    a small trick you can try to lessen or eliminate these incidents would be to buy a programmable plug/outlet from your local hardware store or Walmart. You can program it to shutoff for a minute or two early in the morning just give the unit a fresh reboot everyday. Plug the power supply into the outlet and set it for like an hour before you wake or start working for the day. These reboots serve to "clear the cache" so to speak and also allows the unit to install any updates it may have recently received.

      This is a trick used by custom integrators using managed outlets. Modems/routers of any brand are notoriously flaky.

    To improve reliability and speeds/up time, you can use an external router and turn off the WiFi on the Verizon router itself.

    I experience occasional disconnects when devices are idle, such as computers asleep overnight. I quit and start Wi-Fi and am immediately reconnected. Since these are cellular devices, I have taken the step of going into the Verizon app once a week, approximately at the same time, and restarting the router from the app. This is similar to restarting a cell phone to clear the cache and any glitches accumulated. Using the app eliminates the need to physically unplug/plug the power supply. My typical speeds are generally around 320 Mbps down and 15 - 20 Mbps up. The speed, reliability, and data allowance far exceed the T&T DSL service at 5 Mbps download and 150 GB monthly allowance I had before. I don’t do video calls, so occasional interruptions are minor inconveniences. I too picked up VHI in December 2022.

    On 10/23 I started using the gateway with the basic plan here at Merritt Island, Fl. The highest speed I was able to get was 39Mb/s down and 10Mb/s up. • @chaosgyro
      @chaosgyro 7 месяцев назад +1

      Except they pretty much do. I don't like the telecom industry either, but more regulation isn't going to suddenly make things better. The regional monopolies that the government created are a major part of the problem we have already.

      @@disablemycable I just moved to an apt complex that only has a local broadband company with terrible service ratings and poor reliability. I decided to try out the Verizon first because I've been using a Verizon Hotspot to keep me afloat while I wait. At least they don't lie to you and tell you straight up what the cap is and you get full access to your speed the whole way. Alot of these 5g home internet companies are very vague and don't tell you what they determine to be "heavy use" to enable throttling, its very vague on purpose and i highly suspect that when you hit X limit they determined, you get deprioritized (throttled) even more then you already are by being a home user vs a mobile user.

    If you have this internet in San Antonio just know this service is garbage I experience a so called outage everyday and I call and they come up with the same excuse so ima pay off my phone, break the contract and go with spectrum because they don’t even try to help

    I don't use all the shopping networks, not much on sports and don't use all the church or music. I like msnbc local news and me tv. Why do I need $180. bill. Verizon claims I can get internet, wifi but I need to set up a landlines. Blah blah and more. I tried the in window radar. Lol no good. I just want internet then I can pick what I want not xfinity. Or maybe I'm just old and should go back to am radio. 10 transistor. Ok I vented, ty.

      I hear you. If you want to use a streaming service for MSNBC, Sling Blue is probably your best bet at $40/month. You can enter all of the channels you want into this tool and it will tell you all of the services that carry them: www.disablemycable.com/streaming-service-finder/ - Brian

      My advice is to keep Spectrum for up to one month at the same time you're trying Verizon, especially if your home internet is critical to you. Verizon works great for most people but there are some for which it just doesn't work. - Brian

      @@disablemycableThat's what I'll be doing. I currently have Spectrum, but they keep throttling my speeds. I pay for 1Gbs, but every three days my speed drops to below 100mbs to around 93mbs which hurts my connection terribly. Also, most recently, my internet started to go down every night after 10pm. That's unacceptable. So I'm ordering the 2000mbs from Verizon, and even though I'll be paying more at least they promised constant speeds and also 2000mbs for upload speed. I will update this in a month.
