal person… but furthermore I can respect that you saw your way out of your MLM so quickly… I was always taught to simply go with my intuition and if something doesn’t feel right most likely it doesn’t feel right for a reason… I almost got recruited several times by several different MLM’s but my intuition told me that they were just trying to recruit me because they thought they could use my disability as a springboard they saw me as an easy target… I was saved by the fact that I knew first of all that it didn’t feel right// and second of all that I knew I couldn’t sell any product being The introverted person that I am… my enjoyment in life comes from reading and learning not social interactions

If you want a hobby, learn guitar. Just 30 minutes a day to learn guitar. Record yourself on Day 1 and put that recording aside. When it’s been 5 months, watch that recording from Day 1. You will be amazed at how much you’ve accomplished in 5 months and it will be way more impressive than what you accomplished in an MLM.

I think people forget why the algorithm likes that kind of engagement and why it’s called engagement. Its because it’s an indicator that the audience is engaged with the content. The algorithm was created by people who were trying to find reliable ways to measure whether people enjoy the content or not. So it is a good measure in general, not just because the algorithm thinks it is.
      Hope that makes sense.

She tries to make her life this huge sob story of how she was a single mom living out of a room at her moms house and how difficult it was. But the fact she was living in her moms house already gives her an advantage from other people in a similar position. She probably did not have to pay tons in rent which already gave her a leg up to buying her own house. She also had her mom around which gave her support and mostly likely assistance with her children. Not really the same as a single mother living as the only adult in the household. She was able to save a lot of money that way.

I don't like that one of the speakers asked, what are you sacrificing for the MLM? Why do you need to sacrifice for a job? Not even a job, because a job pays you. I exchange my time for a pay cheque, benefits, job security, pension, medical, training, etc. It feels fair to me.
Also, I am so beyond annoyed with the concept that effort equals success. There is zero correlation between how hard you work and the amount of income you make.

    • @Andrea-tf1le
      @Andrea-tf1le 2 года назад +9

I think the most effective lies are twisted truths. There is truth that hard work is more often rewarded more than laziness. If you show up on time to your job, complete your tasks well, have a good attitude, are helpful to other people and essentially work hard then you are more likely to get things like promotions and good references for positions that do increase your income. Whereas if you are lazy on the job, show up late or call out all the time, cause drama and don't complete your tasks then you're not as likely to get promotions or even good references for positions that can increase your income. But these people in MLM's twist it to tell people that your success is ONLY related to how hard you work. Hard work is only one aspect of success, it does have an influence but it's the end all be all of what determines success like they're pitching it.

100% agree on the group chats. My hubby has a really large family, and recently his elderly aunt had a fall. She's fine, but the whole family was added to a group chat to keep us all up to date. It was usually just one or two people posting updates, but cue all the rest of the family saying OK or giving thumbs up. My phone was constantly dinging at me for nearly a week. I was really happy that auntie was doing well, and I had married into such a supportive family, but by the end of it I was utterly exhausted.

I love how these calls that are pushed as "training calls", are really just berating sessions. Where your upline just gets on a call to tell you how awesome they are, and how much you suck because you're not them.
In what other work environment would this be acceptable?? If this happened literally anywhere else, any one of these girls would leave the call and quit their job.
It's mind-boggling to hear this girl verbally crush these girls. She goes on about their potential as human beings, and then flips the switch and tells them that they're not reaching that potential because they're not passionate enough about shampoo.
No. These girls have far more potential than listening to someone tell them their worth is tied to this business.
Ugh. And what this girl thinks are things to be proud of - not dating or having a life - is actually really sad.
If these training calls were filled with things that they REALLY mean, they'd say things like "If you try hard enough, you could have no life, too!" Or "If you believe in yourself enough, you could give up everything that matters to you, too... and only work this business, and do nothing else!"

I’ve been binging your content for the past 2 days straight. You’re such a well spoken person and so fun to listen to while being educational about this at the same time! I’ve heard you in a few videos that you could write these zoom calls yourself at this point, it makes me want to see you parody one yourself haha

Omg I literally JUST discovered her from a truecrime RUclipsr who recommended her anti-MLM content 2 nights ago and cannot stop binge watching!! Lol 😅
I never even knew this content existed nor that I would be so intrigued by it!

@@MaddyIntravia That’s funny because one of her videos was recommended to me while I was also watching a true crime RUclipsr lol! She is super bingeable! 😆

If I had a PV point for every time one of these girls said “this business”, I’d be all of their upline.

I just can't get through this. What a load of rubbish. She's taken 27 mins to basically say "I'm better than everyone on this call". Wow!

Did she just pressure people to join a 5 AM call!? What about time freedom?!

5:00 not me forgetting what you said about text tones IMMEDIATELY and checking my phone twenty times like “where’s the text my guy your pinging but no text” 🤦🤦🤦🙈

I literally don’t understand the “quitting a regular 9-5” to spend more time with their kids, but then being told to make the business work they need to limit all time with anything outside of the mlm 🧐🧐

I'd love to know how many people on that call quit within the week.

This is absolutely insane. I discovered your channel recently and have been catching up. Always knew MLMs are sketchy but never knew what goes on being the scenes. Unreal!

15:34 It made me think of Home Alone 2 when Kevin said "My family's in Florida and I'm in New York."

Proud of you! These guys are manipulative. You cant be too hard on yourself. In fact it's amazing that you could see their true colors even after being in. It takes guts to admit you're wrong and not double down

10:59 I absolutely think that every time a rep says they are "impacting lives". They sure are, just not in a positive manner.

I wonder what these 'team leaders' have to do to hype themselves up to spiel such garbage. I always imagine they get off these calls and cry.
