I love the lack of Corey's voice due to a severed and broken windpipe and vocal chords. I honestly would have loved to see a scene where when Laurie says evil doesn't die, it just changes Shape, we cut to Corey's dead body at Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, and as we enter the morgue we see a close up of Corey, and he opens his eyes. All humanity is gone. He's not a man anymore The Shape is reborn. Id also love to see a series of films with Corey as the new Shape where the original Halloween theme is replaced with Corey's themes, specifically "Cool kid" and "Corey and Micheal" from the OST.

How Ends should've Ended.
After Myers' body was disposed of in that night procession, Allyson departs, leaving Haddonfield and Laurie behind to start a new life. We see Allyson driving out of town while we hear Laurie's voice over (Same as in the Ends film) say
"New beginnings lay ahead...."
When Laurie arrives back home, she walks slowly towards her front door. She looks relieved, like the weight of the world has been lifted from her shoulders. At that moment We hear her voice over (Same one we heard in Ends) say,
"I've said goodbye to my boogeyman..."
When she gets inside her house Her demeanor instantly chages to sheer terror as she is stunned and morbidly horrified to discover Corey, who was supposedly dead on the floor of her house, has vanished, along with the Myers mask. Laurie drops to the floor, sobbing and shaking uncontrollably. At that exact moment, we hear Laurie's voice over (Same one we heard in the Ends film) say,
" but the truth is evil doesn't die...".
Then we cut to a scene of Corey, with the Myers mask on, walking slowly into a nearby forest. Again, we hear Laurie's voice over(Same one we heard In the Ends film) say,
"it changes shape." as Corey disappears into the thick forest.
FADE TO BLACK, RUN CREDITS
The instant Michael went into the shredder... Corey sits up... I'd have been okay with that.
There is a concept out there for Corey as the killer based on your poster concept “Halloween Lives” Barry!
The concept is by _Jonathan Moreno_ the killer is called “The Scarecrow”
Corey Cunningham survives and keeps the mask of Michael Myers. The mask is modified, “x” pattern stitching going across the mouth like a “Chelsea-Grin” and the hair is now pulled apart and has bangs similar to the Rob Zombie Halloween 2 mask almost, almost dreadlock like. The nose is also darkened, representative of his original scarecrow mask. The dark coveralls have orange patches in the holes and sections that were eroded, they also have large hand stitching. There is a large burlap rope going across the waistline, acting like a belt (similar to the scarecrow Ghostface costume). He also has brown burlap gloves burlap/rope-fur cufflinks.
I love this. ❤ Corey lives! 🎉😂
Killing Corey off was the weirdest decision made in this movie, imo.

I wish this timeline didn't have to end, it had a really good feel to it throughout the 3 movies. The music, the lighting, the choice of cast, James Jude Courtney. Such a shame it had to end.

I had no problem not seeing Michael a ton in this movie. I don't buy into the whole supernatural deal about him and have always believed he was a man fueled on rage so when he was weakened it made perfect sense. The movie was executed well.
Make a Corey Cunningham trilogy and it be: “Halloween: Evil Lives”, “Halloween: Evil Lives Forever”, and “Halloween: Evil Dies Tonight”
That is a very interesting take that Corey could still be alive. If they wanted to continue this timeline in a show/TV series...they could explore this idea even more. If you truly think about it...both Corey and Michael Myers had the same exact type of evil 😈 inside them. I believe when MM & Corey first met in the sewers...Michael noticed that Corey had the same type of evil when he looked into his eyes & we see that big flash moment. So in theory...Corey could become the new Shape being so he has the same type of evil essence that contaminated his soul 💀

Honestly totally with you Barry, I really think Corey did survive, kinda did what happened at the end of Halloween Resurrenction, Corey was brought in with a body bag and just got back up and able to kill again. I think he makes a fantastic new Shape! I really hope they make a figure from Neca of him with different masks (his scarecrow and M.M's)

It certainly looked like Michael snapped Corey's neck there at the end. Although, Corey was hanging around with Michael, so perhaps some of that supernatural power rubbed off on him.
I'd almost prefer to see Michael resurrect from the junkyard crusher! He could pull a 'Jason Voorhees' and get totally ripped apart and destroyed but still come back! :)
Interestingly enough, Corey is 21 years old. In Halloween II, Dr Loomis says Michael is 21 years old. Coincidence? :)

Corey was 21 when the film started, which was in 2019. The rest of the movie takes place in 2022, so he would be 24.

Hell, you could have an alternative timeline, where Corey still becomes his Evil Scarecrow self, but Michael Myers never died, and the two either battle it out again… or team up again… basically unused ideas regarding Jamie Lloyd’s character
Maybe the exact moment Michael dies the evil force transfers fully into Corey and it could show him getting up or maybe just the sound of him breathing and that could be the new shape that evil takes

In the director's cut Corey gets shot off the balcony by Alison and she runs to the window to check his body and see's him walk off into the night. The director's cut will be a totally different movie. Just like kills director's cut had the scenes from the commercials that we didn't see in the theatrical release.

That was kind of my idea of looking at the next series too. Not the not making him speak part though. Just to blend in and savagely murder whoever he wants without anyone knowing that he's the next Shape. He could also carry the Michael Myers around to wear to to get more like Michael Myers like this last movie, just to keep that Halloween part of the series alive still. I just believe that Corey would make such a more interesting version of the Shape than Michael Myers. He's actually a regular guy that is still becoming Michael Myers through his mask. Even though it does sound crazy, it's actually the most interesting part of the whole movie.

Great point. He has to come back. The groundwork has been done so that we understand/sympathise with him. Arguably a better character than Myers going forward. Controversial!

I said this in the comments the other week and got absolutely slammed for it. Corey was definitely transcending at the end when he came back after the knife wound to the neck.
I wouldn't call it "transcending". That sounds supernatural. This isn't Friday the 13th. We need to keep Halloween more grounded that those types of movies.

Lol being I read the book... but going only by what it showed in the movie. These are my thoughts only no book spoilers. I would say Corey stabbed himself knowing that he would come back. He was dead on the floor with his eyes open so yeah he came back to life and had his neck snapped by Michael. Why would that kill him if he just survived a knife to the throat? Using the voiceover at the end, Laurie says evil never dies it just changes shape. Alluding to the fact that Corey fled and it becomes a duel between him and Allison on the road. At least that's what I'd want to see. The ending of the book was... bold. I'm still not sure if I like it or not. But I recommend the read bcz it makes the movie alot better when u have the details.
Whether he is or not, they need to wash their hands of the 2018 - 2022 timeline now. It had promise at the start of the trilogy and it tried something different at the end too...but it was the end (and not a great one at that). Trying to squeeze more life out of it with a 'not Michael' Halloween film/series is just going to be flogging a dead horse and ignoring the obvious - the fans want Michael, not some pretender.
I know right, that's why I never got into the Scream franchise. They never brought back Billy Loomis and the other guys in the sequels. It was just some imposter.
I'd be very down for a sequel where Laurie and Hawkins move to Japan. Their story is over. Michael is gone.
Laurie and Hawkins now in their mid to late 60s just retire in Japan and get a happy ever after.
Corey could be like Michael. He regenerates. Heals fast. Tough.
As Laurie said in Halloween Kills, the more he killed, the stronger he got. She eventually finished him off as he was getting old. He was nearly 70 and managed to literally destroy his body.
Evil is always spoken of in Halloween as both a physical thing and an inner battle with the dark.
Michael triggered something in Corey. Perhaps he seen the bad Corey kept pushed down and the pure evil that followed him, entered Corey.
It's very much possible for Corey to return. Have him just walk out of a morgue or something and it's covered up as the last thing the cops would do is reveal another psycho escaped alive just as they got rid of Michael and the public felt safe.
Corey can return, as said, unable to speak. He has a vendetta now against Alison. She could move to a big city. He follows her there.
A change of tempo. No more slashing in the suburbs. Have him stalk her in Manhatten or downtown LA. She moved to a big city to restart her life and be anonymous. She knows her grandma is safe.
But a modern evil, an evil for the modern age, a new generation, has followed her to the city, a modern setting.
Corey in his own twist on the Michael mask, maybe a different colour or something would be cool. He's driven to get Alison for abandoning him. He said no one else can have her, he's after her new boyfriend/girlfriend etc and friends.
Imagine Corey in the mask, he's on a late night New York subway or he's stalking prey through downtown LA.
It would flip the franchise and breathe new life into it. Whilst letting the original cast move on. A soft reboot with Laurie's granddaughter and her own boogeyman.

They could've definitely gone a new direction with Corey the fans are split but enough people like him and his story decently to continue and everyone seemed mad when they killed him off as I was and original script sounded better with him having a similar ending to the original halloween walking off into the night and then allyson could leave finally and also be pregnant maybe too with his child giving him a reason to go after her and seek her out in the process killing some people and could be a movie called the shape or something close to or similar moving away from the halloween theme and have him to where he can attack anytime through the year

Corey should be the new Shape ! They built him up as the Shape. The way he survived stuff, he even sat up like Michael after the fall from the radio station roof. They totally can keep Michael as dead, Lori moves on out of Haddonfield and the Shape lives on.

You've got a point, but the question isn't whether Corey Can come back. This is a slasher,so of course he can come back. Jason has come back from hell, at least twice. it's a matter for whether he SHOULD come back, I've got mixed feelings on the. Maybe Corey didn't die and it was really an ambulance attendant that was his look-alike.
I mean realistically if they wanted to redeem themselves they could make a spin-off or something
I say they retcon the Jamie Lloyd timeline and bring Danielle Harris back. Ignore everything after Halloween 4 and maybe give Michael the epic sendoff he deserved in Ends

Did they mention his death the next day? I can't remember after the junk yard scene. I liked Corey as a character, it would be good for them to have locked him up being hurt and not tell the public after the sigh of relief that the town as just got rid of Michael. Keep Corey as a dirty secret by the police to calm the waters for a while until the inevitable 🤔🎃🎃👍👍

I agree with this theory. Some videos that I have watched said that there was a contract with Mustapha Akkad stating that they couldn't kill Michael permanently. If this is true, they may have something similar with Malek Akkad. Like Lori said, Evil never dies, it just changes shape. I believe they set up Corey to go on as the Shape. This would give fans an end to the ongoing battle with Lori and kill off Michael while keeping him somewhat human but at the same time allowing the evil Shape to go on not as a 66 year old man but a younger more unstoppable version.
Next film should be called 'Corey On Halloween'.

But I can't help appreciate that thinking of his vocals being all messed up now and so he would actually come across like Michael Myers as he would never say another word. We know he's (for the most part) got the killing of aggressive and young Michael Myers down too so it would be like a rebirth
Though if they did that I would like to hope they won't use the Halloween name and give him his own look because let's be fair here, Michael Myers's look the boiler suit and mask are purely Michael Myers. Evidenced in the film with Corey going out of his way to attack Michael Freaking Myers so he could have the mask and increase the fear factor to those he would kill

Honestly they should just reboot down line. Have it start out with young Michael but the shots are always from his perspective or from behind him never showing his face till he kills his family. His family should be shown as really nice and loving but one Halloween day he just randomly snaps.

@@chris-julian5537 Malek Akkad and Jason Blum had a disagreement in early summer before re-shoots . That's when Blum said his 3 picture deal was it for them thank God btw for that . Malek Akkad went to the premiere but almost didn't .
Blumhouse/Universal used The Halloween IP to boost the shit streaming service Peacock . Kills and Ends should of been theatrical ONLY . Trancas was vocal about this .
Halloween merch / Micheal Myers merch has sold terribly since the release of Ends . Ends masks after release day of the movie fell off a cliff .. Even at Conventions Halloween merch is not selling . I am on trading sites and people are selling off their collections at prices that I've never seen before . Vendors can't sell Halloween merch like they used to at Conventions a friend of mine has been to two since Ends came and he spoke with several unhappy vendors that sell Halloween merch .
And DDG said in a interview that he killed off the Corey character cause his ' words ' I'm selfish and it was the right thing to do for the Franchise . Really the right thing would of been to make a Real Halloween movie not a Christine / Goosebumps/ REVENGE killer that's not Halloween ! More than anything what they did to Micheal Myers on screen was wrong General Audiences will never go for a Bait and Switch again . This is the ending of the Original Halloween should of been more of a mystery with Micheal dying .
This whole Corey Cunningham story is a Blumhouse character now . They used the Halloween IP to kill off Micheal Myers like JLC has wanted since H2O/ Ressurection and if Blumhouse wants to use the Corey character they can . But it will Never happen in the Halloween IP that's a fact 💯. The Halloween franchise may never rebound from this . Malek Akkad has to find a great writer and director and bring back Micheal Myers or Halloween as we know it is over .
