    I put a bottle jack under the differential and brought it down enough to get into the top bolts and put in the half shafts easily.

    if you lower the differential, the top bolts can be removed very easily with any socket, even deep ones.

    Interested in learning how you were able to modify the shift points. My auto trans 240D is shifting late - and 4th gear hardly at all. I haven't completely ruled out a vacuum leak yet, but I have been adjusting the vacuum control valve to see if I can make a difference. If all my adjusting efforts don't work, I plan to test the modulator for vacuum leaks and/or proper function. But as I understand replacing that modulator will be a challenge and I may have to find a donor vehicle. Thoughts? Recommendation?

    How do you tell the difference between the right and left axles? Are they the same? BTW, I used cv source and they were awesome.
