- I'm spoiled - I need to be able to control my telescope setup from inside my house, so I bought a MoonLite Focuser for my Explore Scientific AR152 telescope.

Passion is a powerful thing. This man's passion warms my heart.
Hey thanks!
Yes if the person had the passion and ambition they can achieve anything they desire
Just the video I needed! Got my AR152 a few years back and used very little, I need an electric focuser but prices are very high! 😢
I certainly love your passion ... plus the fact you are retired and got more time... awaiting for my retirement for obvious reason, enjoy the night and day sky far more and upload more video to involve more people in this wonderful hobby. I watch your video once in a while but never live as I am in UK.
That is a beast of a telescope! Also, congrats on the 200k!!
Thanks, yes it's a monster! I still can't believe I'm at 200K 😲😲
Oh man that’s awesome! Have fun, and hopefully you get some really clear skies soon!
Thanks Zach!
Oh cool! Got a new focuser! Can't wait to see your images bud!! Awesome Chuck!!👍🙌
Thanks Ray, can't wait!
Hey Chuck keep up the good work I'm over here in Chesterfield and I'm waiting for Clear Skies as well I'm excited to see the images from that beauty
Thanks John!
Dear sir,I just love your short videos and now started watching RUclips videos.Thank you .
I just love your channel. You're so wholesome. I just love your voice and you have such a pleasant personality!! Keep it up!!😁
Thank you, I appreciate that! Glad you love my voice, because most of the time, people say they hate my voice, lol.
@@ChucksAstrophotography Well that’s pretty rude! I’m sure most people love your voice, and love your content too! It’s always so entertaining and enjoyable!
@@zach3021 i agree.
Happy 200K Chuck The Gangster! :P
Congratulations on your new focuser! Astrophotographers and astronomers have been cursed to have bad whether every time they buy a new astrotoy.... Wishing you good luck and clear skies!
P.S., by the way that looooooong telescope looked so comical! You now have everybody's attention! Lol!
Thank you! I'm still amazed I hit 200K.
Watching closely. This will be a great experiment for the avx. Pushing the boundaries. That's what it's all about. Looking forward to first capture. Good luck.
Thanks Perry. I wouldn't try this for deepsky, but for solar - tracking doesn't need to be perfect since I will be babysitting it. I just needs NOT to crumble, lol.
Very excited to see the results chuck 👍
That scope is insane Chuck. Congrats on 200k subs, really great job
Thanks, Astrobloke, it's been a crazy year on RUclips!
That MoonLite focuser looks like a beast! Congrats on the new gear and on breaking 200k subs my friend!
Thanks Joe, I still can't believe I hit 200K.
The AVX is a most capable mount at weights much heavier than Celestron rates it at. I've seen amazing results from the AVX with payloads in excess of 50 lbs. Guiding at long focal length is its weakness. I run a full dso rig on my avx with that exact scope including all the accessories you can imagine. Remember, Celestron pairs all their sct scopes up to C11 with the AVX. Your rig is no sweat for it.
Excess of 50?!? Wow. That's good to know, thanks!
That thing is a beast. Super cool for sharing with us i sincerely appreciate it. Very awesome to see we are lucky to have you post for us!
Can't go wrong with a MoonLite focuser, Chuck.
Yeah, MoonLite really makes a quality focuser.
Can’t wait to see the images Chuck! Hopefully the weather clears up soon, also are you gonna try to capture the lunar eclipse?
I am really hoping I can capture that eclipse!
A monster is right! I can relate to the waiting parts, I finally got the two pieces I was waiting on (filterwheel and filters) and now I’m in the middle of a snowstorm! A few more days and I’ll head to the cottage, put it all together, and once the clear skies arrive it will be my first, first light! Looking forward to the journey beginning.
Awesome, good luck when you begin.
CONGRATS BUDDY. SO HAPPY TO SEE YOU AT 200K ❤️ MAY YOU REACH 1M VERY SOON😀👍
Thanks, I still can't believe I hit 200K this year.
Congratulations on the new Moonlite focuser!!! And I see Scott Losmandy is waving his hand at you... lol.
Hope clear Skys soon :)
Thanks! Scott Losmandy?
@@ChucksAstrophotography maybe a new mount soon…
I cant wait for the images!🤩🤩🤩
Me too! Thanks!
My goodness Chuck!!?? I'm sorry to go off topic but look at the Subs!!?? 202K+ Subs my friend!!?? Incredible!! Well deserved Chuck!! ( back to the topic in question, that "tape" you removed when fitting new focuser, I'm 99% sure it's there for an air and water tight/condensation tight seal!? So i would strongly advise you buy some replacement "tape" and refit the new focuser, because you don't need me to tell you how important it is to protect internals of such a precision optical instrument from moisture Chuck!? ) Thanks as always my friend! Wes, Liverpool UK.
Right, 202K is nuts, I would never have expected this at the start of the year. Thanks for the tip Wes. I did put parts of the tape back to help with the threading. But I'm not too concerned about condensation since this is going to be a daytime scope used for solar. But I may still seal it up once I confirm the new electronic focuser works.
@@ChucksAstrophotography Oh ok i understand Chuck. It's a beautiful 'scope! They're always sooo much bigger in person than pictures online!? lol. I just spent £2'500 on a brand new HEQ5 mount and a SW 200PDS, 1 x ZWO ASI 120MC and 120MM Mono for guiding, and various adaptors etc. ( I know the ASI 120MC is not really for DSO, but it's my very first foray into imaging with a proper dedicated astro camera, and i do plan to upgrade to a much better ZWO ASI183MC Pro Cooled Colour 4/3" CMOS camera in a couple of months, and eventually i'll get a good Mono Camera with decent narrowband filters etc ). I've been saving up for over a year to buy all this gear! I cannot wait to start doing basic DSO imaging and Planetary imaging with it all! I'm going to be starting my own YT channel to post vids of my imaging sessions/images/products purchased etc so i'll let you know when it's up and running and hopefully you might take a look at my channel and see what you think please Chuck ? Thanks my friend! ( So sorry for such long msg Chuck! ) Wes.
@@wesleydonnelly2141 That's awesome, Wes. Is there a place online where you will be posting your pics? If you are on Astrobin already, sorry - I can never keep track of where everyone is, lol.
@@ChucksAstrophotography I will be posting my images on here, and on Facebook and Instagram and Astrobin. I will msg you links to them when i create my first images thanks Chuck! Wes.
Hey Chuck - Seems a little strange with the screws issue, I think l can see your AVX mount in the corner sort of nervously shuddering. Lol.😬
I'm sure it's very nervous, LOL!
Love your videos
Nice to see that beast on an AVX mount. Chuck, you gotta be pushing the limits on the AVX's payload with that setup?
Epic Chuck!
Thanks!
Wow last time I saw this channel it was at 76K subscribes now 200k!?!?
Growing like a weed lately.
@@ChucksAstrophotography Yeah. Good luck on the way to 1 million!
I see a new mount in your future Chuck
Don't tempt me!
Beautiful telescope! 😍
Hey Chuck, I'm starting to spoil myself too. I just bought and installed ZWO EAFs on each of my 3 telescopes along with an 8x1.25" EFW. It does make AP so much easier and enjoyable. Upgrades are SWEET!
Awesome. I looked at ZWO's page for their EAF and I didn't see Explore Scientific in the list of companies that are compatible with their EAF. I was surprised.
@@ChucksAstrophotography Two of my telescopes are Explore Scientific and I had to purchase 2 longer screws for each install for it to work. M4x.70 at 25mm length and it bolted right on to my ED127 & ED102.
@@starman6092 Good to know
Would you be able to focus on a building on the moon the size of a house with that ? If not. How big would a building have to be before you could make it out as a building or structure ?
Can't wait to see the new rig in action, it's huge!! 😳👍
Thanks Joe!
'its huge'
-thats what she said-
Brother Chuck is there anyway that I could get a copy of your beautiful picture of the California nebula? Thank you
I wish I had the time and money to take up amateur astronomy & astrophotography. But also living in Northeast NJ isn't the best place for it anyway. Cheers Chuck
Awesome brother
Thank you! Cheers!
Are you going to add an Energy Rejection Filter and if so how big will it be? Thanks
NICE focuser!
Thanks! I like MoonLite.
MoonLite Focuser is really good.
Oh yes
Can you please recommend your best video for Moon buildings... I found a fully clothed rotting human (oid?) Skeleton in an official NASA MARS Photo... It's clear as a bell to.. his arm has broken off at the elbow and you can see it on the rocks at his feet...bit seriously looks like someone knew they had no time left and simply sat down and relaxed...
Moon buildings? I've never seen those things.
All of the technical talk has me lost in outer space
But that's ok since that's the ultimate goal anyway!
Thanks for watching!
Heyyy Chuck,,just wondering how the moonlights holding out ? Would you recommend it,,I have the same scope . Cheers 🍻
Get some PTFE tape. That should help with the threads.
Cool thanks, I'm going to look that up.
That's a monster focuser. It's great being able to focus remotely.
Right, especially with the sun because I have a hard time seeing a computer screen if I have to do it outdoors.
Hey Chuck. Do you have any issues running these large refractors on a tripod versus a tri-pier. Any issues with the imaging train hitting the legs or do you avoid targets overhead?
I know your pain. I have a full set of televues that I haven’t been able to try out because of terrible Detroit weather. I heard snow in the forecast for the coming week.
Yes I see the snow in the forecast, but it still seems too warm for it to stick around.
The Sun is about to get a lot more interesting
It's definitely been a lot more active than in recent years.
I really feel his excitement to test it
Thank you Chuck's
Dope. This is a literall beast.
Hey Utkarsh!
@@ChucksAstrophotography yep
AVX Mount "Oye, WTH Chuck, this thing is heavy!"
LOL
hey you got to shoot that lunar eclipce next thursday and friday, that what im doing but it might not be clear that day
I know, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for clear skies.
Had similar "screw-thread" issues with my MOONLITE (added to my Meade 152)...
Yeah, but the MoonLite wasn't the issue - the scope should have been threaded.
That telescope looks similar to when someone catches a fish that looks about 3 times bigger than it should be… (scale looks off!!!!)
I can’t wait to see the detail on the sun and I’m not the one imaging!!! excited and it’s not even my scope
LOL, thanks Kevin, I can't wait to finally get this going. Maybe I will live stream the first imaging session if the weather permits.
Woooohooooo...thats huge👍💪🏼👍
Yes indeed!
This guy says he lives in Detroit, but I can tell you I have never seen him. I drive around Detroit all the time.
A big telescope deserves a great Focuser.
Let me tell you. You are responsible for the clouds and wet snow here in Ontario. Have fun.
I take full responsibility for the bad weather you are having in Ontario, lol.
Saw your beautiful Nebula vid and had to subscribe... Do you have many videos showing the Pyramids and buildings and mines on the moon ? I get some amazing evidence using absolute garbage so I can't wait to see what you can see !
Thanks for subscribing, but I've never seen those things on the moon.
Nice
Hello third comment!
Thanks

Yeah
Hey Chuck, I'm also looking to upgrade the focused on my AR152. What model is that moonlite?
I found it.
I always email Ron at Moonlite (moonlite@focuser.com), he will tell you exactly what you need.
I hope it's not to far away for you, and us. Cheers.
Hello Chuck,
I have not sent you a message in a while because I basically get shut down from astrophotography in the rainy, hot Florida summer. I was wondering if you have any problems with your 2" OIII filter for your RASA 8? Mine is producing a circular artifact with bright stars. It is the $287.00 Baader f/2 high speed filter- 6nm. Thanks for any feedback and thanks for making such great videos.
Yes, both my OIII and SII are producing Halos on bright stars.
How do u make a living out of this? You are amazing and inspire me!
I don’t, but I see others doing it by selling prints or charging people monthly fees.
I like this dude 👍
Hey thanks!
Why not use the EQ-6R Chuck? It has a bigger payload by 14lbs
Holy shit that thing is huge. 🤯
Yes indeed!
Yay
Congratulations on being first!
@@tsiffpyc7882 thx
Oh yeah!
That's going to be sweet
Yeah, I can't wait.
OMG, how much was that beast Chuck?
The scope was almost $1K, and the focuser was a little over $500. The focuser would have costed more, but I already had a controller that it needs - that would have cost another $250 I think.
I was just watching you an hour ago
lol, welcome back
Woah
Nice, you are second
Yes indeed!
@@ChucksAstrophotography you are really cool I just wanna clarify
👌👍👍good
Wow your voice sounds a lot different

Nice man you seen any weird things yet
Love from India🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Some Bloopers.?
Not lately, I haven't been screwing up.
Are you in Michigan?
Yes, just outside of Detroit.
Chuck's Astrophotography wow man I live in Michigan around Jackson I don’t know where you stand on uncommon knowledge but I know some people that would love to talk to you and work with you just on communication with the higher realms i know a few people
your work is phenomenal and id love to try get in contact and do some test to maybe see if some stars will blink back like with you being able to capture these places that are in the higher realms , we could communicate by seeing what those realms really look likeb
Hey, I don't see a video with this telescope in action! What gives?
its all about the PCD
