Right? PTO lets you get paid while laying on the beach for 2 weeks, without worrying about someone in your downline dropping out and destroying your „business“ 😂
So far this year, I’ve taken three PAID mental health days off of work. And I still have plenty of PTO left for the year. These girls are so dumb sometimes 😂
...and when I have been home sick from past employment, using PTO/sick pay...legitimately getting paid while sleeping/napping. 😁 Yeah, as a benefit (etc.!) by working at my 9-5 job... 😁

@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValleyi’ve been rewatching old videos and scrolling through the comments and saw this, and i have thoughts that could answer this. MLMs kind of have a life cycle. they’re founded, they grow slowly as their first recruits discover the business, they grow a little quicker as those people begin recruiting more people, and they skyrocket for a period of time. i think Hannah has said there’s evidence that years 4-7ish tend to be MLM’s best, lots of people are joining, making the top of the pyramid and the founders rich, but once market saturation is reached, and the lowest ranks can hardly recruit anyone, their profits start to hurt. the company continues to make money off of their reps, as they continue to buy their own personal stock of products that they use, or that they need to purchase to hit PV quotas or to hit or maintain ranks, but their main form of revenue (recruitment) slows way down. and when the opportunity worsens, people will begin to leave, either quitting MLMs altogether or jumping to a new one. from there the business slowly deflates, and as we’ve seen in the last year or so, many MLM companies have either shut down at that point of the life cycle, or they restructure away from the MLM business model, which leaves the reps without their job or without a major portion of their income. the opportunity dies away at that point, and everyone in the company suffers the loss. hope that helps answer your question! (about a year later lol)
I've always found the MLM view of passive/residual income fascinating - I get royalties from several books twice a year, the amounts are in the low thousands and I do absolutely nothing to make this happen (the publisher does). I could stay in bed for a year doing no work at all and these payments would still turn up. That's passive income, if you're hustling all day every day on your phone the income (if any) isn't passive.
I wish these people knew what the word ‘retire’ actually meant. My parents are retired, meaning they don’t work. These ladies work 10 times harder than they probably did in their former full time jobs.
I love to listen to these and laugh every day when I’m packing orders for my actual small business I started. The “what is BBB” sent me 😂😂😂 Thank you for sharing.
I have to say - this is one of those videos that explains nearly all of the “objections” perfectly. One that you send to a friend who may be considering joining an mlm OR who is trying to argue the factual issues. So well done and VERY well said!! 🙏
When you said "give me the dogs address and I'll send him toys" I couldn't help but to imagine the dog in a little doghouse with little house numbers on his little mailbox and it made me smile.

This channel is a blessing honestly. My mother was swindled into joining one of these pyramid schemes because she is very passive. She tends to be a people pleaser type of person so she can be easily manipulated unfortunately.. Literally I’ve tried EVERYTHING to get her to see that MLMs are not good business ventures. Anyway, I’m glad to say that I’ve had her watch this video and a few others from this channel and she is now in the process of escaping the MLM cult she joined. If anyone is empowering women it’s this girl running this genius channel!
I loved the part where she said you were going to make generational wealth with an MLM. If you start one maybe… Even if you’re a high earner, they expect you to spend money faster than you make it because you need to look successful and rich to help further the illusion.
Sorry for multiple comments! - I prioritized a full time day job (Monday - Thursday, 10 hr days) over my art small business because it truly gave me more time and mental freedom. It was exhausting having to be "online" and "available" 24/7 as a freelance artist. I'm so much happier being able to clock out of work and having the financial stability and space to continue building my actual non scammy small business. It also can make sales online at any time of day and doesn't require scamming other people....
“The more people you help, the more money you make.” That’s why people that give their lives to non-profits, inner-city teachers, and full time volunteers are all millionaires. Or, apparently if they REALLY wanted to help people, they would be in mlms, selfish mofos.
omg getting to see how someone quits an mlm word for word is the besttt so proud of her and hope we see more stories like that bc that would fire me up to quit too 😂
Love that this Monat girl used Johnson and Johnson as an example when they are still dealing with the baby powder lawsuits, was attempting to file bankruptcy and now are actually splitting into two companies in order to separate the consumer product lawsuits from their pharmaceutical company.
Monat really does suck, My mom got some and I used it once when I was staying at her house. It made my hair so greasy! And also just to put it out there I don't necessarily trust the BBB anymore. once I registered my business as an LLC I started getting offers from them to pay for an A+ Better Business bureau rating.. so apparently you can just buy good standing from the BBB now.
i dont really know about the BBB (im not from the US), but this just makes Monat look even worse in my eyes, if they wont even pay for a better review, idk
Omg I burst out laughing when she said "residal" income. I shrieked. I don't like to make fun of people for the way they speak, but something about huns manipulating people makes it feel okay 😂 She was so clearly spouting off words she read on an infographic, without thinking about what she was actually saying. MLM is the absolute opposite of residual income or passive income.
Do they realize that small businesses often just close to take time off and no one has to hold the fort? Customers just come back after the owners reopen? My coffee Roasters just went to visit their son in Italy for 3 weeks and I made sure to get coffee right before so I has enough until they got back
Ok the dog toy drive really got me. I'm part of an animal rescue and we get MLM reps try to do a find raising party for us regularly. The answer is always NO. For anyone reading this, please find out the rescue or shelter where that animal is and just donate directly to them.
Two things: First, you mentioned that someone will be watching this video (and getting ads) in a year. Hi, it's me. I'm watching a year after you posted. Second, I am an author, and the way you described the money is pretty darn accurate. (I'm honestly impressed. Author money is so mysterious to most people outside the industry.) Many of us (if we publish with a larger publishing house) actually make advances, so we get a chunk of money upfront (and upon completing different parts of the contract), and then once we "earn through" the advance, we begin making royalties, which is what you mentioned. Not all books earn through their advances (it's totally normal not to!), but it's really nice when they do. I have a few book that have earned through, so I'm still making *new* money on books that published in 2015 and 2016.
The first hun actually reminded me of Jessica Hickson speaking about how she was always freaking out that the business would fall apart if she distanced herself just a little bit. That's definitely not the same as having PTO, quite the opposite, really.
My why was my family and I failed therefore I must not care about my family enough, absolutely heartbreaking to hear that/feel that as a mom of young kids. And these women boast about how much they are called to help moms come home through Monat and then shame them when they aren’t making sales/recruits.
Update on the second video, she has since removed all of her monat content off of her Instagram and never posts stories about it anymore, also haven’t been seeing her Escalade in any of her Instagram posts or stories either. She’s always been a mean girl, and funny enough I went to high school with her. Made my day seeing her in your video 😂😂😂
It really shows that you're so much more confident, assertive, and passionate in these videos than when you first started - but what has stayed the same is how amazingly eloquent you are on this topic. Thank you so much for putting these videos together every week!
They’re so well researched, too. She’s like an investigative journalist. I hope she doesn’t lose the sass, though. Her reactions are the perfect complement to her well polished delivery. I especially love the eye rolls. She really captures what I’m feeling.
I signed up for “free samples” with Monat last year…. It was an entire ordeal. They say just pay shipping. I was charged $12 CAD for shipping which I know only costs under $5 (I work for the post office). I got 2 samples. What actually happened: I was charged $48 and immediately tried to cancel and my friend the rep tried to cancel, I was told they would refund me and cancel the sample order. After over an hour on the phone for each of us, my order was never cancelled and weeks later I got my samples. I tried the face wash samples and immediately broke out in an awful, painful and hideous rash all over my face. The rash wouldn’t leave for over 2 weeks, despite only using the product once. I’ve never experience any sort of rash before or since then. Awful. Never again.
I knew someone that joined monat, and she persuaded my mom to buy some shampoos. However my mom was charged over 3 months nearly $100 dollars each month and when she went to cancel it was very difficult and customer service was really resistant. My mom didn't sign up as a sales person she just purchased as a customer to help the person. Very shady company!
Ugh. This is just as bad as a "friend" of mine once shared that if she got orders every day for a month, she'd FINALLY take her kids to disney. Used them in the graphic. Posted videos of them begging people for orders. It was disgusting. People will do anything to sell their mlm products.
The monthly charge was more than likely the autoships. Even as a MP you are still signed up for auto shipments and they make it super hard to get out of it.
I love the lady that did some cursory research, found all she needed to know and was like "Nah dog .... I'm out!" Also side not the BBB is not the trustworthy site I once thought it was when I learned that their paying customers often keep good grades even when they lose court battles and have to settle. CNN Money ( not my favorite publication for sure lol) did a small expose on the BBB it was interesting.
In the US, 55% of pharmacists are women. Pretty sure this profession alone turns out more 6 figure-earning women than network marketing. I hate this pseudo-statistic more than most things they spew.
@@LimorG Yes. Per US News: Pharmacists made a median salary of $128,710 in 2020. The best-paid 25 percent made $147,690 that year, while the lowest-paid 25 percent made $112,690. Starting salary is usually around $110,000, depending on the state (Cali is around 140 starting)

Is that Monat upline looking at who is on calls and harassing her downline who aren’t? Ew. What happened to it being your own business and you can set your own hours and decide for yourself what you do or don’t want to do? 🙄
A word of caution - the BBB is not 100% trustworthy. It's ok as just one tool to check company reliability, but companies can pay the BBB for certification.
That motivational speaker that said "you can never go backwards" 🤣 I mean, unless The people in your downlines start dropping out like flies as they always do, or you don't meet your monthly quotas...
I feel bad for the “residull” income girl. She seems really stupid , like not even being snarky, but simply just unintelligent. Sad. The gal who texted back with sources is my hero!!! And to Hannah really like how you clearly explain things, I can almost copy and paste your words into a message if I’m ever approached with this crap.
Either really stupid or intoxicated in some way. She sounded like she either had no idea what she was saying (reading a script she couldn't even comprehend) or she could not give a crap about any of it.
The bullies in these pyramid scheme uplines are probably shocked when they get pushback. 👏🏼to the woman who left. The panic radiating from the texts of the upline was palpable. She realized she went too far. As a business owner 🙄shouldn’t she be prepared with information to counter any objections from customers/down lines regarding negative press? She was flailing and it was pretty great.
Great video! I wish I could send this to everyone I know who is still living in the “MLM Nightmare World!” Love how you break down everything and explain it so well. Everyone, MLM or not, needs to educate themselves on these “cults.” Wish your channel had been around in my past with the MLM world.
The one with the dog pisses me off. Actually it Always pisses me off when a company says "for every ........you purchase we will donate.........". Either donate the money or not. Then they come back and say "Company A donated $_____to Charity B". No they didn't. Their customers did!!!!! Sorry for my soapbox. Hit a nerve.
Errr since when was a company you work for paying you on time a flex? That’s what the absolute vast majority of companies do, it’s considered to be extremely bad practice to not.
Clip 5 - It's been possibly 5+ years since I got scammed with my Kagen water filter. The way they get you in is the fact that the water filters cost so much so the commissions are quite large. What they don't tell you, is that making that one sale is hard AF. I've seen/witnessed the Enagic in person presentation. The number of times you'd have to do it then overcome the hurdle that most people don't have $5k ... yeh. Struggle. Also, they don't realise that once someone has bought one.. they don't buy 'more'. That's it.

That's passive income, if you're hustling all day every day on your phone the income (if any) isn't passive.
I gotta get a publisher
I wish these people knew what the word ‘retire’ actually meant. My parents are retired, meaning they don’t work. These ladies work 10 times harder than they probably did in their former full time jobs.
I love to listen to these and laugh every day when I’m packing orders for my actual small business I started. The “what is BBB” sent me 😂😂😂 Thank you for sharing.
I am just so sick of them talking about the “impact” they’re making. It’s an impact, but it’s not a good one, Jessica. 😂
'you make money without having to work 24/7 but also if you didn't make money it's because you're not working hard enough'
I have to say - this is one of those videos that explains nearly all of the “objections” perfectly. One that you send to a friend who may be considering joining an mlm OR who is trying to argue the factual issues. So well done and VERY well said!! 🙏
Wow, that’s a wonderful compliment thank you!!
When you said "give me the dogs address and I'll send him toys" I couldn't help but to imagine the dog in a little doghouse with little house numbers on his little mailbox and it made me smile.
During clip 5 one of his bragging points was that they will pay you on time...as if its normal for jobs not to pay you on time
Apparently the only jobs they ever had were for their shady broke cousin
28:18 "clicking on it in a year"
Saying hi from a year and a half in the future 👋🏻
I just took 2 paid days off because I felt like it. I still have 7 weeks of paid time off not counting paid holidays. Girl bye
31:39 _"But do you really think that someone's up at 3 am shopping on the Monat website?"_
Hun in Patrick Star voice: OH BOY 3 AM! _buys $200 of personal inventory_
😂😂😂 This is so funny
😂
This channel is a blessing honestly. My mother was swindled into joining one of these pyramid schemes because she is very passive. She tends to be a people pleaser type of person so she can be easily manipulated unfortunately.. Literally I’ve tried EVERYTHING to get her to see that MLMs are not good business ventures. Anyway, I’m glad to say that I’ve had her watch this video and a few others from this channel and she is now in the process of escaping the MLM cult she joined. If anyone is empowering women it’s this girl running this genius channel!
You literally made me cackle at “residal income” 😂 Your reaction was exactly mine!
Oh my goodness I couldn't help it!!
Hahahahh same!!!
The upline was definitely rage texting 😂😂 I had to rewind and listen again…so funny “talking bas because they didn’t success in the business” 💀
“The more people you help, the more money you make.” That’s why people that give their lives to non-profits, inner-city teachers, and full time volunteers are all millionaires. Or, apparently if they REALLY wanted to help people, they would be in mlms, selfish mofos.
That's exactly what I thought. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
omg getting to see how someone quits an mlm word for word is the besttt so proud of her and hope we see more stories like that bc that would fire me up to quit too 😂
"we have won every settlement" tells me that person doesn't know what a settlement is
Love that this Monat girl used Johnson and Johnson as an example when they are still dealing with the baby powder lawsuits, was attempting to file bankruptcy and now are actually splitting into two companies in order to separate the consumer product lawsuits from their pharmaceutical company.
“Hunsplaining”
@@hailbones6663 🤣🤣🤣
Do they realize that small businesses often just close to take time off and no one has to hold the fort? Customers just come back after the owners reopen? My coffee Roasters just went to visit their son in Italy for 3 weeks and I made sure to get coffee right before so I has enough until they got back
"Whats the BBB" IM DYING HERE!!!!
35:42 even the face of the lady in the promo pic is blurred LOL that cracked me up
None of the benefits of self-ownership but none of the benefits of having an employer
Ok the dog toy drive really got me. I'm part of an animal rescue and we get MLM reps try to do a find raising party for us regularly. The answer is always NO. For anyone reading this, please find out the rescue or shelter where that animal is and just donate directly to them.
Two things:
First, you mentioned that someone will be watching this video (and getting ads) in a year.
You nailed this one Hannah! You gave such a good summary of the scam of MLMs and the rampant victim blaming/ manipulation in Monat
My why was my family and I failed therefore I must not care about my family enough, absolutely heartbreaking to hear that/feel that as a mom of young kids. And these women boast about how much they are called to help moms come home through Monat and then shame them when they aren’t making sales/recruits.
I was not ready for "What's BBB?" LMAO. Honestly iconic.
Great analysis, Hannah: it’s so difficult to acquire a customer (I mean small business owner), uplines are incentivized to lie
Upline: If you don't have what it takes, you can quit anytime you want!
Downline: Okay, I quit.
Upline: *surprised pikachu face*
😂😂😂
It really shows that you're so much more confident, assertive, and passionate in these videos than when you first started - but what has stayed the same is how amazingly eloquent you are on this topic. Thank you so much for putting these videos together every week!
They’re so well researched, too. She’s like an investigative journalist. I hope she doesn’t lose the sass, though. Her reactions are the perfect complement to her well polished delivery. I especially love the eye rolls. She really captures what I’m feeling.
those "calls" are nothing more than a pep rally. nothing useful is actually communicated during them.
27:12 Name ONE person who inherited all their wealth from a parent who got sucked into an MLM. I'll wait.
21:08 not in relation to a mlm job but I really needed to hear this today. Thanks
You don't "retire" when you leave your job to join an MLM .You are still working
So many of them say I promise it will change your life.. but that could mean it makes it worse. So they’re not lying 😑
Ugh. This is just as bad as a "friend" of mine once shared that if she got orders every day for a month, she'd FINALLY take her kids to disney. Used them in the graphic. Posted videos of them begging people for orders. It was disgusting. People will do anything to sell their mlm products.
Hannah is FEISTY today!
I'm less than five minutes in and already loving it! Haha 😘
I was a little sassier than normal 🤣
😂😂😂😂
Do pharmacists generally make 6 figures?
@@LimorG Yes. Per US News: Pharmacists made a median salary of $128,710 in 2020. The best-paid 25 percent made $147,690 that year, while the lowest-paid 25 percent made $112,690. Starting salary is usually around $110,000, depending on the state (Cali is around 140 starting)
Hannah!!! Loving the spiciness you brought in this video. 👏🏻 You are always so well spoken and bring the ‘mic drop’ facts EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
Love the videos they get me through working from home. You look great as always, I don’t know how you do it. Keep making great videos x
39:16 She didn’t promise it will pay off, she just promised it will change your life, for better or for worse. If you loose a shit ton of money it still changes your life
Is that Monat upline looking at who is on calls and harassing her downline who aren’t? Ew. What happened to it being your own business and you can set your own hours and decide for yourself what you do or don’t want to do? 🙄
If I never hear the word "pour" again it'll be too soon!
I watch so many of these that I've come full circle to "Maybe I can do it???" Then I have to snap out of it.
That text exchange is amazing and the ex-recruit was awesome at how she decides that she’s having none of it.
When they say they "retired" it's because they started pulling from their 401k to pay for the MLM
They really don't understand the meaning of retirement 😂🤔
I am in fact watching this a year after it was posted so I’m making Hannah more residual income than any mlm hun has ever made.
I've been here since 10k and been rewatching this playlist the past couple days, I'm soo proud of you hannah! Almost 300k is crazy and so deserved!
28:28 2 years later here I am watching it
Same here! Blessing Hannah with "RESIDAL" income 😂
Same 😂
Fr
Same
This was a good one!! Your little graph explaining that "statistic" the girl from clip 3 cited gave me a good lol 😆Your common sense wins every time!
ONE OUNCE of common sense 🤣
You also don’t “win a settlement” especially when you’re the one paying it
That girl was a lot more respectful than I would’ve been! Wow, she’s being abusive in the name of “tough love”.
I love how on the first cuss word, the beep is right BEFORE the cuss. Like announcing it XD
this girl with the ambassador program thing might as well start her actual own business. she seems like an evil genius lol
Just a tip: the $store can have a lot of great pet toys and accessories. We often do hauls for our shelter cats & doggos
I'm on clip 2 and i'm so proud of that girl for standing up for herself. Good for her for doing her research and not being manipulated into staying.
That text exchange was pure gold. So glad she shared it, and so glad you posted it.
I will be using your breakdown of exceeding the population of the earth with my math class, you lay it out so well.
Here from the future watching your videos... 42 is such a baby number now😊
Thank you for creating this content!
That's it.
