“When you are taking care of other people you will never be burned out” she has clearly never worked a day in the medical profession 🤦🏻♀️
This is petty, but I cannot stand how these folks always call their team members "girls". If feels condescending and unprofessional. If my boss ever referred to me as "girl" I'd be furious!
The only other business leaders that call their employees “girls” are madames and pimps.
Agreed! I can’t stand it.
Yes! I’ve meant to mention this in so many videos. After how many decades trying to gain respect and be called women by men, THESE women chop it all back.
I can’t imagine my boss calling us ‘girls and boys’. She’s a cool boss and our work environment (therapeutic horse
Back riding center ) is chill but that is not professional
I feel you ... I cannot stand the "You guys" here and "You guys" there ... "You guys" everywhere!
New MLM drinking game: every time a hun says “pour into”, pour a drink into your mouth. 😂
🤪
Please don’t do this…you will cease to exist ☠️

I am in grad school to be an occupational therapist and we read a book called “Trauma Stewardship” to help us better deal with the burnout and compassion fatigue.
Therapist here and yes, helping and overwhelming professions are more prone to burnout. And the only treatment for burnout is to Stop Doing What Is Burning You Out. Pushing through literally makes it all worse.
I work on a team of 12 therapists, I am not one (I am a CPRS, which is what we call 'peers' in Virginia), but in every single burn-out training we have had this was what I learned. Taking a step back and acknowledging these feelings while getting support and rest has been how I have addressed this personally. And I can also confirm that the helping professions are so prone to this, compassion fatigue is REAL (before doing this work I worked in animal shelters).
These 'leaders' are essentially just wanting people to continue to bring money in for them. The benefit of working that dreaded (to them) 9-5, working for the 'man' means that I can take PTO and not worry about my paycheck-and my supervisor doesn't have to be concerned about how this impacts her paycheck!
Come for the anti-mlm content, stay for the Cooper and Zeke content.
I taught for 3 years and had to leave the profession due to extreme burnout. I was teaching in a low income school and was working 70+ hours a week. I bought every single thing that went into my classroom, and I spent every waking minute worrying about my kiddos, thinking of new ways I could provide for them, and making plans so that they not only learned at school, but felt safe. My classroom was a safe space for kids whose lives were tornados. That job was extremely fulfilling, because I was helping those kids every day. And I lasted 3 years. Because you can not “pour into people” (gross phrase) when you, yourself are empty. Just sayin
You sound like you were an amazing teacher. I’m sorry the education world chewed you up and spit you out. I’ve been watching my educator parents go through the wringer for pretty much my whole life. It’s sad that some of the most compassionate people in the world are treated with so little respect. 💔
I had a similar experience with teaching and left for similar reasons. I hope you’ve found something else to still let your caring and compassionate nature shine but still let you have a work-life balance xx
Aw thanks you guys ❤️ it’s hard to watch other educators go through that too. I can only hope it gets better in the future
i bet you made such an impact on those kids’ lives, you sound like you did an incredible job
unrelated but your kitty is so precious 💕
As someone that was in her downline, most of her calls are like this ESPECIALLY the mid month “pump up” which are just to tell everyone that the numbers need to be better. This Miami team is allllll about hustle culture and showing everyone that expensive, do the most lifestyle.
congrats on leaving that!
Congrats on your freedom!! You’re awesome! 💗😊
Tell me more, tell me more, like, does she have a car? 😅 congrats for leaving this and seeing through the scam.
So glad you left! And her voice is reeeeally difficult to listen to 🤢
you got out queen!!! hope you’re doing something you love now
As someone who worked in retail management for several years I can’t imagine EVER telling my team to not come to me with questions and concerns. Wow.
The scariest part is that there are people who are feeling that burnout who need actual help who are just going to try to ‘tough it out’ and in the long run it will only damage their mental and possibly physical health.
"when you start pouring into other people and helping them live a better life you will never be burned out"
bs. i was a carer for my dad while he was dying and i got *hella* burned out. respite care *exists* because carers get burned out. the work life balance is important because we need time, as humans, to *not* be pouring our energy into others and to focus on our own needs.
Agreed. Compassion fatigue - that many confuse with burnout - is very common with people who work in end-of-life care. Sometimes, there really is only so much a person can take.
I am sorry about your dad. :(
This is SO TRUE. It is very gratifying helping others and caring for them,(especially when they appreciate it) however- if you spend ALL of your time taking care of others - you are eventually going to get burnt out and it could even make a very loving and caring person turn resentful because they are not taking time to care for themselves. You’re absolutely right when you say there needs to be a balance. 💗
Isn't there an expression, "You can't pour from an empty cup"?
I think the fish jumping into the boat comment was referring to a part in the Bible when Jesus blessed the fishermen and fish were jumping into the boat for them - just another example of faith manipulation 🙄🙄 also love your work, Hannah!
It made me think of this scene from Sesame Street 🤣🤣 ruclips.net/video/syJ2p4ouy4c/видео.html
Non biblical but also applicable...Asian carp introduced into an already at risk environment along the Mississippi River. Touted as a solution...ends up being an invasive species that causes more harm. Go for a nice boat ride on lakes streams and watersheds all along the river and you will experience fish literally jumping into your boat...also smacking you in the face, damaging your prop and all around being a huge problem. MLMs...same thing.
I do not think fish jumping into the boat is anywhere in the Bible, do you have a specific verse? Unless you meant it loosely like they had such a big catch. But yes the faith based manipulation from these groups is so egregious!
@@outofsyncaddiction I was thinking the same thing. I don’t think that’s in the bible. I haven’t read the entire bible, but if anyone knows which book, chapter or verse in the Bible refers to fish jumping into the fisherman’s boat, would you be kind enough to share it?
@@jamlisa4696 the closest i could find is in Luke 5:1-11. The fish aren’t *literally* jumping into the boat but they were swarming into the fishing nets and were so heavy they struggled to get the fish on the boat. I suppose one could imagine it would look like the fish are jumping on the boat, thinking about how fish act when you take them out of the water. So I supposed it’s one of those Mandela effect things where a lot of people believe that’s what’s described in the bible but it’s not really.
The look of pure love on your face as you’re gazing down at your cat....precious. 💕
I'm a stay at home homeschooling mother. My entire life is pouring into others. Me time is an absolute must! Burnout can happen to anybody in an job.
what a woman!
@@barrronessa nah just lucky enough to have the opportunity. But thanks 😊
How many kids do you have?
Half expected you to be like "whoops sorry guys can't do the rest of the video!" when Zeke sat on your lap. As we all know, it's illegal to disturb a cat when they are cuddling you. Also, Monday Monat Zoom Calls sounds like a great idea since they always have the craziest zooms.
There have been so many times I've almost texted my manager to tell her, "I can't make it into work right now because my cat is being extra cuddly."
I actually did text her that one time, but I followed up immediately with a "J/K!" I didn't want to give her a heart attack! 😂
@@jenniferevans8653if I was your boss, id text you back "you know what? Fair. See you next Monday"
“I have been humbled by this business.” Proceeds to name 15 reasons why she’s so amazing.
I caught that, too. 😂
I had a knee injury from overtraining years ago and instead of resting for 6 weeks as advised, I just kept working out. I ended up damaging my knee and it took 10 years to build it back up to where it was before. Working through burnout is garbage advice, but connecting it to a gym analogy is even funnier.
I am in my third year of university studying psychology and I wrote an entire 2,500 essay on well-being and burnout/effects of burnout. And all of the peer-reviewed research I cited as sources was related to either teaching or nursing. And this hun is seriously out here insinuating burnout basically isn’t a real thing and its just because you are being self-centred. Give me a break.
I Always thought that those professions seem EXHAUSTING( maybe because I'm more of an introvert 😂)
But you're always giving. Sometimes you take your mental workload home in the form of that one child whose grade dropped or that patient where you don't know if they'll make it ...
So it seems logical to me that burn outs are often happening 🤔
Did any of the research recommend pushing through the burnout and to keep hustling? No, because it’s dumb advice?
I'm a nurse and really appreciate you talking about this.
I was in monat, now I’m very anti mlm. I got cycled in while I was post partum like a lot of women do. These girls were not my uplines, I think mine might have been worse. God idk how I sat through the calls. Thank you for doing this. Anti mlm content helped me get out
I’m so glad you got out, these calls are truly horrible, I don’t know how you survived them either.
Social worker / therapist here. I was deeply disturbed after listening to this Monat leader. Short primer on burnout / compassion fatigue :
Burnout is the state that someone can be in when they are in an environment where structural factors (unsupportive management, long hours, too high caseloads, etc.) prevent a person from working effectively/ethically/morally. The desire to do the job is gone because of these factors. Compassion Fatigue is when the desire to care and do the work is still present, but overwhelming exposure to stressful situations / trauma / etc. cause physical and psychological effects.
What this Monat person doesn't realize is that the type of rhetoric she is spouting is CONTRIBUTING TO AM EMOTIONALLY TOXIC ENVIRONMENT, WHICH CAN CAUSE BURNOUT.
Breathe, Emily, breathe. So much rage.
Hannah, THANK YOU for the work you do and debunking these harmful words.
I actually use that exercise/rest day example with a lot of my clients (I’m a therapist) because I find that most people actually understand that you need physical rest days from the gym but often can’t seem to apply that same logic to their mental health.
All of these calls give me the sense that these “leaders” inhaled deeply near a psychology or business textbook once and decided that was good enough.
I *am* a fitness professional and I 1000% agree that rest days are necessary. I was cringing while listening to her gym comparison. I’m so grateful that you commented on that.
As a fellow fitness professional, I second this.
Thank you
Why are rest days important?
Hi Sarah! I tried to reply with links but YT was deleting it. Rather than reply with my personal opinions on the topic, I would love to have you check out reliable sources. The American Council of Exercise (ACE) has an article titled “8 Reasons to Take A Rest Day” and the University of Colorado has an article titled “Healthy Buffs: Making Gains With Your Rest Days” that are both really informative. You can also check out other sources and peer reviewed journals from sources like the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the Journal of Exercise and Nutrition. I hope you find them helpful.
In 1994 I was briefy a Primerica rep. There was no start up fee, but I did have to pay to take a month's night school to learn what I needed to know for the state insurance exam. After a couple of in home visits with friends of mine I realized I actually had better insurance through Geico (which we did not sell) and it was better coverage for a cheaper price. When I realized I didn't want to own what I was selling I quit immediately. This was before Google in the infancy of the internet and I did not know what an MLM was. Thankfully not much of a horror story but something I'd never want to repeat again. Thanks for all you do Hannah
Your channel is growing like crazy Hannah! You are such a wonderful face to the Anti-MLM movement not only literally (you’re beautiful!!) but also you are compassionate, level-headed, and very informative. I hope when people stumble upon the Anti-MLM community that you are one of the first they come across. I know when I spread the word, I always mention you, Chelsea, and Savannah. My absolute faves!!
As someone who was addicted to anti-MLM content more than a year ago, I lately came back to watching Savannah, and then recently finding Hannah was a really pleasant surprise too. I'll admit that I subbed for her cats, but continue to watch because I agree that her compassionate take is a very welcome addition.
@@cuckoophendula8211 same here! I liked savannahs straight to the point, sarcastic personality, but I couldn’t get past her political stance where her way is the only right way and any deviation from her thinking isn’t allowed (aka blocked). Hannah’s kind demeanor is the reason she is growing so fast 👏
@@karlaf.64 yes! I agree with you on Savannah.
@@karlaf.64 I used to be addicted to anti-MLM content: Savannah, Chelsea and Kiki (seems like there were a couple more - Savannah was my favorite, but it was such a high energy channel it was low key stressful for me) - I just kind of fell away from watching that content about a year ago. I absolutely love Hannah’s channel, and have been bingeing here for a couple of days. Was about to go catch up with Savannah’s channel and now I’m super curious about what political comments/reasons she’s blocked people. I remember she was vegan, but I can’t remember any political content. Can you give me a little more info?
I love this channel. I listen to this while working when it’s quiet
I'm noticing a trend. "I'm SO EXCITED to be on this call...".
Do you think they're really that excited to be on a Zoom call? Saying that must be part of the required brainwashing when they level up.
I was thinking the same thing! They say they're so excited but they don't seem excited. They just seem frustrated and tired. 🥺
It's always "I'm so excited!" With this face: 😐
Yes. Its gross. Even the latest call with the CEO had the same 'omg you are the best. Thabks for having me on this zoom. I'm so excited'. And also dont forget the:
'Take notes guys. This is important
It's always that. I was in Amway for way too longer than I should have. Evrybody was ALWAYS excited, excited about the book and cd of the month, to be at a seminar, about the speaker, the things they learned at the seminar/in a book or cd. Also the push to always be positive and happy.
I am never excited to be on a Zoom call. Is anybody, outside of MLM huns? 😬😬😬
If I hear that lady say “impor-ant” one more time, my brain will melt…my Lord her voice was grating 🥴
This! And the weird lip-smack talking from the other girl (which seems common with quite a few of these “leaders”).
I was too focused on trying to get past the vocal fry to notice that 🙃
Yes! It was hard to get through but Zeke knew that we needed him for relief.
No training provided on a training call. Only In an MLM, I guess 🤷🏾♂️.
Zeke is so darn adorable! I'm glad you grabbed some pics of him and inserted them in, because I definitely needed a cuteness break listening to the BS spewing from this Monat Rep.
I'm lucky enough to be the guardian of four cats! 🐈⬛🐈
You do not own a cat. The cat owns you.
ure living the dream
These people never write out an outline or script before they get on these calls, do they? They’re all over the place.
I know I say stuff like this a lot, but you do not miss any opportunity to clearly and eloquently point out all the contradictions and all the manipulative tactics used by the person speaking and the MLM industry in general. It's soooo satisfying!!
shoutout to Hannah for providing the correct information about rest day to prevent injury from overworking muscles & joints!! 🙌
Your argument for being at higher risk for burn out in the healthcare and otherwise helping professions is 100% valid! Coming from a person who used to work in a group home with foster care kids, now works as a behavioral therapist, and has a degree in psychology getting ready to pursue a masters in clinical psych and my LMFT, I can tell you with certainty that the research shows you are 100% correct and that you are also correct in needing to take a step back being the correct way to handle burn out. What these people are saying here is complete and utter horse 💩 and taking their advice is likely to destroy your mental health. I hate hearing these Huns comment on things that they are certainly not qualified to speak about. they don’t realize just how harmful they advice they are giving can be.😑
Hahahaha, her working out/burnout analogy is so ridiculous. I coach a sport professionally and rest is VITAL, especially for athletes working at a high level. We practice 5 days a week, every week, except for two weeks off in the summer and two in the winter. ALL of us come back from those two weeks performing at a higher level because our bodies had the chance to recover from all of the damage they had accumulated. So yes, rest and taking time off can help you improve just as much as active practice.
Also, loved your face as she was going on about burnout 😂
I’m not surprised she’s “burnt out.” She probably isn’t. She is probably just trying to relate to those that are really getting burnt out.
I agree! That high up the MLM food chain and it's her downline doing the work and feeling the burnout, not her.
Oh good point! I think you’re right
I feel for these people that kept getting fed messages to power through their burnout! I was also surprised that woman admitted feeling burnt out - I imagine it must have been especially bad for her to admit so....
This is so dangerous and terrible and is the opposite of good or healthy work ethic. I burned out so badly in grad school and tried to work through it, only to collapse from exhaustion and had to go to the ER because I was so drained and dehydrated. And that was only ME putting that pressure on myself. I can't imagine having that cult-like echo chamber reinforcing that 24/7 hustle
Oh my gosh that's so scary 😨 my mom always said "you'll sleep when you're dead" which is also a bad mindset...we need rest or we could end up making ourselves sick
I'm trying so hard not to be petty but the way she says "important" as "impor-unt" is making me irrationally frustrated.
Oh my god yes!
"You can be in the ER saving lives"
Yeah, my sister is an ER nurse and has been for over 10 years. These last years have been hard. She was really burned out until she switched to travel nursing.
I'm a nurse and a mom of two under two and its really hard. I am constantly burnt out, touched out, over stimulated and exhausted
It’s all so insane. I wish they could just HEAR themselves and realize that saying something like “I want to get a paycheck from this company every month” is NOT something you have to worry about in any other nORmaL job.
Actually she is wrong about working out you DO absolutely take a rest from the gym!!!! Yup! Sometimes extended rests are necessary!
Right? I sprained my ankle last week- going to work out on a sprained ankle would just be foolish.
I'm totally going to watch these future videos in the evening with an alcoholic beverage. Every time one of these huns say "you guys", I'm taking a drink. It's my new least favorite verbal crutch.
If the “Founders’ Group” is composed of early adopters of the Monat MLM, that door is CLOSED. The untapped pool of customers and downline potentials those people had available to them is now GONE. Unless Monat has found a way to rewind time. So, what the heck is an “Emerging Founder”? Wait, can I still get in on that Declaration of Independence signing thing?
When you mentioned the lady saying to cut out exercise and TV and friends to focus on the "business," it honestly made me think of the signs of an abusive partner, i.e. they try to isolate you and make you dependent on them. They cut you off from your family and your friends so that you don't have a life outside of them, you don't have anything to distract you from them, you don't have anyone around to tell you that what they are doing is a problem.
I just realized how this whole New Age / angel numbers / juju thing is in stark contrast with the advice they give. New Age beliefs mostly include meditation and conscious unconscious thought, yoga, breathing, etc. So they’re manipulating only the parts of those mindsets but deliberately avoids the element that would actually truly, genuinely help with burnout: yoga, meditation, deep breathing, etc. Instead, they preach the exact opposite, go harder. Just more proof that none of them genuinely believe in anything - they just pervert everything to fit their agenda. Seriously, ma’am? Your angel numbers should be 911; call your dad, you’re in a cult.
"A New York baseball cap" is something we would never call our Yankee hats. That was so weird.
ETA: the burnout vs. gym analogy is potentially the worst she could have used. If you keep working out your muscles when they are overworked, you are practically GUARANTEED an injury that will make you unable to workout even if you want to.
Well I mean... It was actually the best analogy that she could use. In both cases you should take off time/rest days and you NEED to listen to your body, so when your body is asking you to stop, you stop.
It's a shame that it was all twisted into a hustle discourse 😔
@@MarciaBelen That is what Hannah said, with which I agreed. I was talking about the hun in the video to which she reacted. The hun said if you"re burned out in the gym, you need to push harder. Which is the recipe for injury.
@@peanutforever2191 GOT IT. Lol, I was just baffled by it
Somehow I think she was refering to NY Mets cap because I don't think there isn't a person that wouldn't recognize the Yankees logo but might have a problem recognizing the Mets logo.
Weird. It is a Yankees cap.
Agree about the religion/angle numbers thing being predatory, reframing things like not earning bonuses or even money in general as a test from God, or lesson to be learned is so deliberate. Telling someone they're where they're meant to be according to the universe means they will look past every red flag and only see the "signs" to keep going.
I absolutely adore your cats! It’s a great little treat when they make an appearance!
I have never been part of an MLM, but I was part of an abusive church when I was in college. There are a lot of parallels between the church I was involved in and the MLMs you’re talking about: the pressure to recruit new people, the constant checking on your “production” (how many people have you studied the Bible with? invited to church/Bible study, etc.?), the implication that if you aren’t growing your downline, it’s all your fault and you just need to work harder. I was actually told flat out that I didn’t “work hard enough” because I found it hard to invite people to Bible study/church. We were actually expected to walk up to total strangers, or checkout people, or others, and invite them to church/Bible study.
These days I’m in a much healthier church, and while I think it is important to share my faith, I don’t want to be an obnoxious jerk while doing it.
Imagine how you’ll have to explain the 5-10 years « hole » in your cv when the company is down and you’ll inevitably have to return to the 9-5.
"Self-Employed entrepreneur" is the first thing I'd think of. As much as I hate MLM's, you do need to learn to do cold calls, manage social media, manage inventory. So there are skills that you can apply to a regular job. How good those skills are or needing to show examples, though, is another story. And that is what I've heard co-workers that were self-employed or contract workers say.
Or if it's too embarrassing, and you did have little ones, you can say you were mainly focusing on family during that time, and are shifting gears towards your career. That's what I put in mine to explain why I was unemployed for a year.
@@vanessar.6085 wow thanks for that!
Gawd this is EXHAUSTING listening to them trying to find a different way to say the same ole thing all MLMs say. They think they are SO unique. NOPE. Same BS, different crap they push. One thing is for sure….they LOVE listening to themselves talk!!
Whereas Hannah I love your calming vibe. You def have a voice for radio.
And all the F bombs. I’m sure there were some that offends. I guess the cool “gurls” think they are COOL!!
OMG I got burned out just by listening to their "leadership advise" this WAS draining. Thanks for sharing! I am glad I choose to watch these and not HAVE to attend. :)
Same! These Zoom calls they do are so exhausting. No wonder people get brainwashed, there is NO time to hear your own thoughts..just their voices jackhammering into your brain..
The way you look down at Zeke warms my heart. That's a loved cat. And now Cooper! So sweet.
It was kinda neat to hear “on fleek” for the very first time since 2016. 😂
HUGE sweeping commercial for Amway and Nutralife the moment I clicked on your video.......
I would be brilliant at MLMs..I don't go out on weekends, I don't watch TV, I don't exercise and I don't have any family or friends.
SIGN ME UP !!!!!!!
😂😂😂
I totally agree with your teaching analogy. I’m a nurse and we always collaborate with a whole team of people. If we don’t have the answers to problems we ASK other people lol. Could you imagine how bad healthcare would be if we never collaborated to solve problems?! And burnout is a huge problem in healthcare. It’s not because we’re selfish lol it’s because it’s emotionally and physically taxing. If someone told me I was selfish cuz I was burned out I’d be so upset.
As a financial analyst, that graph could mean a lot of things. I do agree those negative trends are bad, but I don’t see anything saying if it’s just revenue, net operating income, distributor growth. If it’s related to corporate operating income then those down ticks could be related to increases in the corporate expenses, decrease in revenue, increase in legal fees…I just wanna know exactly what story they are telling because it would better tell us what the corporate position is.
Again, this is just another excellent example of how the distributors have no control over the actual business or product.
the fish jumping into the boat feels like a subtle reference to the biblical story where Jesus told the (soon to be) apostles to put their nets into the water after a full day of unsuccessful fishing
I agree. I have heard on another call where they specifically quote this part from the Bible. Jesus says he will make them fishers of men. As in recruiting apostles. It’s about recruiting. As a Catholic, I find this blasphemous and highly offensive.
“Don’t come to me with your problems” is an explicit abnegation of leadership, not an example of it. Bizarre.
I am always amazed at how many of these calls, the speakers are wearing hats. Shouldn't they be showing off hiw wonderful their hair looks and how great the products are?
same thought
Cos they're bald.
Maybe it’s because their hair is falling out.
The way you looked at Zeke in your lap makes my heart happy 💜
Kathy in Missouri here, I appreciate your work and your intelligence.
I think it's funny how they stress that it's "YOUR business" but they're telling you to work harder, get others on board, do this, do that...... Sounds like they've got a boss....
"I don't know what's going on here" My theory is that she never put any thought or analysis into the whole leadership thing. She just heard some quotes that sounded good to her, like the "no problems, only solutions" one and "collaboration" one and never actually thought about what they mean. She has no vision of her team and of how issues should be tackled, how the dynamics should be working. She is just repeating a patchwork of quotes and thoughts that she believes sound good and make sense to her when spoken separately.
Zeke! He is so cute! I’m not allowed to fawn too much over him otherwise my cat will get jealous. 😉
Love the video! Thank you!
I completely agree about burnout occurring when you were in a place where you are constantly giving yourself to other people and focusing on other people. It’s often the “helpers“ that end up in MLM‘s and come from professions such as teaching, nursing, and social work. All professions that seem to have high burnout rates.
The Zeke pictures tossed in are just too adorable. I’m currently sitting awkwardly as well bc my cat is sleeping on just one leg w her head hanging off my knee.So now I can’t do laundry or housework, I have a cat on my lap! Gotta love it and enjoy it will they’re there. 🥰❤️🤣
Interesting that she talks about how "if you're feeling burned out from the gym and take a break from working out, you're not going to get better." Hannah, you KNOW how much I run. I've lost track of how many half marathons. Five marathons. So far, in 2022 alone, I've ran three long distance races, and it's only March. I was feeling SO BURNED OUT, I took two full weeks off from running. And all that rest was amazing, because today, I had a really good, kick ass run that felt so wonderful! My body didn't feel tired, my legs didn't feel heavy. I just ran happily - and I was able to do so BECAUSE I TOOK TIME OFF.
Part of what I lov3 about your channel is your intelligence and that you’re so knowledgeable in general to be able to break down their bs. Like the gym analogy…I was thinking about rest days, or even if you are injured or overdo it. But you, you went into the whole tiny little tears thing. Exercise actually breaks down muscles and then the rest rebuilds them (totally oversimplifying but gist). Thx for your channel.
Yay for Monat Mondays!
You are doing such a great job at pointing out the inconsistencies and contradictions! The language MLM reps use can be enticing and it’s important to look behind that curtain. Thank you for another great video!
They are cosplaying as managers/supervisors without any education of how to be an effectively leader. Cracks me up.
Subscribed to your channel because my sister dropped the bomb that they’ve opened their business through Amway (🤦♀️) and this channel is perfect to understanding the MLM madness.
She’s tried many times to get me to buy a lipstick or cleaning product (which I will never)…but everything you have covered in your clips, is exactly what she has involved herself in. She’s been in it for 6 months now and I feel she has too much pride to walk away. But I hope she walks away before she loses too much money.
Your face when she said “we’re at 1Billion and going to 2 Billion & I want that MILLION in my team” ahh MLMath, gotta love it 🤪 and by love, I mean loathe entirely.
I worked through (non-mlm) burnout and ended up having a nervous breakdown. Your brain needs rest just like muscles do.
I am a Social Worker and work in a health job and teach about preventing Burn Out and you are right! Even extroverts need time for themselves while being burned out. Also Burn Out in the last step (there are commonly 12) is depression. And I mean real depression, not feeling slightly sad. Burn Out means you overworked yourself. On the way to Burn Out your body and mind give you warnings that mean SLOW DOWN! Take time for yourself, whatever that means. Do something nice for you and PLEASE do not push yourself further! And you're right jobs that are emotionally taxing (care taking, social work etc.) have a very high Burn Out danger - which is why part of my job is to help people read the warning signs and take care of themselves.
One of the most important parts is setting boundaries to protect yourself and sticking to them. If you go over your boundaries again and again and again you will burn out. There is no way around it.
Thank you so much for your videos and I'm sorry for the rant.
I’m in the final phase because I didn’t have the awareness or tools to understand what was happening to me. I wish I had known or met someone like you who could’ve helped me see the earlier signs, because it’s so hard coming all the way back and takes so much time. You just are forced to REST.
@@tamaring2108 I’m sorry to hear that. As someone who was twice just a step away from it, I want to send you a hug to wherever you are! If you need someone to talk let me know. I wish you all the best!
I went to a cat cafe with my eldest on Saturday in Leeds UK, it was AMAZING!!!! It was so much fun and the afternoon tea was delicious!! I had one of the cats sit on my lap, called Tata. I think she wanted the cream 😆 they had a rule anyways, DO NOT WAKE OR MOVE A SLEEPING CAT. it's the law.
I love your cats.
We have a thrift shop in my area that benefits a no-kill animal shelter. There are four cats that are part of the store. They wander around and then, when necessary, they go back to their “living” area. I went to the store a few weeks ago just because I wanted to pet the cats!
“The purpose isn’t to inspire. It’s to entice.” Hannah says the most quotable things!
The fisherman/fish analogy is SO ironic because everyone knows that fisherman don't catch fish for the FISH'S benefit.
Interesting! 😂
Every time I see these huns running these meetings I get Michael Scott vibes 😂😂
😂😂 “Sometimes I'll start a sentence and I don't even know where it's going. I just hope I find it along the way.”
Burnout pretty much is pouring so much onto other people or your job that you have no energy left. Even helping others can be detrimental to your own health, especially if you don't have enough stability to keep on giving - not that MLMs are helping anyone at all, for that matter. It's so infuriating how these women who know nothing can spew so many lies and go unchecked.
I was in healthcare and social services during the pandemic and burn out was brutal. The stories and the emotional toll it takes it’s no joke.
Also, most people are struggling to buy gas and groceries now, or if they're not struggling to pay for gas and groceries they are struggling to save, they're seeing their discretionary income going down. Convincing someone to buy grossly overpriced shampoo is a hard sell and people are not interested in buying or selling Monat's offensively overpriced goods.
And not only is it overpriced, it’s a bad product that many people have experienced horrible side effects from. Some people might have been willing to buy their products if they were awesome quality and actually worked. But overpriced AND shitty? Yeah good luck with that.
Your cats are just too adorable! My male cat Wolverine loves to sit on my lap. I will sacrifice my comfort for it lol. Another great video!
Wolverine is such a cute name for your cat. 😺
@@kellygreen1981 Thanks! I also call him my sweet baby boy lol. Just to make myself more like a crazy cat lady!! His sister we named Raven because she is black like one and we wanted another superhero name. They are both just the sweetest cats I have ever owned.
@@rachels3989 aww. Love it. I have a sweet rescue boy called Oliver. Love him so much.
I joined healthcare in 2020. I burned out after a year of helping seniors live at home instead of having to move to facilities. I spent hours “pouring into” them. I spent hours skipping sleep and meals to make it to clients when others called out, i gave up my entire life to prioritize healthcare. It made it even worse when we lost 4 that were like my own grandparents within a few months (not pandemilovato related) of each other. It left me to a massive mental breakdown on top of the burnout. You have to take care of yourself while considering others
I hope you're feeling better.
"I changed my mindset by telling my team to not come to me with any complaints or negativity anymore." Ya...that's not "changing your mindset", it's attempting to control everyone else's mindset and refusing to be the leader you promised them you would be when they joined. This lady is coming across as verrrrrry immature and "mean girl"-ish.
“You can do it in your spare time, and maintain your work-life balance! Now, work 24/7!!!”
I am my grandpas legal caretaker. I love him so much and having him with me is life's greatest gift.
My life is dedicated into "pouring into" his life making the best of his golden years.... but yes, I get burnt out. So tone deaf for that leader 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
You're absolutely right that burnout is highest in the "helping" careers. Su*cide has huge numbers among workers in these careers and it's getting worse and worse. Social workers, health care workers, teachers. These people are treated like garbage by employers, paid nothing, and are expected to work 15 jobs for the low salary of one. I scoffed when that lady said that, what a harmful thing to put out into the world. It's okay to care about yourself. It's not selfish. You have one life living as one person. It's beyond okay to love and care for them.
Love your approach and your compassion . So soothing to listen to you
Zeke is adorable and thank you for covering burn out. So true this is why I left my previous job. When you are given a bunch of work and not enough staff you burn out.
Hi, I'm a fitness professional & I can confirm rest days are SO IMPORTANT
Omg I could never be in an MLM. These calls are so pointless and a waste of time. They’re talking in circles. Blah blah blah 😒
Cute cats!!
And they just yell at ppl. I don’t like that. It’s very infantilizing
Former home health worker here. I was burnt out for two years straight. Crying in my car in a Taco Bell parking lot between shifts, sleeping every minute I could, no interest in doing anything but resting on my rare off days, headaches pretty frequently, and massive overstimulation. What the FUCK is that girl thinking serving others prevents burnout???
The cat omggggggg adorable…when he looked up at you ❤❤🥹🥹🥹
I hit burnout a while ago and didn't realize I was surviving on it. It landed me in the hospital last year and now I have lasting effects including passing out. If ANYONE tells you to only work and not take a break RUN. It's dangerous and you deserve way better than that.
Omg, I had to pause the video at the Zeke part, and watch the rest of it with my cats on my lap. EDIT: really appreciate the Zeke pictures throughout the video too 😸
And yeah, the whole "positive thinking" and "manifestation" thing can be a form of thought control ("T" in the BITE model) with a new age woo woo flavor. You supposedly can't think negatively or you won't be able to "manifest" the money (nor question the MLM/cult's issues that don't add up).
Monat Monday’s-I love it!! Your Monday videos give me something to look forward to and get me through the first day of the week. As always, thanks for what you do, Hannah 💕
I had this shiver down my spine when she found the note. It's like a warning sign from those before her. Look--it's ALWAYS GOING TO BE LIKE THIS!!
BIIIIIITCH, I "pour into" others every time I go to work in the ER and I am soooooooooooooooo burned out! LOL. Very well said on your part!
Literally just commenting on the point when Zeke laid on you and were like: I can’t press play without moving him. 😂👏🏼 this is so relatable as a cat mom!
Yup.. .anyone can get burned out. It comes when the entire pie is work related. Work is a piece of the pie that is my life. The other pieces are as important as the work piece. And im an RN. Boundaries are everything.
I’m an EN studying my RN and the burnout is real. I have month long stints at hospital, working for free to gain practice and I have zero holidays at my other job because I use all my annual leave for those practical stints. I haven’t had a holiday in two years. 😭😭😭
@@amymckay23 it will all be worth it soon. The world will be your Oyster!
@@melaniemarrone9521 Thank you lovely! Nothing a quick two week mental health leave won’t fix! 🤣
The fish anecdote is a biblical reference actually lol as if the faith manipulation ever takes a break
Thank you for your kind and compassionate approach to anti-MLM. Also, Zeke and Cooper are such handsome boys 😻😺
