I was in Monat for 6 longgg months and it’s the RUclips anti-mlm community that really validated those doubts I was having. I’ve heard you say in a past video that you never think your videos will get anyone to leave their MLM, but I think there’s a LOT of women who are questioning whether to continue and it’s just a matter of them coming across an anti-MLM video bc that’s all it took for me. I’m so embarrassed I was part of this and posted about it. I was in that woman Ali’s downline and I remember when she ranked to SED. I posted in my stories congratulating her and how inspiring she was to have as a leader. Now here I am watching this cringing at her. Full circle moment.

I was, obviously, very flattered & agreed to meet with her at a bakery to talk about her business. The entire meeting she kept telling me that I’d have to sign up with a company before I could start working with her business (but don’t worry, sign-up is super easy & hassle-free plus you get paid to do what you already love!). She asked me why I had a problem with doing that, and I said “what if someone is really needing a friend and think that they have found someone that cares, how will they feel when they realize the motivation was recruiting them so we could make a profit.” And this girls response was “if you are going to care about things like that, this business won’t work for you.” Then she unfollowed me.

She sent me a message that seemed to empathize with what I was going through and I thought it was SO nice that she took notice and took the time to reach out - I was feeling like the loneliest person in the world. And then she turned around and invited me to her MLM party and tried to sell me stuff as a way to “make me feel better”. It made me angry and it hurt. And yeah - it was an instant unfriend and block from me. I’m glad you’re conscious enough to consider other people REAL people and not do this to others.

the hairspray doubling as makeup setting spray is actually an old drag queen trick - it's not pulled from nowhere! Hairspray is skin safe, and a matte, gentle hold spray leaves a surprisingly nice finish and doesn't feel bad! i've been using it on myself for years with zero issue lol. now, would i, as a trained makeup artist, ever use it in this way on a client? No! It comes across as tacky and unprofessional, and it's certainly not something to bring up in a sales pitch for your garbage pyramid scheme.

Telling people to stop watching TV is so reminiscent for me of the religious cult I found myself in years ago. They didn't want us to watch TV either. They said it was a waste of time... "Why watch TV when you could be doing the Lord's work?" they would say. Constant guilting their members for not spending every waking moment dedicated to their "church". This absolutely falls under the "information control" section of Steven Hassan's BITE Model of Authoritarian Control.

Telling Mom's that time with their kids doesn't matter before they're in elementary school is absolutely insane, and I would bet that most early education teachers could point out notable differences in children whose parents gave them attention, and those who didn't.
And I know that EVERY child will tell these women that the "lifestyle" their Mom is working toward doesn't even compare in importance to their Mom being present, and in the moment when they're together.
Just because they can't remember every moment doesn't mean it doesn't impact them.

The environment and relationships they experience in those early years can heavily impact them as kids, teens, and adults.

I was miserable because I wasn’t giving myself any leisure time, I wasn’t spending any time with my husband, and I felt guilty any time I could be “working” but wasn’t. I struggled and asked honest questions and got the same types of responses from “experts”. "Keeping your team motivated is not a thing, we can't motivate anybody (...) the motivation was gone by day 4." Big YIKES! Why does that sound that their toxic behavior shows up really early?
Anybody in a real job will tell you that being motivated is one of the keys to success? The less motivated someone feels, the less they feel like participating and the quicker will toxic behavior spread like a bad weed. Miss, the reality of the situation is that your paycheck depends on if these people feel motivated or not to help you get paid- they can straight up leave and tell their mutuals (if, hopefully, the MLM didn't destroy relationships) to not buy this product or anything with the brand name on it and gone is that market for you, doors closed forever.
Also, there's a difference between living with a working mother and a mother in an MLM- because a mother in an MLM that is not on the top, will be a struggling mother. And there's no worse feeling for a child than seeing their parent in a bad situation and feeling utterly helpless as their parent struggles to get the money for that month's rent.

I notice that many, MANY Monet reps wear hats in Zoom calls. Which seems odd for a company touting supposedly amazing hair care products. 🤔

"Your 6 moth old won't remember you ignoring him" umm...exactly. They can't remember being little WE ARE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT!!!! The momories of the little years are ours, and they are precious, and kids will ask about them. "How old was I when I...?" "What was my first word?" "what did I like to play?" Our memories of our babies are PRICELESS!

    The gaslighting is so infuriating!
    You're stuck? Need help?
    "You're not stuck, it's a mindset and you're lazy"
Also, work hard, ignore yourself, your children, your family, grind, grind, grind!
    But, HAVE FUN!
That lady in the tie dye is always so flippant about any struggle people are having. She's got all the answers, and the answer is always "you're to blame".

The hairspray-as-setting-spray thing is an old theater/drag trick bc once you spray a little on your face the makeup won't budge. I used to do it all the time when I'd be on stage. Also works great to prevent static build up on your legs when you need your skirts to not be sticky.

I'm the son of two teachers and swore I wouldn't go into Education, but here I am, an academic advisor in the College of Education at a big10 University. I do love it, but gosh is it hard sometimes! Thanks for being you!

I remember being on arbonne calls and being like "wow these people are amazing, look at all the great things they are doing" motivating me to do those things and being unsuccessful. It hurts self esteem. Needless to say it didn't last long.. buh- bye
Also how did I not know to do my own simple research to look into this business- you are in it and submerged with no regard for anything else aside from "making money" I tried to sell my mom a $50 BODY SCRUB and told her she was supporting my business. NO.
    Keep being you, Hannah!

It's mind-boggling to me that one of them complained about their downline asking too many questions and "bothering" them. They prey on vulnerable people that are desperate to be rescued, and then leave them flailing in a world unknown to them. So messed up.

Honestly, 9 to 5 sounds sooo much better than her alternative of giving up literally everything but work. And if anyone believes that it’s only going to be a year and then they can go back to normal, they are delusional because people loose ranks the minute they stop “hustling”, people fall of all the time. So now we know, the only way to be “successful” in Monat is to give up all your time freedom (ironic, isn’t it?).

The hairspray as makeup setting spray is like a "hack" for when you can't actually go out and buy some before some kind of event or going out. I've heard it on makeup forums before, but no legit hairspray would ever advertise to spray it on your face!

  • @ilickgrandmas2854

Hairspray on your face is okay. It's safe for your skin and when you run out of setting spray its a completely fine replacement and gives the same result. Its been used for stage makeup ages ago.

Maybe business attorneys and financial advisors didn’t follow up because they have ACTUAL clients and they are busy? Maybe they’re providing legal/financial guidance while getting paid what they deserve? Instead of pretending to be busy with DMs full of people wanting to join you for such an aMaZiNg bUsSiNEss oPPoRtuNItY 😂 but what do I know, I’m just trading my time for money working at a 9-5 🙃

It is so frustrating that she says the time with kids isn't as important when they're younger. That is a VERY important time in their lives that they need love and attention. Even if they can't speak, they are still developing and it can still affect them.

So, if I've got this straight... I won't have time to exercise while I'm building "my" business, and if I (erroneously) think I'm stuck, I should do something that motivates me, for example: exercising.

    • @Fenomka
      @Fenomka 5 месяцев назад

well obviously, the answer is to record yourself exercising for your story, including the pre-workout where you used your hairspray - I mean makeup setting spray to lock in that look before you hit the treadmill! don't forget your before and after!!!

I can't believe you got this amazing footage! Honestly their professionalism and speech style is so lacking I'm surprised anyone believes a thing they say!
I will defend one thing they said - hairspray can totally be used as setting spray. Crazy buy true. It's an old hack pre-setting spray that was common for stage performance and pageantry. I can't imagine it's good for the skin and completely unnecessary nowadays but it's real 😅

Way back in my theater days of early high school, we would use hairspray as a make up setting spray. When we were on stage, under the bright lights, wearing half a pound of make up already anyway, never ever for daily wear. It’s a theater trick, and you never want to look like you’re on stage when you’re not. Because that make up does not flatter anyone in natural light.

Yo watch me train my mum(?) twice a week on Zoom. What in the.

so basically their business is to find customers who buy 'the idea of having a business'. the people 'below them' don't realize they themselves are the customers. this doesn't seem ethical. i'm glad you are making content about this.
