Post Covid, i gave Burdock root to my mom, who had heart problems - she has recovered . Burdock root in a dry form is great - it's like an activated charcoal, but for your arteries. This is not medical advice. I just wanted to share what helped my family. Another mention is not wearing shoes at home - parasites are very much responsible for health issues, so if pets are present, it is beneficial to do a parasite detox/cleanse prior to anything else. Detox and boost work hand in hand. And, if you have stress factors, any negativity besides what you eat - it does affect health too, all correlated. The best diet is the one you adjust according to how your body feels and what it craves!!! Its about treating the root of a problem, not its symptoms but symptoms are very important not to ignore but to address/listen to ! Best Regards

I agree with you Dr. Vega. We are each different biologically. I’m glad we have many ways to eat. Supplementation is usually necessary from my experience in each diet to have ultimate health. I am doing vegetables, and meat protein mostly and fruit once in a while. I feel so much better. I do organic fruit a few times a week. I will bring back some grains to see if I feel good. Definitely organic vegetables, wild caught, grass fed meats. Dairy and grains can be so addicting for me. So I limit my dairy. I’m losing weight and feeling so much better.

I said something similar 3 years ago. and again, recently. The human body is designed to thrive on good, healthy food, which is why every limiting diet can show amazing Before and After pictures with people who claim, passionatly, that a specific diet saved their lives. Good healthy food does not include highly processed grains and constant influxes of sugar in any form. (Tho' occasional sugar can be tolerated if the base line of health and solid blood sugar is strong.) Every body chemistry is unique, which is why many people of similar body chemistry and ancestry histories will thrive on each diet, but not on every diet! I believe that the strict mono-diets or "this is the only way" diets will be a thing of the past in the future, when each strict diet proves healthy for some people, and not for others. Eat what you love, provided that it is based in Nature and not in processing! (And smallish to medium amounts at each meal) Exercise daily. Love your food! Love the Earth that it comes from. Love yourself and each other! Love you! Elisha

Im on week 3 of strict carnivore. My doctor called me about blood work taken right before I started this diet and told me I was higher risk of cardiovascular event. That was terrifying. Triglycerides were at 187, testosterone at 211, and HDL low at 39. LDL high in 200s. My blood pressure was at 140/103.
3 weeks on this diet and today my blood pressure is 115/78! I feel more clear headed. Ive been working out at my own pace doing squats, running sprints, and some upper body stuff too. My heart rate climbs to nearly my max very quickly but i take a short break and get back to it.
Im skinny fat -normal on the outside besides some weight in my belly but im fat on the inside. Im 5'11 and was 187. Now im at 174 after these 3 weeks. I am also skipping breakfast doing 18:6 fast. I think ill switch and skip dinner instead. I love these talks and appreciate all that you share. I hope im on the path tonrecovery. HI Daniel, I increased my HDL from 46 mg/dL to 79 mg/dL in 6 months through carnivore. I definitely recommend you strictly continue intermittent fasting (I did a 5 or 6 hour eating window every day and then 18 or 19 hours water only fasting with no snacking until my next meal the following day). I was eating about 4-6 eggs every morning with about 6 strips of bacon (or 2 sausage patties). The intermittent fasting with carnivore will help raise your HDL quite a lot. If you stay strict on carnivore, I could see your triglycerides getting below 100 mg/dL the next time you get bloodwork done as well. You're on the right path now and keep up the great work with your diet 👍.

I always have at least 1 half gallon jar (fits 2 dozen eggs) of them in the back of my fridge as an instant backup protein. They last way longer than it takes me to consume them (they are delicious) and I can vary the flavors based on the spices I use. I usually grab a few dozen when they go on sale, so it is a reasonable protein.

As we get older we need to keep from losing muscle mass as well as work at keeping it strong.
Protein, amino acids are very important. And it takes work to make sure we bring in enough for many of us as we get older.
What I read in one source yesterday suggested at right at 197-200#, and male, (92 kg.,
I think) I should take in about 136-154 grams of protein per day.
That’s a big task beyond what I am doing.

    1. Baseline conditions
    2. Do we really know how many and how much of the different micronutrients we need especially on the ketovore. As you say ‘test don’t guess’. And listen to your body.
    3. Potatoes only may cause weight loss but there will be massive muscle loss amongst other nutrients deficiency

Regarding what foods, an important factor on effect is if you are at caloric equilibrium or deficit. Anyone who eats too much, significantly beyond equilibrium, carbs, protein or fats it is simply bad. Fructose (1/2 of sugar) is an important factor because of its effects on satiation and cravings. - No sugary drinks and minimal, if not none, fruit juices.

The government has been subsidizing cheap and plentiful food for decades... and all the processing of our food has at its kernel ( no pun intended) petroleum.....Corn has become king of the processed grains and is in virtually every processed food. It's almost impossible for meg food companies to return to less processed grains, because the population will go hungry. and there's nothing more to get a population up in arms than being hungry..I strongly recommend reading this book..

Dr. Rhonda Patrick advises that the vegan diet is missing enough omega-3’s to maintain optimum health. She also has indicated that for vegans who supplement with flax oil for the ALA (an omega-3), the ALA cannot get converted in sufficient quantity in the body to EPA and DHA, which are omega-3’s that are vital for optimal health. For vegans, algae oil can be a non-animal based source of omega-3’s (EPA and DHA) that are necessary for optimum health. In order to get enough of the omega-3’s needed, a vegan would need to take quite a bit of algae oil. The only source of EPA and DHA is animal products (especially fish oil and the like) and algae oil. They cannot be obtained from plant sources.

Genetics, past diet mistakes, all make a difference. People want to change "lifestyle" diet, exercise, for 2 weeks and give up if it isn't resolved quickly. If in your 40's on up trying to suddenly change health it's going to take months to begin to see difference. You can't stop soft drinks three days and bread 3 days for a week. It isn't running 5 miles for some its walking 10 minutes consistently 4 times a day until they can add min at a time to become functional. I think it's hard for those of you that have had healthier lifestyle to speak to those whose family for generations had bad habits.

Losing weight with high insulin is impossible therefore trying to diet with potatos can’t work unless you are exercising and endlessly and always hungry and not prediabetic (you will be on potatos eventually).
Your micronutrient requirements on carnivore is much less. That’s how people survived during the ice age. We are adapted to carnivore from the ice age. See Inuits. They don’t have deficiencies. Fine, eat sardines once a week if you’re worried about it.

Once again genetics specifically Apo E plays a big role. Confusion in the research? Research is not looking at the genetic makeup of its subjects. Apo E 2/2 or 2/3 can be carnivore with gusto but carnivore is absolutely the wrong diet for a 3/4 or 4/4.
