    I wouldn't mind it if you did a video explaining what all of those privacy settings are in lamen terms. I'm generally going to turn them all off, but would still like more info on exactly what each one of those are doing. And I'll probably will just log in with my Microsoft account, as I plan on setting up multiple Windows 10 machines, and was dreading having to change the settings in each computer every time. That looked like a real pain. But now looks like with signed in. If you make settings change to one, it will also apply to your other Windows 10 devices. So may be worth it even though I don't like giving up some privacy when they really shouldn't make you.

    Jamin, I am wondering...I had a Dell Optiplex 790 MT. Occasionally, the video image will go scrambled. I reboot it, and it works fine for months. I gave it to my nephew. He wants to use it for gaming. If he puts a gaming video card (NVidia GTX 970) into the computer, do you think that the issue will likely be solved? My understanding is that the video card is built into the motherboard, so if a video card is added, it will be bypassed. That would also require a larger power supply. I tried blowing out the interior of the computer. I realize there could be other problems but just wondering what your intuition would be on this. Also, do yo think upgrading the processor from I5 to I7 would help significantly? Also, if you wear rubber gloves while working in a computer, is that likely to prevent static discharges? I am usually sitting in a chair with a plastic mat below it.

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  Год назад +1

      Yes, I would totally use latex gloves but also a anti-static mat or bracelet. That will go a long way to protecting the computer. You can see examples in the Repair Tools list here; www.amazon.com/shop/pcmonkey.
      Also, yes it does sound like a video card issue and yes, most of those in laptops are integrated into the motherboard and are not easily replaceable. I would first try fully updating as seen here; ruclips.net/video/DDv2gJDjfOM/видео.html. Perhaps its just a driver or other update issue. If you do add an external video card, make sure you disable the onboard card by disabling the driver manually. That will avoid confusion. Hope I got it all :):):)

      @@PC_Monkey I don’t get the same screen as you when u press F12 in your windows 10 install video but instead I get this screen shown in this video ruclips.net/video/w3XfE-ghbhs/видео.html and from that screen I’m not sure how to install windows (I do have a installation USB)

      @@YoYo-tn3yp There are several screens shown in that video. What screen are you getting? Also, try putting the USB into different ports. Some computers will only accept one of them for this use.

    Thank you! Your video and instructions are clear and easy to follow. Had no problem doing the install until the Dell logo popped up. A message popped up saying “the computer encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click “OK” to restart the computer, and then restart the installation.” Did that and the same thing happens. 🥹😵‍💫

      1. Was your Dell turning on and working well before this attempted install? If not, what was happening exactly?
      2. Can you run the diagnostic scan as seen here? ruclips.net/video/B2Umoh81QeI/видео.html

      Was working fine. Powered on and got blue BitLocker screen. Entered key. Did restart, Dell logo and dots froze. Powered off then on. Blue BitLocker screen, entered key, advance options. Troubleshooting, scanned hardware and memory, all tests passed, restart froze at Dell logo and dots. Power off. Powered on and did the F12 sequence. Did the F2 bios check. Everything comes back to Dell, dots freeze. Followed your instructions to create Windows 10 install stick and did the install. Restart ended as I stated above.

      @@barbarafrazier9896 Perhaps try replacing the HDD anyway. It may be bad even if it passed the test and you cant install Win10 onto it :(
