I have *never* played this game (or anything similar to it) and absolutely refuse to-- I think my heart would explode. I can handle horror flicks, but video games, the first-person perspective... too much for me 😅

i’ve never played fnaf but i am terminally online and my reaction to that was “how the actual fuck does he know what rule 34 is but has never seen fnaf porn??” i have seen so much fnaf porn completely against my will. frequently not knowing what it was until years after.

This makes me genuinely wonder if Ryan's anxiety is an act. Him being anxious of possibly haunted locations, sure. But a grown man being anxious playing a game where some toy cartoon bear comes at you... Not buying it. Honestly, I'm surprised anyone over six is scared of this thing.

@@Gamemaster6400 fnaf 1 is very certain? It's after fnaf 2 and 4, and before fnaf 3. The most uncertain one is usually sister location cause some people believe it's way in the past and some way in the future.

@@arianakazadi6789matpat posted a video on the game theorists channel explaining everything.
But for the basic run down, the theorists channels will be hosted by 4 different people (game - Tom, film - Lee, food - Santi, style - Amy). Matpat's last videos hosting will be on March 9th, however he will still be working in the background (it's still his company) and make occasional appearances on the channels, one is already planned for April on style. Plus he will still be on gtlive at least until the summer.

Horror games and movies are actually great for anxious people as its a “safe way” to experience fear and danger.

Oh man, 'Slender: The Eight Pages' was terrifying. I was in high school when it became popular around 2012/2013. I watched people play it and my friend at the time and I played it together on our school laptops, I think, when I went to her house. 🤣 I want it to make a comeback

@Vaquix000 if you want a real answer and not just desiring to rag on FNAF, I think some of why it gets people is 1. when you're concentrating hard on accomplishing a task you are easier surprised (like that old jumpscare car ad Ryan mentioned) and 2. when you're trying to prevent an attack but are aware you can't do much, aka lack of control. As Ryan says, it's scarier when you're playing it yourself, and part of what is scary is knowing you can't run away from it. This is the only game he's actually been scared of when it's largely a reflexes and jumpscares game.
I can understand why it might be hard to feel like it's scary when watching someone play it, but clearly it's a pretty popular game both to play and watch other ppl play, so it seems to be effective for many.
@@feztheshep Thanks for explaining. I believe jumpscares are the laziest lowest form of horror though, you just get startled for a moment and move on. Not close to what true fear actually is... True fear isn't just someone trying to come and kill you even in real life, so that's even weaker in fictional form. True fear is the unknown, and I mean the real unknown not some bland haunting with objects moving or some shadow figure walking around - Something like you've never seen or never knew was possible, even if the thing you witnessed wasn't necessary a lifeform that was going to harm you at all - there are more complex types of fear than just "oh no I'm gonna die".. I hope people that are scared of jumpscares (especially from cartoon bears) don't witness something like that because they would actually die.

Now, i know survival mode is meant for thriller gamers, but i would love to see Ryan and Shane tackle a psychological horror game or a psychological thriller game. I think it would be fascinating to see the different reactions between them :)
i'd argue that anxiety and stress goes hand in hand with fear, in fact fear is rooted in it. horror doesn't have to be just gore, scary monsters, and thrilling violence. although if you guys stick around long enough for the story, it's pretty horrifying.

Night 1, 7:10, attempt 2: Learning from mistakes, staying positive! Feeling the tension, and cutting it real close
Night 2, 12:58, attempt 1: Stress is very real, starting to sweat. Accepting a new state of fear and adrenaline.
Night 2, 16:53, attempt 2: High stress, immediately. Brainstorm methods of a potential counterattack!
Night 2, 19:57, attempt 3: Enter new player, Shane! High stress is the new normal, and is as twitchy as you'd expect. Several close calls. Made it by the skin of their fucking teeth
Night 3, 25:00, attempt 1: Ryan's reluctantly back! Not having a good time, but doing pretty well. Learned the names of Freddy and Friends! Still cutting it uncomfortably close
Night 4, 30:00, attempt 1: Shane's back, and the boys are having a rough time. Foxy with the final kill!
The spooky boys do not get their $120 dollars, but do get to keep their sanity and their souls!
