i did that without taking out the struts and tie rods. bit tighter but can be done
Thank you for the video! I may be doing this job for a friend in a few weeks.
Mine came off the bolt that is screwed into the chasis can i still put a new one even tho the tip was stripped a bit
Do you have torque specs for each bolt?
Thanks man!
Could you use a pickle fork to separate the control arm from the brake hub?
What is the recommended torque for the control arm bolts?
According to the Chilton's manual for Versa 2007-14: Control arm pivot bolts/nuts are 88 ft-lbs for the front, 109 ft-lbs for the rear. (except for 2007, which is 102 ft-lbs for rear)
alright ! thanks for the video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Torque specs information?
It's is ok to do left side for now I'm on a budget? Or we gotta do it same time?
1:19 Would it be safe for the control arm to lift it from this point (in the center of the arm)? I just want to simulate the weight of the car without lowering it to the ground. Is the control arm strong enough or it will bend?
It would probably bend am not sure about the strength of the control arm to use it as a lift point
Thanks man. this video was rather helpful
Remind me never to take a car to you.....
Thank you for the technique
Do you remember the year of this versa? Please.
Muy bueno ,la rótula tenía como un seguro para sacar con llave Allen ,como se saca ese seguro, muchas gracias
What brand would you recommend for the control arms or would you stick with the OEM?
mattrc77 if you ain't trying to save any money then the oem would be the best option
Dullah Goso hard believe it or not I actually went to the Nissan dealership and they installed aftermarket parts on my car when I thought I was getting Nissan manufacturers.
mattrc77 wow that's crazy well now we learn that the first place to to try is aftermarket parts, if we can get them and if not go to the dealership only when we can't get the parts aftermarket
I went with Moog replacement control arms. Got them "used" on Amazon. The box was open but they were brand new. 30$ for left and right lower control arms. Was a good deal considering it was a good brand.
Manufacturer of control arms doesn't matter the quality doesn't have to be anything special it just has to have the right geometry OEM parts are only important for electronics smog devices and anything with too many moving parts
Would a ball joint seperator pickle fork help get that first bushing off?
No! All he had to do is unbolt the two bushing bolts and it would have lowered out he did too much too much help is not help
Yes, a ball joint separator works great and you don't have to take off the three extra bilts, just the one holding the knuckle in. It will probably tear up your grease boot, so only do it if you are replacing your lower control arm.
I'm in jamaica. Where do I get a control arm for my nissan note 2014.
Try Amazon or eBay
Just quoted $1100 at dealership today to replace both. Yikes!!!
Did you preload the bushings before tightening the screws? I am doing this today for my vehicle and I heard you could tear your bushings if you tighten them while not at ride height.
Mickey Kalima naah i never preload anything i just put them up like always and i never damage anything
Dullah Goso hard cool thanks for the insight. I used this video for my 09 versa hb it was the most helpful one on youtube. Thanks again I wont worry about it now.
Did mine a month ago. No issues so far. Rides much better than before.
This bushing design doesn't require preload and there was no need for him to disconnect the tie rod end or the steering knuckle to strut
How long did this take you?
Like 10 to 15 minutes
Twice as long as it had to
Must be no salt where this is
Torch. A liitle bit of heat. And pop right off. Way too much work...
Are you Guyanese?
No i am a Jamaican
Is an alignment required after install? Thanks
Yes you should align the car after
No totally non-adjustable the problem is this know-it-all did disconnect is steering knuckle two strut which may need camber adjustment but he never needed to take that off all they had to do was unbolt the bushings he's doing too much
