    If you get fired for (reasonably) asking for a raise, take it as a blessing.

    • @smilemore6130
      @smilemore6130 4 года назад +8

      Can you ‘just get fired’ in America? In the Netherlands you have a contract that says howmany months you work in a company. This can be 4x 6 months and after that you get a ‘solid contract’ that has no end.
      The boss can’t fire you without good reasoning (like stealing or you not doing your job right). As an employee you work for another 4 weeks or 1 month after you quit.
      You also get a systematic raise. Every year. Not a lot but it does at up when you work somewhere for a lot of years

    One thing that worked out for me was having 2 offers at the same time -- it was crazy how much it increased my leverage in negotiations. Also, beyond just asking for a raise is asking what you can do to possibly get a raise (generally no manager can guarantee a raise, but they usually are a lot more open to talking about outcomes they would need to see out of you to potentially qualify for a rise). Of course, the best way I've seen that builds wealth is investing in quality companies in the market -- and then the more you do it, the more you want to do it. My 2c.

    • @sandercohen3309
      @sandercohen3309 4 года назад +1

      If you think about the long term consequences of bad food choices, then you might not look at it as a depreciating asset anymore. Junk food costs almost nothing upfront, but they can cost a whole lot later down the road. Sadly enough, it's often more expensive to buy healthy food.

    If you look deeper into the unemployment numbers you’ll see that 90% of all job creation in the U.S. are part time and gig economy jobs. There are very few newly created full time jobs and careers that provide a stable living these days without people needing to work two or three jobs.

    Bad idea to go to work and ask for a dollar or $2 more an hour. Instead, know what you're worth, have a specific figure in mind that you should be paid, and be able to make a case for it. Leave for a higher paying job if you don't get your raise. If you can't find a higher paying job, you don't deserve the raise. If you just ask for "a dollar" more your boss will be able to tell that you pulled that number straight for your ass and he'll just say no if he's smart.

    I just had a college professor tell a class of teenagers that eating out is just as costly as eating at home🤣 I almost passed out in class. What are they eating at their house? You can eat good meals for under 80 bucks per 2 weeks if you plan ahead.

      Book Warm Tee you can eat $30-40 priced steak dinners for $5-10 at home and chicken will be $1-2 idk how people say eating at home is so expensive.

    hey ! I've been following you for just about a year now (totally randomly), and I've been wanting to ask you this, how much passive income do you currently generate on a monthly basis, and how long/how much did it take you to get to that amount ? how much time would it take in 2019 to get to that level ?

    Look, this is what I do....so anytime I want something, like a snowboard or a ski resort, I determine the amount it will cost me. I then go and sign for a payday loan without reading any of the information for the amount it would cost.....then go to a casino and gamble it in one shot. If I win, I buy the thing that I want as a present to myself...if I lose, it's ok because it's not like it was MY money, right? Make sure you avoid all phone calls and notices for the payday loans until it goes to collections, then just negotiate a 10% buyout with credit report removal.
    lol
    captain obvious sidenote: don't actually do this

    Love this video idea! Next up you could do the 7 things you SHOULD do after you get paid - I know you’ve probably covered the topics you would mention already but paired with this video it could help the people that get their check and think “time to spend this”
    About eating out - I limit it but come on man half priced apps after 9pm at Applebee’s?! Welcome back to the neighborhood 😂😂

    To avoid impulse purchases, especially for expensive items, be willing to save $100 a week for the number of weeks to save the full amount and then hold on to the money, in cash, for an additional week. Looking at the cash for a whole week will really force you to decide if you really should buy the item.

    Nate You need to explain how capitalism and marketing brainwash people into believing they can have happiness by spending money. Marketing is so tough to avoid and process with the right frame of mind. There should be hard rules to counterbalance these ads. Especially ads for cars every other ad is for a vehicle. Commercials are sad and desperate IMO but many people use them as the path to happiness.

    Wtf this video makes no sense. When you get paid don't accept the initial salary? Getting paid comes after salary is already settled not at the time of.
    Pay day loans? Surely people get those before they get paid and not when they get paid.
    This shit is clickbait.

    Another option for the education route is joining the military and going to school while youre in and then using the GI bill when you get out. Pick the right job (non combat type) and youll have enough time to go to school while you serve. They pay for it all and when you get out you can use the GI bill to further enhance your education, ive got a diploma from Wyotech for diesel technology(diesel mechanic) and motorsports chassis fabrication and now I'm using the rest of my GI bill to get a degree in science in business management.if i take the CLEP courses i can make up a couple of the credits that i would be short on for graduation.
    Hell go Coast Guard and you get the same benefits as the real military does.
