Don't F this one up KTM. I hope you have done rigorous reliability testing, mechanical and electronic. These machines are not cheap. Therefore, customers have high expectations. I would love to own a GT, but reliability and aftersales support are my biggest concerns.
Me too, man. I love this new GT. It checks almost all the boxes for me but the reliability keeps me away. Just too many KTM horror stories out there. I ride everyday and need a bike I can depend on.
I'm a gen II Super Duke R owner. After paying the high price for this bike, you then have to pay a heap extra to 'unlock' features such as the quickshifter. You will likely be plagued by electronic issues. Oil leaks will probably come from the ignition cover where the CKP cable is. KTM will be slow to act on any warranty claims.
This problem I also have on the afria twin unfortunately, it's been fixed once under warranty but then started leaking again so now I'm just ignoring since the oil loss is not really significant enough to need any topping off between oil changes.
This looks amazing. I've had a KTM in the past, loved it. Still have a Husqvarna for dirt, but here in Thailand we can't rely on a dealer. We have had 3 different importers in the last few years. When will KTM distribute here from Austria and have local service and sale. Ducati, BMW, and Triumph are dominating here!

As a proud owner of a 2019 Superduke GT that has travelled all over Europe, I love the updates and glad it is finally "current" with the most recent chassis - this bike always had so much potential. However, my bike is now in the shop, because 4th gear blew up. So... KTM, what about reliability and taking care of customers? 1) NO handle for a pillion? On a touring bike? Wtf... the old design was bad enough. 2) Glad the passenger seat, is as high as the "marketing managers" nipples. 🤣
I don’t understand why people are watching this sort of videos? It’s all smoke until a rider jumps on a motorcycle himself and rides it. Everybody has different preferences and views on a specific bike. Until you test the bike yourself and find out how it feels and rides, no “company” reviews can help you! P.S. why they don’t talk about some dislikes or maybe some negativity about their bikes, would be nice to hear stuff like that also.
I had 2020 gen 3 SDR and reliability was totally fine. Put 25,000 miles on it. The bike was absolutely phenomenal. But I needed something long distance capable. Bought 2022 SAS and didn’t like engine feel and wasn’t sporty enough , it did have some electronic annoyances, sold it rather quickly. I;ve been eyeing GT for a long time waiting for a proper update, it came a bit too late as went latest 2024 BMW MXR, awesome bike too, but if I am completely honest I miss LC8 feel and torque from the SDR. I am a very fast aggressive rider and have desolate roads to use the power band, but I am still convinced TQ figures of LC8 are more important and fun than sky high rpm HP numbers on the road. I think new GT is tits and I’ll be getting one in a year or two.
I have a 2019 SDGT and now looking to upgrade to the 1390 SDGT. I really love this bike because it's a GT. What I don't understand is why they reduced the fuel capacity from 23L to 19.5L... 3.5L is nearly 60-70km of distance which could make a MASSIVE difference on a GT bike. I love all the new changes they made, except for the fuel capacity. I'll still most likely purchase the 1390 SDGT, but it's such a shame what they did to the fuel tank capacity.
GRATULATION ☘☘
Distance control sounds awesome. So if I am on a twisty road and come up behind a slow car, the bike will automatically maintain a safe following distance while I can keep the throttle relatively steady? What happens if I want to pass? Do I have to turn off the distance control or will it automatically turn off as soon as I start indicating?
Excellent bike. Exactly what I want in my next sport tourer. If it they turn to be reliable - KTM got a winner on their hands. Fingers crossed. It is a unique motorcycle.
Very tempting... I owned a 2017 SDGT for several years and after countless issues I swore I would never buy a KTM ever again. When it works the bike is insanely good, but more often than not a new issue would pop up with either the electronic suspension, radiator, front wheel, various sensor issues and failures etc. Support from KTM was dismal at best and as I'm sure everyone knows these are very expensive to repair.
lovely bike,if i had the money right now i would go and buy one, only one concern with even more electronics will the bike be supplied with an electronic tablet diagnostic tool? and will the bike still be fully electroncially functional in the next ten years?
Stunning bike as said previously reliability and dealer back up needs to improve, I'll consider this over a new Ducati if the confidence is there from KTM.
In Singapore, KTM failure rates r ridiculously high, thus causing lots of KTM riders to have little to no confidence in long distance touring. Any trips tht is usually more than 300km would cause cortisol level to rise fast n hard
I rather chip in your new 390 than this. Thank you. Financially strong and faithful to your SERVICE & MAINTENANCE rather than this galore will do us a favor.
@LonelyTreeSunset sorry don't agree with you.. I now drive a 2022 GT, it also has enough horsepower. Me and my wife are happy that she does not have to constantly hold on to me, but can choose whether she holds on to me or her hand grips. she usually holds the grips and believe me when I say that things often go hard and fast. By the way, I think it is out of all proportion that you have to order duo handles as an option on a (touring) motorcycle. You certainly don't want a top case on a 190 hp monster, it causes far too much instability at higher speeds and sporty driving.
Very important you do the same quality video for the coming 1390 SAS, me as a previous 22 SAS owner has many questions comparing the two bikes meaning GT and SAS. Regarding the SAS… You should have made the a lesser trim or normal trim SAS and the EVO SAS should have competed directly with Ducati Pikes Peak w/ a non semi automatic, 17’s with a non detuned motor, and yes the better Brembo brakes now. #KTM #KTMracing
My 2020 Super Duke GT, with only 8,500 miles, has been plagued with issues. Now I’m being told it’s losing oil and needs a full engine teardown. When it runs, the ride is incredible, but reliability has been a constant disappointment. I wouldn’t buy it again.
Hm, i am a bit sceptical of the distance control. Almost always when overtaking i am accelerating towards the car i want to overtake and pull out in the moment where the oncoming car passes my position. That way i spend the least amount of time on the left side of the road. But in the video, it seems like distance control would not allow that. Or can i override the distance control slowdown by using my left side indicator? That would work i guess.
Guys. This was a low energy introduction to this bike. Get a jurno or RUclipsr to introduce the bike with a bit more excitement. The slowness of presentation does not go with a fast bike like this.
Is it made for tall people? And is the reliability good? Will KTM actually honor their warranty? I've heard so many instances where they do NOT cover warranty repairs!
Yes reliability is always had a concern. had 9 KTMs and love them but when on a tour if they suddenly stop you had better be near a main dealer. There is so much electronic gizmo on them that the normal motorbike mechanic ( and small KTM dealer ) just scratch their heads. Got to be rich to have a KTM these days .. you need to have a bloke following you with a trailer and a spare bike .

That is so sick 😮
I rather chip in your new 390 than this. Thank you. Financially strong and faithful to your SERVICE & MAINTENANCE rather than this galore will do us a favor.
A GT touring machine without grips for the pillion passenger, strange choice...🤔
@@Chr-Re-ie They better be hanging onto the rider with 180PS 145Nm. But there's probably a grab rail accessory with top box mount.
Holy moly, that is gorgeous 😍
Very important you do the same quality video for the coming 1390 SAS, me as a previous 22 SAS owner has many questions comparing the two bikes meaning GT and SAS.
Regarding the SAS… You should have made the a lesser trim or normal trim SAS and the EVO SAS should have competed directly with Ducati Pikes Peak w/ a non semi automatic, 17’s with a non detuned motor, and yes the better Brembo brakes now.

Quelle motivation!!! 😫😩🥱😴
When Ktm will know how to make models without problems i will buy one, now prefer Honda's or Suzuki 's or even BMW's
best ktm i've seen in a while cant wait to see if husqvarna gets this tech what they will do with all this. Super Pilen GT? haha
Very good!
I like it... a lot!
My 2020 Super Duke GT, with only 8,500 miles, has been plagued with issues. Now I’m being told it’s losing oil and needs a full engine teardown. When it runs, the ride is incredible, but reliability has been a constant disappointment. I wouldn’t buy it again.
I love kTm😁.
Looking forward to it🧡
Wow 🇮🇳
when 890 or 990 in GT version ?!?!
Bought a new KTM product last year. No thnx, switched to a reliable brand with decent software and suspension.
i love it, but the old one looks better in certain areas. Also, put the bags on it.
super cool
Hope this bike has test ride in india
I love this
Hm, i am a bit sceptical of the distance control.
Personnellement je la trouve enfin belle cette nouvelle GT 👍
make same type of video on 1390 super adventure.
Wolfi for president! Ständer!!! 😃
Awesome
I have been waiting weeks for this but the lack of enthusiasm in the presentation has left me disappointed.
Very good bike model
Will it be coming to India!?
I'm excited for advature 390
what would an up spec version, like bmw m1000xr or ducati multi v4rs, look like? carbon wheels? what else?
My dream bike is here
What about a good cam shaft instead of radar?
Yes reliability is always had a concern. had 9 KTMs and love them but when on a tour if they suddenly stop you had better be near a main dealer. There is so much electronic gizmo on them that the normal motorbike mechanic ( and small KTM dealer ) just scratch their heads. Got to be rich to have a KTM these days .. you need to have a bloke following you with a trailer and a spare bike .
1290 GT rider been waiting for this since the 1390 duke info was leaked... well before actually, since there were rumours of a rode V4, but this is enough.
Has this new model got the wheelie Control function where you can set how much the bike will let you wheelie?
Just watched more of video so in answer to my own question....yes it does. :)
