There’s also 15 hidden demons throughout the movie ala “haunting of hill house” style. So repeated watches are not only fun but rewarding
Yeah, I saw some while working on this, but did not count... I'm thinking of re-watching the movie this weekend.
The thing that made this movie good was Oz Perkins had you looking at things and trying to guess if you see something hidden. The wide angle shots of the woods from a distance. The subtle hiding of the 15 demons throughout the film, the creepy tone. The characters were great Nicolas Cage, Alicia Witt especially, Maika Monroe and even Blair Underwood who hasn't really been doing much acting for some time was great here. The fact this movie was made for $10 million is amazing because it's a lot better then movies made for 5 times that. It may have its flaws but overall, it's a damn good movie.

I saw the movie then indid the kill count vide then I asked my wife to watch the movie with me. She is afraid of snakes! I had so much fun when she jumped at that scene 😀

This movie gets creepier from more watches and watching the easter egg and things i missed

I can see just in this video the shadow of the devil appears in at least 3 scenes. When she closes the door towards the end of the kill count , in the mirror he has the doll in , behind the little girl.

On a scale of 1 to ten I would rate this movie a Eight I'll say this about the movie.It's good, but just a little weird on the creepy side.

I give it a seven. The direction, cinematography, set design and acting were all top notch. The writing was mid.

I did not find it scary I found it really really creepy. To have someone come to your house pretending they are a representative of the church, bring you a gift that then turns out to possess you, leaving you powerless... that's creepy and disturbing as F**k

@@NicholasIrvin I am 100% Nick Cage takes all his roles seriously! Perhaps for them it is fun to immerse themselves in those characters, I am not an actor so I would not know...

Very low on the gore scale though. Compare to terrorizer at 9 this would be 2.
@klardfarkus3891 yeah... gore scale is low... but it was not going for gore. It was more about atmosphere and suspense... and I liked it for going in this direction

It was a weird & creepy film. Except for the grocery store girl, the male FBI agent who got shot & the mongoloid FBI agent, all characters felt weird
