Absolutely best tutorial on Brother PE style machine....I just got a PE550D, very similar to the one you are showing and this was the best tutorial I have seen. Thank you so much. Hope you have more to watch. The little dog mats are adorable. Thanks for a great video, I am not as afraid of my machine as I was....understanding all those buttons has been challenging.
Thank you for teaching me to use my new machine! I've had it since Christmas as a gift from my husband, but I've been afraid to use it. Thank you for the help!
Well you sold me on this I'm going to buy one now. I have a babylock embroidery machine but wanted another one and I'm not going to pay a ton for it. So this was perfect for me just like you I don't need all the bells an and whistles. Great video
Thank you for sharing I’m trying to decide what machine I want. I have to watch a lot of videos to know what to do. I’m like you I’m a visual person and have to watch it few times . Thank you so much for taking time to show what you have learned. I’m a self taught quilter but I’m doing better I want to show beginner from a beginner point of view. You are so welcome! Thanks again....this machine...I grew out quickly...so set your budget and see how much you have to spend....then go for the largest hoop your budget will allow. Good luck to you! Thanks for watching!
I watched this video on my TV a couple of days ago. Got some good tips from you from this and the other videos of yours that I've watched since finding this one. This video gave me an option that I could get this one and be fairly happy if I decide not to spend the money for the PE800. Still going back and forth over which one! I also do a lot of crafts including TONS of card making and scrapbooking dies! I do ceramics, sew, glass etching, acrylic etching with Silhouette Curio, metal stamp jewelry and leather tooling to name a few! I haven't crocheted or knitted much in years and my first craft was learning to embroider at age 6. I have ALWAYS wanted an embroidery machine and finally dipped my toes in it by buying a new machine 2 weeks ago that does the embroidery/quilting fancy borders in addition to sewing. Got several sewing machines but this is my first with a computer inside! Keep up the good work! Oh and I have the Stampin Up Ready for Christmas complete set! HAD to have it for the little beggin Dachshund! :)
Just got this machine for Christmas and have been busy today reading the manual and getting acquainted with it. The tutorial was helpful for me as I am a visual learner! Thank you!

Thank you for the inspiration and how tos. I'm subbed. see you soon.☮❤🙋
Great video, Sue. I am thinking about getting this machine. I am a total newbie to sewing and embroidery but have always wanted to get into it! I am also a visual learner, so I found this very informative and helpful! :)
Thank you so much! I just purchased this machine and your video is so very helpful! Thank you for taking the time to show and explain things so quickly and clearly! :)
This was helpful to see that it embroiders are automatic. Very informative. I didn't know about the stabelizer. Like I mentioned I have never embroidered before and I am wanting to do so. I know I will be doing bigger squares for quilts but if I can move the hoop in different locations on my squares then that would be helpful. So let me know if that is possible as well.
Finally, a tutorial that uses my exact machine. they are few between. I love my machine but wish I had gotten one that did all three size hoops. I have a hard time finding applique to fit my hoop. But very successful in finding regular embroidery patterns. I am a new subscriber

I use embroidery thread for top stitching....not sure what the weight is but I use Brotherthread Embroidery Thread purchased through Amazon and my machine does fine with it. Thanks for watching!
Not at all. Most of times I use white bobbin thread….unless I’m doing the satin stitches along the edges where you would see the bobbin thread or free standing lace, I use matching bobbin thread. Thx for watching.

@@StitchinWithSue sorry to keep bothering you. My machine arrives today, so I can’t embroider anything right out the box? I have to get some stabilizer from Amazon
@@Rascott03 unfortunately no. I love this!! I had a question, if I wanted to take a drawing and import it to the USB.. Will it work if I take a picture of the drawing to import it that way or is there any other way?
Anything you wish to stitch has to be digitized in order fir the machine to stitch it. I only wish it were that easy. The very expensive machines will do basic drawings but that’s way out of my budget. Thx for watching.
So we can't use this machine for any bigger sized squares for quilts the the 4x4? I have never embroidered before so asking questions. I want to start so my quilts will have some pazzazz... I am also making table runners and more items that I would like to use the machine for.
Yes, of course She will just have to find a digitized design that can be loaded into the machine and she can create that and more....Good luck...thanks for watching....
Hello, Love your walking us beginners through your tutorial. I found you can buy larger Hoops for this machine. I purchased a 5x7 and a hat hoop for the Brother PE535. I just have not learned more about the machine to use them yet.
This machine only does up to a 4x4 size only. I traded this machine in for a larger sized hoop machine. I’m on my third machine. My suggestion is go for at least a 5x7 hoop size to start. If you have more $$$ in your budget the. go for the largest hoop size you can afford. Thx for watching
HI there, I have a question about the frames/hoops on this machine. I keep running into the same problem where I will buy/download designs and then they end up being too big for the hoop. I have bigger hoops so they should fit but I don't know if or how to change that setting on the machine. Is there a certain limit on how big of a design you can do on this machine?
You can only do 4x4 designs on this machine. That’s the largest hoop size unless you reposition the hoop to complete a larger design….one of the reasons I upgraded twice my machines.
HEY ! Can you add your own logo on a flash drive and then have it used to embroider a beanie hat? Or does it not let you add your own font and logos on it?
Hi ,,, my machine is new i got it for xmas. now that we have time at home,, i decided to open it and try it out but now i honestly think its not working. I started with the winding of the bobbin. but the Start button doesnt work.. ive looked over the manual twice and can seem to find trouble shooting to start.. can you please advice.? Im afraid its not a good machine that i recd.
I'm sorry you are having such difficulties. My suggestion is that you may want to return the item to the store or if you purchased from an actual sewing type store, contact them and see what suggestions they have. I hope you get it up and working soon. Thanks for watching.
Oh gosh....this was from over a year ago. I’m sorry. I don’t recall but I’m sure it was a free design as when I started .... if it was free...it was for me. Thanks for watching.
If I still had the machine I would. I traded it in for a larger hoop size. I’ve upgraded twice since owning that machine They are pretty much the same. Just more expensive ones have more bells and whistles. Thx for watching.
The 4x4 machine can only embroider up to 4x4. If you want larger you’d want to look into a reposition able hoop but I never had luck with that. Thx for watching. :)
What links are you looking for? Depending on where you are located items can be found locally I purchase most of my items from Amazon which can be found there or online. I purchased this machine online from Joanne's. I no longer own this machine. I have upgraded.
Yes. It’s very easy. Hats are a bit tricky but they do make hat hoops. I’ve never tried them but with a few you tube videos and trial and error I think you’d figure it all out. I’m self taught. I watch a lot of videos and that’s how I learned. There are also a lot of very helpful Facebook groups also you can join. Thanks for watching.
Hi! Is it possible to use 10*10 hoop or its accept only a small one? So I mean I would like to use 15*15 (is such exist) or 20*20 if this machine supports such a big hoop of coursr.
You load your images onto the machine using a USB stick. The USB port is on the right hand side of the machine. You may want to read the manual. I do have a video on how to load files and unzip them. There are also files preloaded on the machine you can use to get started using the machine. Thx for watching.
If any one can help I just bought this machine when I buy an embroidery font how do I purchase it do I just 4x4 pes or how do I purchase and does everyone have a site where u edit the fonts is even necessary to have
I don’t own this machine anymore. I upgraded. But when you purchase a font for brother machines you are looking to download the PES files for brother machines. A lot of time they come zipped so you would have to unzip them. Using a software program like Embrilliance would help bringing in the font and setting it up as how you want it to be embroidered. Otherwise you need to add them to a usb stick and load them separately. You are kind of limited on the edit capability on the 535 machine. There are many FB groups for brother machines you may want to join. There are a lot of folks on there that can maybe help you further. Hope this helps a little. Thanks for watching.

Could you sew a picture and put writing on it. I haven't been able to do that. Thank you.
Do other hoops work on the PE535 machine that you have?
No. I have upgraded machines x2. Needed bigger hoops to do bigger projects.
This was so helpful! Thank you!
Thank you for watching.
Where did you get the stabilizer? And what was is called?
Older video. Probably amazon. Sorry i don’t have more info
Does the machine come with the needle or do you have to purchase it separately ?
All of my machines came with a needle. Thx for watching
@@StitchinWithSue thank you ! :)
OMG!, that is so cute.
Thanks sew much. Thanks for watching. :)
i just had a question. do you think you could make the custom bike sweatshirts on this machine?
I don’t know what that is. Can you clarify more? This was my guest machine. Only used a 4x4 hoop. I’ve since upgraded in machines x2.
Hello, question looking at the pe535. I'm reading its a 4x4 for the embroidery can I upgrade that portion to a 5x7?
No. You cannot It’s a great little machine
Thank you so much.
I enjoyed this so much.
I think 4×4 is a good size to start.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Can you make patches with this machine?
Yes. You probably can.
Where did you get the adorable puppy file?
Oh gosh....this was from over a year ago. I’m sorry. I don’t recall but I’m sure it was a free design as when I started .... if it was free...it was for me. Thanks for watching.
Can you put two designs together with thus machine?
It’s only. 4 x 4 hoop. If you have a software program you could. I use Embrillance. Thx for watching.
Hi just found you on RUclips!! Can you do more videos on the pe 535 please? I haven't found many videos for this machine.
If I still had the machine I would. I traded it in for a larger hoop size. I’ve upgraded twice since owning that machine They are pretty much the same. Just more expensive ones have more bells and whistles. Thx for watching.
Ahh ok. You're welcome!! Thanks for sharing the video and congrats on your new bells and whistles!! 🤓
Thank you. I hope you continue to watch. :)
You're welcome!! And yes I will !!🤓
It is the same as any other 4*4 embroidery machine. Just follow Se600 or SE625 videos and you will get the hang of the machine.
CN u use a bigger ring for embroidery?
The 4x4 machine can only embroider up to 4x4. If you want larger you’d want to look into a reposition able hoop but I never had luck with that. Thx for watching. :)
It would be nice to have links and materials used in video😁
What links are you looking for? Depending on where you are located items can be found locally I purchase most of my items from Amazon which can be found there or online. I purchased this machine online from Joanne's. I no longer own this machine. I have upgraded.
Do you remember the cost of the machine?
Can you appliqué on any embroidery machine? Im new to all of this.
Yes! You can! Thanks for watching.
@@StitchinWithSue thank you!!
I am not a sewer do you think I can manage to figure this machine out? I am really just trying to do hats and shirt embellishment
Can i do a shirt or a hood if i wanted to
Yes. You can
How to digitizer my pe535 brother embroidery machine
Not sure what you are asking?
How do you buy your own design and uploaded to the jump drive?
I don’t buy MY own design. I buy from those that design. Thanks for watching
Very informative
Thank you. This old video is still getting watches. :)
could i put a section of a sweater through the hoop?
I would float it on top
Hi! Is it possible to use 10*10 hoop or its accept only a small one? So I mean I would like to use 15*15 (is such exist) or 20*20 if this machine supports such a big hoop of coursr.
This machine uses a 4x4 hoop
@@StitchinWithSue only??
You can use a 5x7 hoop but the size range of embroidery is still only a 4. x4 size.
Thanks a lot.
Hello i just purchased this machine open box and I’m wondering is this suppose to come with a program to upload my images into the machine or no?
You load your images onto the machine using a USB stick. The USB port is on the right hand side of the machine. You may want to read the manual. I do have a video on how to load files and unzip them. There are also files preloaded on the machine you can use to get started using the machine. Thx for watching.
@@StitchinWithSue ok i understand that however these images need to be a certain type correct what software do you recommend
@@K1KO247 Brother machines use PES files. I like Embrillance
Is it a USB that takes a USB flash drive or a USB cord?
Flash drive.
Hi for the usb what format they can be
I just purchase ones from Amazon.
What software do you use
I used none during the making of this video 2 years ago
Can this machine do hats?
I’ve never done any hats on this machine. Thx fir watching.
What is the largest size hoop you can yous on it
This machine only embroiders designs 4x4 in size.

Thank you so much. I’m not an expert. Learning as I go. Thanks for watching :)
Great video. Thanks!!
Thank you. I’ve upgraded 2x in my machine but this little one was a work horse. Thx fir watching.

@@StitchinWithSuela compré apenas pero cuando la prendí por primera ves apareció en la pantalla el signo de ➕ junto con el número del 1 al 5 seguí la secuencia pero de ahí no puedo pasar
This was so useful thank you
Thanks for watching. Happy to help.
So i have flash drive and when i plug it in to see my designs nothing comes up
Are designs loaded on the flash drive ? I’d double check the drive
I have a question can i download an image from an app and turn it into an embroidery? Or do i need to buy patterns from the app
Designs for the Embroidery machine need to be digitized in order for the ms June to read them. Hope that makes sense. Thx for asking.
@@StitchinWithSue okay and do i need to pay to digitize it???
@@Alisha_haniff you’ll need to find a person to digitize a design. I’m not a digitizer. They can take any image and make it into an embroidery file
