The coasters are gorgeous! So funny to see an old video while you were learning. You’re an old pro now. Enjoy watching either way. “Baja” means low in Spanish. It comes from the peninsula that sticks out at the bottom of California. The color of the water there looks just like that. Love your videos
Hi Julie, you pronounced my name corectly, but if you didn't, I don't mind. Thank you so much for mentioning. I appreciate it a lot. You are right about the casting resin, it has a lot less air bubbles, because it also has a longer drying time and most are 2:1. There are also casting resins that are 1:1, that one I'm using, because it's a little bit thicker. For the technique I'm using I like a thicker resin, because then the colors will not blend to much together. Your coasters are amazing. Gorgeous colors. I like them a lot. You can be so proud.
I’ve learned whenever I get a new mold I fill it with water and measure how much it holds and that way i know how much resin to make. Just a good little tip I heard once😊
I use to watch you doing beautiful acrylic pouring. I see you are enjoying the resin work . Beautiful work I do the same so I just love love working with resin. Thank you so much for sharing
They look great! Gorgeous colors. Little tip for you.... don't get too close to your mold with heat. They can stick to your resin and can be hard to get out..... can even ruin/rip your mold.....especially cheaper molds🤗 They look like great quality molds though! Where did you get them from? Love your work😊😊😊
the colors are gorgeous..LOVE the backside....reminds me of the Deep blue sea, I actually like it without the silver lining on top...just the ocean look right to the end. You learn so much watching you videos...Thank you
You did the right thing in making up more resin than not enough. That way if you DO have some leftover you can put them in little cabochon molds so you don't have to waste any. 😀
Hi I have been watching videos trying to learn how to do this. Prior to this I was working on Jewelry and pictures. I really want to pick up all lot of info before I start this project. I wanted to say thank you sharing the info about the resin products!!! Oh my gosh I was having so many problems with bubbles ruined a few of my projects where bubbles popped up and destroyed my projects after spending so much time on them. So after I finish my current bottles I will switch to the 2 to 1 also so thank you again 😄. I also really appreciated that you took the time showing us how you mixed the products. I didn't know you could mix paint in resin and I didn't know anything about the 10%. I'm actually learning a lot from you so thank you.
I love your videos. I get so frustrated with my resin fails but when that happens I now quote you. I just get to make another coaster. SO inspired by your work. Thanks!
Beautiful! I use resin in molds and making tumblers. I would suggest using nitrile gloves to protect your hands. Some people have developed an allergic reaction to resin on their skin. Can’t wait to see your next resin project.
I’ve done these too and found out if you wait after pouring your clear for resin to set a bit (I used resin that had a half hour working time so waited 20 minutes after pouring clear). I didn’t like the white hitting the bottom and spreading out). Waiting minimizes the white hitting bottom so hard. Love your art Julie. Such a great teacher.
So elated that you are learning resin because I want to learn too. I will be learning with your videos as I have just purchased some resin for the 1st time. Coasters here I come. Yikes!!
With your first few that had the lip, you can put them back into the mould and add another layer. I use my big boy torch all the tine and have never ever burnt a silicone mould. I use an up and down motion with the torch. Petra is great. I used to watch her all the time when I was learning. Tammy Anderson is also very good.
Love the mold you made! Yes, pronounced bah ha - Spanish j pronounced as h. Beautiful Julie! They do have doming resins you can buy. It was great fun enjoying your enthusiasm with you!
Resin heats up when you mix it and the more resin you have in a container the hotter it gets. The thing is if it gets hot it will cure faster. You could split the resin in all the cups before adding color so that is cures less fast. I would give you more time to mix
Wow you’re freakin Amazing! I’ve seen your work and I would’ve never thought you a newbie!! I’m in awe!! I’m new to your channel and I’m always blown away!! Take care and thank you for these videos!! 🥰🌸🦋
@Pouring Your Heart Out I have a few small tips for you! They should help you out (at least a little)! I have been working with resin for a while now and I make all kinds of things (sadly I don't have a RUclips channel yet) but I would highly recommend wearing a mask when using your resin, and to open a window or two for ventilation. I didn't wear a mask and the fumes were strong but I didn't mind it cause I didn't think it was a big deal, but I actually got sick from it. So be sure to be careful and cautious with resin! Also- be sure to mix, mix, mix that resin to avoid bubbles later from not being fully mixed. The stir time is different with each different type of resin, whether it be a 2;1 ration or a 1;1 ratio. Mixing is very important! You can (almost) never have to much glitter, you can always add and subtle white pigmented shimmer (like a fine mica powder) on top of another color and it will give it more shimmer and shine without changing the color at all! Also- when creating things with a marble effect, like geodes, I usually pour it in a circle to get the pattern that I want. because sometimes if you do that, the colors blend to much and you just a bunch of one similar color instead of a bunch of colorful 'layers' like you would find in a real geode. And I usually start it the corner or in the dead center to ensure that the 'circle' shape stays and looks more circle-like instead of a messy blob! and doing this technique will keep it from 'closing in' and blending together (like it did in this video, which resulted in the pieces of broken glass/mirror to be covered in color and are no longer seen) And to make things blend (like the dark blue) you could use a thin toothpick to BARELY swirl the blue and it will mix with the other blues and it will look more natural, but don't mix it to much or it with fully blend. You can also buy a 'mold release' spray to help get your resin out of your molds without any troubles!
Those are beautiful and yes, I’m definitely thinking about doing some resin now. I already do pour painting and think resin is so very pretty, I’ve just always been afraid of resin.
Rather than chucking the leftover resin Mixed Media Girl has some diamond paper weight Moulds and she just layers in the leftover resin on top of previously added and cured resin. They look so cool l! 😎
Julie... The places that you said was milky. That is caused by the white acholol ink. That is the kind of affect/effect alot of try to achieve. Nice job.
Just a tip but if you used silicone mixing sticks instead of plain wood sticks, you reduce bubbles quite a bit. Also if resin is cold it will create bubbles. Mixing too fast will also create way to many micro bubbles specially if your using a thicker casting resin for deeper molds.
Welcome to the creative world of resins! It would have been good to draw the outside colour into the transparent with a toothpick. I have Camacho moulds nearby for any leftover resin I have faces as well and a tiny baby mould so that nothing is wasted. I think it is better without the silver. I bought some acrylic paint pens recently and I’m Prestatyn impressed with them for a touch up if a bubble does come up when it’s drying. They’re expensive but good.
i've found that when i let me resin sit as i'm mixing colors i have less bubbles. i also how i mix the resin and the brand as well. that way i don't have to use the heatgun. i also have noticed puting the resin and hardener in a warm bath helps too before combining also make sure your resin is completely mixed. sometimes you can mix for the right time but if you look from the side, you will see that there are still wispys which means the mixture isn't mixed
Hi Julie love your channel where did you buy that good mould from please and where do you buy your glass bits. Everywhere I look are so expensive and you only get a small packet.
Dear Julie, you are amazing ☺️ thank you for sharing so much informations. Really, there are a loooot tips and tricks in your videos. Such as that marker trick 😄 I bought them yesterday and want to try them but the ink couldnt came out hahaha I thought that something is wrong and want to go back to the store to check 😂 But now I tried that click and it is working 😃😂 💋 P.S. obiously there is no need to commment your work but it is amazing 🤗
They look stunning. I would recommend using Isopropyl Alcohol to spray onto the resin to pop bubbles. Much better than using a naked flame torch. Silicone can withstand oven temperatures but from what I've been told, a flame/torch will gradually damage your moulds because they cannot withstand such high heat temperatures x
love the colors. they came out beautiful. yes you can use paint just a few drops Resin Art is good if you can get it in your area you also can mix sand glitter as well you can use a finger nail file to take of the over flow or a craft knife Sue Findlay she is amazing with resin
I can’t get my pillows for acrylic right. But I’m ok in my resin part. I’m from USA and found Petra molds n shapes and they are so worth it. I’ve learned each coaster is a total of 2oz for a perfect fill. I put 1oz clear down then do all my colors and blend to my liking then at end top coat solid 1oz resin.
Take some alcohol and put it on a rag and use that to wipe ur hands. Its great for getting resin off. Also u can use a skewer or toothpick to get the bubbles around the edges better. If u put alcohol in a spray bottle u can spritz the resin to remove bubbles too
Please dont use alcohol to clean resin off your hands, it is great to clean of your tools and such with, but alcohol breaks down the resin and it can seep into your skin. Use baby wipes or that orange hand cleaner
Beautiful! But one quick question why is the paint pen so expensive just wondering if there is a difference because I have some I haven’t paid some much for, but if it’s more realistic or something then I can see why, but thank you for sharing it’s beautiful

Thankyou Petra. I'll see if I can find a medium viscosity casting resin in Australia :)
I’ve learned whenever I get a new mold I fill it with water and measure how much it holds and that way i know how much resin to make. Just a good little tip I heard once😊
Great idea!
I feel so blessed by being able to watch you make art! You just never give up.
That was so much fun to watch. And relaxing,,,lol
I love watching you. I just want to flight there and create with you. You have so much fun.

Ahhh! Casting resin...that makes sense. I adore Petra, I've ordered her pigments. This is the best colour combo ever....

Julie, these are really pretty. Love these colors.
Love that color×
With your first few that had the lip, you can put them back into the mould and add another layer. I use my big boy torch all the tine and have never ever burnt a silicone mould. I use an up and down motion with the torch. Petra is great. I used to watch her all the time when I was learning. Tammy Anderson is also very good.
Thank you so much Gayle.
Amazing how they turned out! You did well Julie and making look so easy! Thank you for your video😊🌟😊🤗🥰😊
I love watching all your videos, you’re so informative and clearly love doing what you do it’s a pleasure to watch x

so glad u told us about csating resin,, who knew not me either....
I really liked the outcome, I will try it. I am sure they will not look as beautiful as yours but I still want to try :)

Beautiful flowers
Kanella Ciraco does amazing pours and resins but she is really creative with the pigments and mica. Including with acrylics. The effects are amazing,

Oh my gosh! These came out SO BEAUTIFUL! I love these!!! 😃
Where did you purotbe new mold from and what’s it called? Love the outcome!
Look great.

I wish I saw this video before ordering epoxy resin lol. It just came in today too!
Nice😍
I can't find the molds you have. May i get link from you
Is the white piñata you always use and paste like sinker ink?
Julie... The places that you said was milky. That is caused by the white acholol ink. That is the kind of affect/effect alot of try to achieve. Nice job.

Beautiful what is the name of the bottle of glitter glass please

You've got the Midas touch!
hot air expands which in turn makes the bubbles more buoyant which makes them head for the surface.
Pretty
Those turned out beautiful. Thank You For Sharing! Question: Does the resin have a strong odor?
Nope
Does that kind of resin have a strong smell?
what are the resins called? so i can order them.
Beautiful! But one quick question why is the paint pen so expensive just wondering if there is a difference because I have some I haven’t paid some much for, but if it’s more realistic or something then I can see why, but thank you for sharing it’s beautiful
