Hey Martin. I have the 78" version with some specktrum servos. Is it normal to get a bit of servo flutter on the elevator with no gyro and the plane is stationary. Its like they bounce a bit to find centre
How the heck do you do that spin where the wings are vertical looks like a flat spin but side on I can't get it yet can do most other maneuvers but not that one, any suggestions thanks from nz
It is indeed a Knife Edge Spin. Think of it as flying knife edge (holding rudder) and with maximum down elevator (to make it spin itself). The manouver itself is actually very easy up to this point, the difficulty is that it doesnt want to come down straight, so you need to be fast with the ailerons to keep the wing vertical, because as soon as its off vertical, the wings draw a cone shape and the plane pulls itself away from the spin. Start from a stalled knife edge (no forward speed), apply the down and see how it goes… the straighter the wings are kept with the ailerons, the longer the spin will go for. Good luck!
The best way is to get a RC simulator on PC. I got one from Horizon Hobby. Then, get a foam airplane. Twisted hobbies have a lot of great choices. I recommend the 32" Crack Yak. It was my favorite plane for a long time. It's fairly cheap and almost indestructible.
This was the most amazing pilot and airplane I've ever seen!!!! Absolutely unbelievable!!! Soooo cool!!!!! Thank you and please make more videos like this. Absolutely amazing....... WOW 🤘😁🤘
I love your videos , I haven’t seen all of them yet , do you happen to a video about the transmitters and receptors you use? I used to fly years ago and I had a really bad experiences losing the connection while flying with small planes , now I want to go back but with a big plane like the one in this video but afraid this happened again . Thank you
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC thank you for the promptly reply, and also how did you get any of yours Pilot airplanes , how was the process, I checked their website but they don’t have a shopping cart where I can add an item. Is the email the only way to contact them? Is it reliable? Thanks you in advance.
Beautiful model. Is it just me, or do I notice that the full sized Extras perform better RC styled 3D aerobatics than their competitors? Great video thanks Martin 😀
Are covered balsa ply model aircraft still a thing in 2022? I thought all the vibration from the engine and flight forces quickly works the glue joints loose, so the composite models took over all the sales!
hey Martin, can you advise me on the best buget servos for my sbach 50cc .I dont have lots of money like your self but would love to start learning 3D.cant afford the good stuff :(
Budget wise, there’s blue bird servos, I’ve heard they are quite good. I’ve had good luck with Savox, and pilot RC make nice servos too. I’ve gone off Hitec a bit (not really budget) because of some failures in the lower end / smaller servos. There’s “no name” servos that can perform well, wouldn’t expect much from service n support. It’s like anything really. Depends on your model and what you want from it. A set of MKS high end servos will cost as much as the airframe itself. For regular flying mid range savox or hitec etc will suffice
Hello sir !! Great video and I always enjoy your content ! Would you be able to tell me what expo you like on this model in high rates ? I think I'm using too much expo preventing that crisp deflection you always have. Thanks again sir !!
Everytime I see one of these fly the mechanic in me wants to fix the rough running even though I know 100 percent that's how it's suppose to run at break in lol
@@MartinPickering-PickeringRC it was an amazing flight to say the least, was it prop and engine combo that changed your timing on the throttle. I noticed you would delay slightly until the motor would reach further in the power. Or was that simply getting to know the planes characteristics?

bigger planes fly better, and are easier to see. There’s a limit in size of course, that’s why most people agree that 120-130cc class is the “best” size. Bigger and it becomes too scale like and needs flying slower, the maneuvers are slower and more like full scale. This size can also be transported in normal cars if you’re creative with the rudder and stabs, can easily fit in a station wagon or suv. There’s still a ways to go in size to carry people and cargo… you should try it some time.
Love watching your videos Martin, the highlight of my day,a true master in action..
Thank you my friend!!
another great display thanks for the demo
incredible skill, what is the thrust to weight ratio on that plane?
Great flying, Martin! It’s a beautiful airframe!
That stationary harrier in to wind was pure class 👍🏻
Great flying as always MP!
An amazing aeroplane, obviously in the hands of an amazing pilot. A fantastic video, that kept me Spellbound. Thank you.
I agree with your comment 100%. And exceptional pilot. Today is October 20th 2022
Awesome as always!!
WOW!! Didn't even have to trim it!! Amazing!!
The plane had a couple of trim flights by another pilot, this was the first time that I personally flew it though
Nice landing! 😜
Martin, the MASTER.......unbelievable!!!!
Wow he did the maiden flight trim whilst 3D maneuvering. He's good...real good!
Thank you my friend, well explained and demonstrated

beautifully done, just amazing
Bravo Mr Pickering
Martin you blow me away every time I see you fly. Was a orsum flight. Middle of the road plane always a good choice 👍🏻
Thanks mate!

Real subtle with “the walk” Marti!
Good demo!
Brilliant flying!
All the NG’s I’ve seen/ the one I own are phenomenal airplanes. It looks like all companies did good with this one.
Extras always fly amazing!

Have never flown an R/C plane in my life. Fantastic the way you control the plane. How many hours of flying does it take to do what you are doing?

Did you run out of fuel at the end of cut the motor on purpose?

Beautiful❤
What engine and oil do you use? Thank you
Engine is GP 123cc, I usually use the oil from OptiPower
Needs a bigger rudder 😂
Sick flying 🔥👍✌️
Amazing talent

Built up made a comeback, much lighter than composite airframes, they lead the way in this style of aircraft!
*Let the Sunshine In.*
Oh jesus that is a big plane
Wish I could do that!!
wow, remarkable
What size engine is in that plane? Must be massive
Probably around a 100 - 120cc 2 stroke since it's a 103" span aerobatic monoplane.
Gp 123cc or a DA 120cc 2 stroke gas engine

Wow.
I have similiar size plane ,(Staudacher GS-300) But not similiar skills ,,Very nice flying
Martin, can you do with the airplane a piroflip just exactly the way the helicopters do ?
No. Planes cannot pirouette. The closest you could do would be a really tight rolling loop.
