      Better days are ahead bro. Stay focused. Look for opportunities. Give 110%. I too was “wayward” at one point. But with the same formula and that determination. In two months I was up. Haven’t looked back since. Now I’m up. I’m talking UP UP.

    I just did something like this a month or so ago. I picked up an inexpensive garment/drapery steamer and used it to clean and 'plump up' the foam before I started reconstruction of it. It rejuvenates the foam, and as a bonus takes away a lot of that 'old car stink'! You can also use it to tighten up the leather (if you have it) afterwards as well.

    • @hxhdfjifzirstc894
      @hxhdfjifzirstc894 2 года назад +3

      A steamer has many uses... for pseudo 'dry-cleaning' of cloth upholstery or foam, try spraying on something like carpet cleaner, agitate it with a brush (if appropriate), then steam it and immediately suck the liquid out with a shop vac (use a slit attachment on the end of the hose). I've had very good luck with this method on everything from cloth upholstery, to baseball hats, to pizza delivery 'hot bags'. I use the Folex brand of spray carpet cleaner.

    • @Cechaflo
      @Cechaflo  Год назад +2

      Asi es, se retapizo como nuevo el asiento. Con respecto a la espuma, lo mejor es reemplazar la pieza por una nueva o en mejor estado. El cliente no pudo conseguir una nueva pieza y me solicitó/ordenó bajo su propio riesgo que lo reparara lo mejor que pudiese quedar. Y si se reparó para que durara unos años mas.

    I have to agree with the electric carving knife, but to each their own, and I'm glad you put something on the back of the foam
    Only thing I'd do different is at the very beginning, steam the foam to bring it back to its original shape...

    Great video! This is how I repair foam in boat seats. At first I tried to cut the repair foam in the shape of the bad spot. This always showed threw the cover. Then I started doing it like you do and using a sander to shape it better. What kind of contact glue do you use? I can only get it to work good when I spray it on. It never sticks when brushed on.Thanks for all your videos
