I upgraded from an M1 11 inch iPad Pro. The new display, thickness & weight are all “nice to haves”, but it was the upgraded neural engine that convinced me to take the leap to M4. Truth is 2024 iPad pro m4 is great device with best display of just about any mass consumer product, ipad os is software limiting but real problem is to high price‼️
I really couldn’t justify spending the $1,000 on the iPad Pro. Maybe another time but trying to figure out which to buy was a nightmare. I went with the iPad Air M2 😅
My iPad Pro broke and all my save files from my art is gone luckily some save on the cloud but now it’s just like I can’t even like sculpt or draw anymore and I can’t even go out in portable to draw I mean, I will pay money to go to the Apple Store to get my iPad repaired from an Apple expert with the soldering iron and chips but if that doesn’t happen, I’ll just switch to some something else. Maybe Apple doesn’t want my money.
I bought the same one and broke it 2 weeks later the power button got stuck and apple refused to replace the iPad. Apple quoted me 999$ to repair. It's very easy to break
My 2018 has the same issue. I just use the accessibility dot on screen to hard reset it. I have to buy new apps on my other iPad before putting it on my broken iPad pro because of the stupid double press power button to purchase requirement.
I don't get why people are pissed about the apple tablet not acting like a laptop when apple already sells laptops. Although it'll be nice if they had something like what Samsung offers with dex mode, but knowing apple that may never happen.
The thing about the iPad pro is that it's not a device meant for professionals but it wants to market and charge a price that's meant for them. Apple's closed ecosystem is also hurting the device as if you wanted desktop class alternatives instead of watered down mobile versions of the "pro" apps... You can't. The watered down app versions also hurt the device especially if you want to get the most out of it with a keyboard! You also get burned for buying an iPad over a Mac as at least on the Mac you get a paid license to the exclusive software Apple pushes meaning hey you own it, one purchase of a fully featured app and boom one and done. I don't even own an iPad, the only apple product I own is an m1 MacBook air, and even then I use Fedora ashai on that more than raw macos. I just want to call the bs while I see it!
