      It is sort of heavy though? If it’s a Tenere 700 price, but 30kg lighter (but with just over half the power) is that so special? I think it looks good but will come down to the price. There’s a lot of 450 twins out there now for under £6k, so BMW will have their work cut out for them.

      A 450 twin. I dunno, everything involved in making a twin, and only a 450.
      But I'm a KTM guy so I dont full understand BMW-ism. I would guess this 450 weighs more than my 690 Enduro, and makes almost 30 less HP. But it says BMW on it and it looks cool.
      BMW is really getting the full size GS up to size, new classes will have to be held as to how ride the thing off road.
      The 6 cylinder bikes..................must be a Euro thing. Massive beyond most people's wildest dreams.

      ​@@PeakMotorcycles 30kg is a huge weight savings. Think of it this way, your Kove 450 is 175kg full of fuel, would you rather take that off road or a tenere on more difficult stuff? I own a Kove 450 also and would rather take the lighter bike 95% of the time.

      You have a gap for a few hours 🤣. I had to sleep for 4h and am now about to head back to EICMA to continue filming. I’ve 22 more videos from day 1 to edit and whatever I can film today so take your time!

      For me, it’ll come down to the price and weight. If BMW keep it A2 licence compliant it’ll be pushing 180kg, and also the price. It’s a busy segment right now. If it’s twice the price of the competition, and a lump, the fun may be more easily had elsewhere.

      @ It’ll basically have to outgun the CF Moto 450MT - a full 48bhp would be nice but BMW would sell even more to us experienced riders if they produce a full fat motor of around 55bhp+. Manufacturers have got to realise that full licence holders will buy many more of this category of bikes if catered for - can’t be that difficult to de-restrict with some forward planning. Also, if the price is competitive they may be onto winner.

    That f450gs has potential but needs a decent fuel range and rake angle. BMW should ask riders what they want, not let the engineers or regulations decide.

    The F450 GS is interesting and I certainly hope we will were it joining the BMW line up in 2025, if it does I will certainly be heading down to my local BMW dealer for a test ride. Shame we didn't get to see both the new 1300 RT and the production version of the R20 as they would have been the stars of the BMW stand, I guess we will just have to remain patient and hope we get to see them in 2025.

      Yup. I did then 1300RT was due, BMW didn't really have much new to share other than the 450GS.

      They are. They just need to hope there’s enough customers willing to buy them. A few BMW dealers have gone into administration in the UK lately.

      All the new design work times all these new models, all the tech, all the styling.
      They are not stodgy BMW's. BMW must really be hoping sales go thru the roof in 2025.

      No word on that. They said 2025. I said so 8 weeks time then, they laughed. Maybe the end of 2025 as a 2026 bike, but no plans yet.

    That 450 looks good. But then - 45 hp, 175 kg, 19/17 inch, hmmh. What exactly is it? Not a sporty bike, not a touring bike. Might sit in the middle and no one buys it? Cheers from an unconvinced Günter/Nürnberg

      I'm also unconvinced. I expect they'll make it A2 licence compliant which means a max of 0.26hp/kg, so any more power than 45hp will push up the weight. Or they could drop the power and the weight. That said, it's becoming a busy segment, so they probably need to sort something sooner rather than later.

      @@PeakMotorcycles If you want a twin, a low rider twin ;-), for about 6,000 Euro, then there's the CF Moto 450. Direct competitor for BMW.

      Unknown, and it is a prototype. If it makes it to production, geometry and suspension is likely to change, though I think it’s safe to say it’ll be high. F900GS at least?

      Yup. Some people are very excited about it. I thought it was more interesting than the 1300GSA but I’d still choose my 450MT vs the hopes from a concept that may not materialise.

      @@PeakMotorcycles Thank you for your thoughts. I do like BMW, just wish they’d get back to making them more “functional”, (my opinion)? Bring back the 600 / 50’s & 60’s riding culture stuff? They’ve made some pretty artsy exotic bikes lately that only appeal to a very limited market. Oh well? Best, R👍🏻
