Julie, I am so glad you found resin and are enjoying doing your coasters. I've made a few coaster sets myself. I took on a huge project. I made my daughter a table top made totally our of resin. It's 40 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick. She wanted the colors of a sky at sunset. It has pinks, purple, yellows, orange, gold, blue and white. It turned out really cool. Kind of like doing a giant round coaster! It was a bugger to do. I now have to figure out what to do about a pedestal for it. Thank you for sharing your talent.
They look great. Love watching you do your acrylics and now really enjoying watching your resin journey. I get all my resin supplies from Just Resin an Australian supplier. Beautiful pastes and mica powders incase you are looking for Australian supplier
Nola McGrath Hi Nola I use the diamond cote for coasters and the art cast for jewellery- I use the fast cast when doing bangles as easier to pour into the moulds. Had some disasters withe the diamond cote 🤣I do have the art resin but never actually used it so not sure how that works. Love the colours they sell.
Thank you so much.Love your classes and the end products are gorgeous! Do appreciate you telling us of any happy accidents because they do turn into happy surprises. Take care and do enjoy ALL your videos. Blessings always.
I love how this turned out! I also love that you've been posting daily! Some thoughts i have one this one: i feel that if you're looking for a "natural geode" look, the ones where you make the very center or the tip of each triangle make the most sense, like your video number 836. I don't see how a natural geode could have a darker color in the middle like that. It works really well with the circular coaster because it looks like a sliver of geode! but the triangle-ish shaped ones would be a slice of a geode that was cut into pie shapes. Just a thought but i really love your content and will continue to watch as you learn more and more about resin!
loving working with resin. I was scared also and now it's just so natural. These are just stunning. Headed to order some more geode coasters. Thank you for this video. Very informative and you are such a doll. Hugs!
Really beautiful! One side note. Alcohol inks don’t need to be shaken, only the alcohol ink mixatives (metallics). That’s what I mainly do for my art. Thanks again for sharing with us all!!
Hey Julie 🌼!! So I like these coasters please don't get me wrong BUT I'm looking at the Pour's dear... You could do these coaster once a week and do the rest of the week pouring days... 😉.... Nevertheless, the coasters are beautiful.... Stay healthy and love greetings your Katharina from Vienna 🎀🌺🐾
Beautiful! Love how your technique is changing as you are learning. I like the dark side better. I really like the round "leftover" coaster. Maybe that one is a paperweight! Your own style is developing, also! Take care and stay safe!
Love these, I prefer the darker side up! Such an informative video I'm a newbie to resin art and I'm also in Australia so its great to see which Australian products you source. Thank you for sharing!
These are pretty. I love the pearl ex mica powders because they are light and float to the top to add depth and lacing. The pastes are heavier and sink.
Solid Solutions White Pigment paste is the best white available for making lacing in resin. I have been using it for years. Their other colours are great too. They also make good resins,
Pouring Your Heart Out I use my heatgun in the resin to produce the lacing. I am making resin paintings, not coasters. I make coasters and Petrie dishes with my spill over resin in different moulds.
Hello have you ever tried putting in the broken glass after everything has dried when you do the top doming coat? Because often times the back doesn’t look as good on coasters but the broken glass looks amazing. If only I can have the glass reflect on the other side and wondered if you had already tried this method ?
They turned out really neat. As you liked the one with the two different colors as you had run out of the Baja, I do too. And on the round, I like the top better than the bottom.
Love these ones! You can put your mirror pieces down where you want them before you start pouring the resin in. I like the white side best! Both are cool
I never know how much resin to make up! I either make too much or not enough. Is this something that just comes with time! Obviously I don’t want to waste any x
Hi Julie, I love watching your videos. I bought the mold that you are using. I have made some coasters and have interest In someone purchasing a set but have no idea how to price them any ideas? I would like a bigger one like this mold. Have you seen a bigger mold? .Thanks in advance.
How do u get the pinata colours to take? I tried them for the first time and thye kinda just disappeared into the resin. Hardly any colour, even with 3 or 4 drops. These are beautiful by the way and loving your content. I'm a beginner and you've taught me so much ❤️
OMG this is the best thing I have watched. I love resin art... Don't know why I am.attracted towards it... By the Way.. how did you did the edges silver later? I would love to see the video of that too. .. 😍
Wonderul video. Where did you get those triangle geode moulds that you used at the start of the video do you what is the name of these moulds and where I can buy them I live in Canada. Please and thank you. Have a wonderful day.
It's thicker so it doesn't act the same as the geode. You can get the colors to mix if you use a heat gun, aim it from the dides to the middle. Petra uses a white pigment that is only available in Europe but she also uses Castin craft white pigment and it gives the same effect.
Still early in the vid, but wanted to mention that pigment paste is not a paint. It is pigment powder mixed with resin which means it does expire. Some people make their own because it is less expensive.
Stephanie Hancock I believe it only lasts for 1 - 3 years depending upon whether or not solvents (fumes, ugh) have been added. The pigments will agglomerate, or mass together, and the resin then starts to cure.
Reason it isn’t working the same is you are filling up your moulds immediately rather than allowing the puddles to carry the colours out to the edges. Petra does an edge colour then small puddles that are repeated. You are just tipping all of your second colour in immediately filling the mood so the other colours can’t push out as much
Not everyone’s geode coasters actually look like geodes but yours do. And you can use either side this time. Lovely!
Looks like the moon. The second one. I love these💕💕

BG....I just bought some from Just Resin for doming earrings...nice stuff. Which resin from them would you recommend for these coasters?

I enjoy watching you create. I know I’ve said that before but it is true! Right now everyone needs a little enjoyment. Thank you for being genuine.
Beautiful! And so glad you're having so much fun. It's delightful to hear your excitement.
Thank you so much.Love your classes and the end products are gorgeous! Do appreciate you telling us of any happy accidents because they do turn into happy surprises. Take care and do enjoy ALL your videos. Blessings always.
I like the top sides best. You keep getting better with each pour.

Great Video Julie thank you...inspired to buy more resin, havnt done any for six months!! ❤
Petra has some beautiful mica powders. You can go crazy with colors.
Lovely Julie - great job. Petra is such a lovely lady and very informative. FYI you can get the mirror glass at Ikea :)
Yes, I live in Canada and I get mine at Ikea and Micheal's.
Hint: powders in cup before resin...stops puffing of powders... Wonderful coasters! Love that the round is like an eyeball.
You did it again nice colors

I really like how they are turning out. You are really getting good.
Really beautiful! One side note. Alcohol inks don’t need to be shaken, only the alcohol ink mixatives (metallics). That’s what I mainly do for my art. Thanks again for sharing with us all!!

These are lovely!! I love how the colors are married together and did we mention the cells too?! 🥰
You’re getting really good at these. They’re traffic. 🐾

It didn't give me any effects in these. Not sure why
Pouring Your Heart Out I use my heatgun in the resin to produce the lacing. I am making resin paintings, not coasters. I make coasters and Petrie dishes with my spill over resin in different moulds.
I really liked these.. I like the top sides better

Ahh glad to see you also have phalo blue and green from Solid Solutions. Great colours.
So amazing!!!

Beautiful!!! Wonder what would happen if you didn’t put the glass in the middle. Would they blend into each other or form and awesome center

Do you get a little raised edge? Around the edges?
I love all of them but the round one is my favorite.
Beautiful😍👍🏻
Hi Julie. I love this mold. Where did u get it?
OMG this is the best thing I have watched. I love resin art... Don't know why I am.attracted towards it... By the Way.. how did you did the edges silver later? I would love to see the video of that too. .. 😍
how did you make your own pigment paste?
Its Ikea crushed mirror glass that was meant for vases and plant ornaments. I use it al lot too.
Love them ,hi from Sydney where did you get the mirror glass I can’t get it tried Amazon eBay the round one looks great.
Isn't it gorgeous? I was wondering the same thing.
EBay :)
Ikea

I too am interested in where u got your mould from
When you say pigment paste do you mean resin liquid pigment ?
I like the black sides but are beautiful either way

Castin Craft can be bought off Amazon but I bet shabby chic could get it for you.
I've ordered some :)
The black made a spider web effect. I'm going to try for that.

What does it expiring mean? I have heard that before. How would we know if it had expired?

Oops....don’t dip the stick that you stirred the resin and pigment with back into the pigment...hope your white pigment is ok. Easy to do.
Exactly what I thought....
Lol .... I sat here and yelled “don’t.....do it” .... too late .... she did
Reason it isn’t working the same is you are filling up your moulds immediately rather than allowing the puddles to carry the colours out to the edges. Sweeeet!!!!!
Check out Sue Findley from Western Australia. Her lamp shapes are interesting.
Love that you are doing resin but I can’t but laugh at your prep. I m not being rude just thinking back on when I started.
