Hmmm… disagree. You tell the dealer which service is required, they tell you when they’re available to do the job, and you book it in. It’s not unreasonable to expect they will have the parts to do the job. (However, I did laugh when Harry said, “I hope Charlie feels better getting that off his chest.” :))

The past year has been the fastest, and busiest and most difficult, year of my life. An incredible amount has happened and it seems like only yesterday I watched Harry's last year's end of year review! I have owned many cars but my RR Classic is one of a few that I remember with special affection. My vote is that you keep the RR Classic going!
Thanks Harry I’m a motorbike man myself but I’m also a petrol head and your vids always are top of my watchlist I also watch your farm ones as well. Good luck for the new year and I look forward to the Range Rover restoration.

I'd love to see the old Range Rover get fixed up and I hope purely for my entertainment that sponsors are willing to get on board to help with costs. GOOD LUCK HARRY AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. ... ❤
I once contemplated the purchase of (at the time) a very cheap Porsche equipped with K-jet fuel injection. I bought a Haynes manual and read it cover to cover, and the K-jet was what really put me off. Many years later I bought a TVR equipped with the Capri/Granada 2.8 and K-jet. After completely rebuilding everything I couldn't get it to run and my local TVR indie blamed the Warm Up Regulator. Changing that improved things slightly. In the end I went through every component of the system and finally discovered a 20p 'O' ring in the pressure relief valve was split. Good as gold after that was replaced and I then realised what a foolish error it had been to pass on the Porker!
Get the Overfinch back on the road......family history is everything!!! Reminds me of your video in the Countach with your ancestors in their cars, imagine having one of those still in the family!
Harry, I love your Utube channel. As a lover of performance autos I get to live vicariously through your experiences collecting and maintaining them without the cost. I am in fact “anti-matter” to your “matter” when it comes to collecting….I have one and only one vehicle that is my daily driver, fun car and long distance road car….a 2010 Boxster 987.2, nicely modified with 120k miles since I purchased the car CPO in 2013. Keep creating your wonderful videos as they save me thousands upon thousands of ducats every year 😎. PS: Love the little Abarth Fiat, my first new car was a 1976 Triumph SPITFIRE in Java green. The best automotive memories ever including a ski trip to Jackson Hole Wyoming and back to Maryland in March of 1980. (Motorcycle enthusiast too…please do a video on your bike collection.)
An absolute pleasure to watch this channel get closer to 1Million subscribers. Great to see the cars on the road reviews near Burford as where I'm based. Will be a pleasure to meet you some day
The L322 is obviously a fantastic vehicle, but one you could replace easily enough. The Overfinch on the other hand is part of the family with all its history, something you could never replace, something that is near and dear to your heart. The choice is obvious. If a family member needed 50,000 pounds spent to keep them alive you'd do it in a heartbeat.
Dear Harry, I am a big fan of your channel. The way you talk about the old Range Rover and what you have done and experienced with it...This car really deserves it to be restored! That will make you happy yourself (if the cost is not too bad). Much wisdom in your decision!
At 80 yrs old next year, I used to be an expert in fixing distributor caps! In winter 1968 I had to replace 3 of them on my 1967 Mini Cooper between Dover and East Yorkshire when there was not a lot that could be done at that time when I drove in torrential rain with the cap pointing into the rain! All had arcing grooves down the sides to the distributer itself.
Restore the old Rangey. Easy for me to say but I love what you did with the Fulvia, the arctic Rrolls but ultimate the Jag Coupe. Thanks for your great videos both garage and farm. All the best for 2025
Love a Harry end of year round up - a rare transparency on RUclips. Not sure I’d get those insurance premiums past the wifey lol. You gotta restore the range just look at it such a great design - timeless go for it Harry.
I have so many emotional memories, Harry of The office in Wellingborough . I always loved them days. Charlie is awesome. Happy New Year, Harry's Garage ❤❤
I would keep the 322.. but I would also do a thorough resto on the classic $25k on body and interior, add another $15k for mechanicals and enjoy it within the family for generations. Sell the older ones you don’t use to fund it. Would be epic for the family and us viewers. Thanks for your transparency, Harry. Yours has quickly become my favorite YT channel.
32:37 - Definitely restore the classic Harry. It's eerie how we attribute joyful memories to certain cars but it's something I can relate to with my own over the years. I regret selling my RRC which was also a Green Over Tan but the 3.9 not that fantastic 5.0! Great video.
I watch this and I watch tge and smee. Harry is just so likeable and transparent and relatable. His son too. I find myself thinking how do we refurbish the range Rover and realize I've already bought into it. Also the use of uks finest automotive engineering is such a delight to see. Thank you for sharing everything Harry and family.
Great video !! You made a comment once when you said this car is not targeted at me, a car enthusiast, it was a Tesla. A car enthusiast you are & bloody bravo!! Appreciate the emotional attachment to the old girl but she has had her glorious time. Let her go gracefully, her granddaughter should do a fine job with the ancestral link enough to satisfy the whole family. There you go, psychological advice from a truck driver’s son in Australia.
Brilliant. This is what makes Harry’s channel so good. A great return to form. And it makes me feel so much better about spending money on a car that has barely been used this year when I see that Harry has done exactly the same thing! Several times over! 😊
Keep the L322, it isn't going to bring in a huge amount of cash compared to the usability it offers, plus would you really want to use the Overfinch as a farm car? I honestly thhink you'd regret selling the L322, and would end up buying another fairly quickly after selling. Definitely keep the Overfinch but contact other specialists who might not charge you the earth to put it to a good usable condition. Maybe sell the Series 1, but it hasn't had much channel time so far so probably has a good few videos to offer.
I agree with you Harry about All Season tyres. I have fitted Continental AllSeasonContact tyres to 3 different cars over the last few years and the tyres are excellent, and they really do work in all conditions and ride and handle well. Nice to have this confirmed by you too!
Nostalgia is a powerful thing Harry, as you well know. Restore the old one, sell the newer Range Rover and whatever else you’ve grown tired of. The memories will come back to life!
Harry you can't sell the famous L322! Jeremy Clarkson would be speechless. For one of the only times ever in his life! It's part of who you are. The Overfinch is lovely with all its memories but that was then this is now. And to hang with spending £50k on it. That's the value of what, ten L322's?! I've always loved watching you and wish you the best for soon to be here New Year. It's 1240pm Dec 30 here in NZ as I watch this. We get it 13 hours before you. Very best from me here way down under in Middle Earth! Grayson
Cannot believe how much in updates/repairs it costs across 20 cars. But I guess every ad I see on this channel helps Harry keep these on the road. Insane.
Harry, you must keep the Range Rover with all the history you mentioned. I would just keep it running, not spend the excessive amounts you mentioned. Just keeping it around is so nostalgic for you; it need not be a showpiece.
Makes me very relieved that I don't own classic cars, lordy. We all have emotional connections with our cars as they accompany us through our key life moments as you state with the classic Range Rover, but you'll be sheading even more tears by keeping it going, plus you have enough of a collection to keep your spirts up., including what is now a great investment a la Countach. Happy New Year.
Sir Harry. One of the most meticulous gentlemen ever. To be able to drive all these cars, review many more, do all those road trips and make these lovely exhaustive videos is work enough. And then, to sit and record all these costs and expenses incurred on each car, is painstaking work! All these videos and the wealth of information contained therein are always to be appreciated and enjoyed. Wishing you the Very Best in 2025 ! And looking forward to lots more lovely automotive content through the year ahead!
Excellent round up and well done to Charlie sharing a typical dealership experience. £50K to ‘renew’ an M reg, oh deary me. Way too much even for Harry.
That half hour passed quickly ! A great listen ... an everyday story of classic car ownership ... and so many stories of post Covid supply chain issues that have transformed service and repair costs very much for the worse. So it isn't just me, phew !! Great !!! As for the LR ... given all that you have said, unless Overfinch want to, I wouldn't. Keep up the great work ...
Great to understand what it takes to run these cars individually . Last year I think Harry also gave a total cost for the fleet. Maybe I missed it this year. Anyway great also that Harry keeps these cars in super condition and uses them quite regularly. Keep going but guess reality is that one day Harry will need to thin the fleet down as it becomes too much. Thank you Harry for the informative entertaining videos.
Worth adding that the corrosion issue on the Mclaren is on an aluminium panel so corrosion protection is quite different to steel cars which are very much more susceptible.
WOW, what a busy year! IMO, you definitely need to restore the Overfinch. Given the history and connection you have with it, you won't even remember the others. Looking forward to see what you do in 2025! Thanks Harry, great channel!
Hello Harry, Enjoying your show from Australia. It is interesting that most people will pay huge amounts of money for cars or repairs but even with their closest friends never admit to what they have spent. Refreshing that you are just putting it out there for all to see. I appreciate that this is out of context with the video put I can't help noticing the issues you are having with after market parts. Fuel injection, ignitions, oil pumps. In my early part of my career I was designing and building high performance race engines for street and track use. I was taught that we never trusted anything we purchased or reused. New oil pumps were dismantled and all tolerances checked and cleaned before reassembly. If we had an issue with oil pressure we knew what we were starting with. Adds a little cost to the rebuild but who pays for a new engine to be disassembled for trouble shooting. The component supplier, the shop doing the rebuild or is the cost hidden in the customers labour charge. Also as CTEK is a sponsor what about a video on selecting and using their chargers. Keep up the great work. Cheers Ian
Gee, the Elan: carbon in the distributer cap dropping on out takes me back in time! Haven't thought about that for years, but bac k in the 70s working on my cars, it struck me that it was a weak point in several respects including dropping out. The fact that still worked by arcing is sensational! Thank you for sharing your cars Harry! PS - the XJ Coupe was always a dream car for me. Loved the restoration project in '23!
Cardiff Toyota dealer service dept also garbage. Asked them to improve wind noise from drivers door, no fault found. Asked them to do 4 wheel alignment, came back with steering wheel off by 30°. Asked them to lubricate squeak clutch pedal, again no fault found (I must have made it up?!?!). Utter jokers, i completely sympathise with Charlie!!

Most dealers are independent franchises and the manufacturers have little control over their shoddy ways. Or don't exercise it if they have.
@@stevemawer848 True it's a big problem right now.
Some mixup by the people answering the phone and he takes it to RUclips, a bit of a whiner.
If I were in your shoes, I would keep the Original Range Rover, as keeping those memories is simply priceless and it will certainly go up in value as well and it would fit perfectly into your collection. Thanks for your hard work in keeping us entertained, I appreciate that. Wishing you and your family all the best for 2025.
Restore the classic Rangie because it’s such an elegant, yet imposing design. Not the most reliable model, but as a classic Jaguar owner /restorer, it’s the pleasure you get from the temperamental ones working perfectly that’s so rewarding. Great channel.
It was serendipitous that you took the Countach and got Pagani to sign it and give you the information on the engine cover!
I love these videos. They crush my classic car ownership dream as Im reminded I might be able to afford one but can’t afford to keep one….but so interesting. Thanks as always.
Buy a Porsche and you'll be fine. Probably.
You have to do your own maintenance.
@@ralphmillais5237 I have a 911 and a skoda fabia. Over 7 years the 911 has been cheaper to service than the Skoda. I take it to a Porsche specialist and everyone there seems pretty happy.
Depends on what you want to own?
@@ralphmillais5237 not always. i have had a 911 for 7 years and it costs less to service than my Skoda Fabia. so far.
Fantastic update Harry. What ever you do will be the right thing with the RR’s and we will enjoy following.
A very sincere thank you to you and yours, Harry. Love your content on this channel and The Farm. Best wishes and I hope you have a great next year. Cheers, mate!
I'll never complain again about my small fleet of cars various issues after listening to the effort Harry goes to keep these gorgeous cars running. Chapeau
A sensibly priced Overfinch restoration could make a nice 2025 treat for the garage and viewers.
It sounds like it would be cheaper to reshell it? Buy a good body car with a blown engine or bad interior and swap bits. Might be a better idea?
Sell the 930 and the Ferrari, hell even the Espada, cash out and use that to pay for the overfinch restoration rather than his own pocket.
I do believe he said restoration videos don’t do all that well. A shame because i really like them.
It’s always easy spending another man’s money, but I agree a nice restoration on this overfinch would be nice.
@@fraserwright9482Worst advice I’ve ever seen. Sorry, why sell two (poster car) appreciating assets, to dump money into a crossbreed shed with very limited appeal? Makes zero sense
@@jono6379 they're all as rotten as that if not worse.
Pleeeeease never stop the motorcycle vids. I rewatch your Dakar bike playlist when I'm drinking 😆
Definitely go for it Harry! That Range Rover deserves to be restored and put back to its former glory! So much history in this metal thing!
Would love to hear the story about 4 E number plate, please!
Great video, thank you!
A Classic Overfinch 5.0 ?
My God, that's awesome !
I'd gladly justify renovating that ! ❤
. . . and I'm sure the costs would be deductible!

What man for figures and specs, amazing. Respect!
Thanks Harry I’m a motorbike man myself but I’m also a petrol head and your vids always are top of my watchlist I also watch your farm ones as well. Good luck for the new year and I look forward to the Range Rover restoration.
After hearing about the history that your family has with the Finch Range Rover I say keep it & get it back on the road. Doesn’t need to be concours to enjoy it.
Always enjoy your videos so thank you very much & I look forward to your adventures in 2025. 😊
I'd love to see the old Range Rover get fixed up and I hope purely for my entertainment that sponsors are willing to get on board to help with costs. GOOD LUCK HARRY AND KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. ... ❤
This is a top channel. One over the only car channels that doesn’t have horrible, load guitar music blasting in the background
One of the most enjoyable half hours of 2024, a full resume of the trials & tribulations of the Metcalfe family garage~splendid 🎉
Great year end round up Harry!
p.s. you could really tell Charlie wanted to get that out of his chest
Hmmm.... no plastic bags then to protect the dizzy?
@@damienmills293 I used a rubber glove.
Rubber washing-up glove on the cap - lid from Two Liter Ice-Cream tub wired to the grill (inside) and Bob's your uncle!

Harry is such a true English gent - love his videos.
Restore the old Rangey. Easy for me to say but I love what you did with the Fulvia, the arctic Rrolls but ultimate the Jag Coupe. Thanks for your great videos both garage and farm. All the best for 2025
The RR is just a piece of junk.
Love a Harry end of year round up - a rare transparency on RUclips. Not sure I’d get those insurance premiums past the wifey lol. You gotta restore the range just look at it such a great design - timeless go for it Harry.
Fascinating. And I love the fact that the Countach was basically the equivalent of your Supercar daily driver.
Also good to see Harry keeping the wing off.
I have so many emotional memories, Harry of The office in Wellingborough . I always loved them days. Charlie is awesome. Happy New Year, Harry's Garage ❤❤
Love these update vids. Thanks for all the content this year Harry.
Excellent breakdown on these supercar maintenance costs. Thanks Harry
Love these videos. Thank you Harry. You are fortunate to have so many specialists nearby to help with these classics.
Totally agree. He speaks sos fondly of that machine I think it would be a source of deep regret for him not to fix it up.
Definitely
but in the end it will be over 100k do you look Edd China garage
@@mdh00000 They're not making any more though...
What a great video, could not stop watching. Thank you for sharing the behind the scenes real life expense of these AMAZING machines!
The Overfinch deserves a sympathetic restoration to get it on the road again. Lovely car. The Turbo S is stunning.
God this year has gone quickly, it doesn’t feel like I watched last years 12 months ago! Happy new year Harry, looking forward to more videos.
I love the fact that you bring the receipts - here and on the farm.
Brilliant insight into the reality of owning classic cars. Thank you for this amazing content.
Happy holidays Harry, thanks for all the great content!
Who'd get tired of any of the cars in Harry's garage? I'm not a fan of 811s, though - I'd sell that. (I'll get my coat.)
Agreed.

Thank you, Harry, for sharing your precious metals with us and giving an open and honest insight in the costs. Great collection of very nice cars😃👍
Thank you, Harry, for treating us like your children and explaining every detail of your garage. You are like a father figure for us!
24:02 - glad you also had the brakes done, after putting in the big block engine.
Would you ever do a video about the history of your Number plates? 4E and ELVIY look brilliant.
Would love this!
He also still owns 'm4 ser' from when he had a new Maserati Ghibli Cup
Excellent round up and well done to Charlie sharing a typical dealership experience. £50K to ‘renew’ an M reg, oh deary me. Way too much even for Harry.
Merry Xmas & Happy new Year Harry!🎉
That half hour passed quickly ! A great listen ... an everyday story of classic car ownership ... and so many stories of post Covid supply chain issues that have transformed service and repair costs very much for the worse. So it isn't just me, phew !! Great !!!
As for the LR ... given all that you have said, unless Overfinch want to, I wouldn't. Keep up the great work ...
Harry, restore the Range Rover, the love for it is greater than the regret of losing it and memories mean more...
Another great year Mr M. Fantastic content throughout - thoroughly enjoy them, the detail, the passion, the knowledge etc.
Cheers Ian
I would love to see the RR classic brought back to life
Just don’t hire Edd China to get it restored.
It would take 6 years
Love your honesty and integrity. Being a bike & car enthusiast of ur generation, ur taste is impeccable. Ongoing fan.
Distributor caps and rotor arms - happy days😊
plugs and points .happy days .
I remember fitting a rev limiting rotor arm ( 6900 rpm ) in my 60’s Lotus Cortina . Bring back the oldies .
In my humble opinion, I’d spend the money (your money😂) on the classic as you’ll get your money back and it is simply fabulous. I’d also keep the l322 for your farm work as you know it’s a good one.
I’d also like to say thank you for your fabulous channel. I’ve watched from the start and it is by far the best motoring channel on RUclips. Thank you for what you do, and don’t change anything. The mix of road trips, reviews and restorations are just perfect. Thank you
