- The stock turn signal bar on my 2016 Heritage Softail is so wide it looks funny without the bags on.
In this video I replace the stock Harley-Davidson rear turn signal bar with an aftermarket unit. The replacement procedure is the same for most Harleys, and it's so easy that even I can do it!
I used Biker's Choice brand, but there are several others similar.

Simple and great video. You made it so much easy. 👍
Always hated the heritage softail long awkward looking tail lights which is why I liked the deluxe better. Didn’t even know they made these plug and play kits. Looks great.
got a 2016 heritage as well.. recently been riding without the saddlebags and such.. and yeah, those blinkers look GOOFY without the bags on.. thanks for the video.. this is gonna be my next modification. thanks for sharing.
That is a huuuge improvement.
Thanks for posting this about to order mine and do the same
Outstanding video. Made changing out my blinker bar 2003 FLSTC so much easier.
Thanks! Glad to hear you have successfully converted :)
Thank you sir. I'm starting late in life working on my Heritage Softail 04
first damn change to my 07. its a deluxe turn signal set.
Awesome Video! Thanks for getting straight to business
Ordered a new bullet rear signal light bar yesterday. And hard bags. For my heritage classic. I agree those signal lights suck. Same bar I ordered 😂
Look great sir, same as fitted to my softail deluxe, regards Michael United Kingdom 🇬🇧
perfect!
100% better!
What size bolts were on the turn signal bar
Excellent thanks man
The original reasons for the wonky turn signal lights was a federal requirement stating the minimum required distance between the lights. Back in the 80s this was put in place and removed sometime in the 2000’s.
Rumor that I hear is the requirement was removed due to pressure from manufacturers so they could make bikes more sleek, and because riders were just removing them as they were ugly. Slimmer and more stylish lights were not as likely to be removed.
A very small distance makes the turn signals or the stop signal less noticeable. This is our safety!
Thumbs up excellent thought
sharp bike there kojak
The lens are same size as stock?
Where did you purchase these?
Got this from Amazon. Brand name is Biker's Choice. Cost was approximately $130 US
I wonder what year and model this bike is.
2016 Heritage Softail
Would’ve been a lot easier to take the shocks off drop the tire down to reach behind that fender…
Is there any interference with your saddlebags on?
They touch the saddlebags very slightly. Not enough to damage anything.
Nice 👍 ...where did you get the cool sissy bar ?
Thanks! It’s called the Cycle Visions Dagger Sissy Bar. Revzilla and J&P have it.
