Because of this movie, whenever I see my wife enter into a room I now say "OH, there she is!" in the same inflections as Longlegs. I cannot stop myself, it's too hilarious.
No one can do what Nic Cage does. He takes such huge risks and chances with his characters. His range is incredible. He can do straight, dramatic, serious roles and win an Oscar. He can poke fun at himself and do comedy. He can play psychotic, crazy, unhinged people. He can do crowd-pleasing action movies. This man does not get enough credit.
When he drops another “oh” just as Maika’s sitting down it feels so perfect ha I love this character. This & Raising Arizona my favorite Nic Roles, what a legend, I thought he was a bozo 10-20 years back. Shows how much I know. Dude was just working & making money on some dumb movies but I’m sure there’s some other decent ones I’ve missed. Insane how much life really teaches as the years go by.
I'm going to be 100 percent honest when I say this. I genuinely enjoyed this movie, it is one of my favourite movies of this year by far. And to see some of the reviews of Longlegs being not so positive is quite sad. Because I was legit terrified throughout the entire movie, covering my mouth during almost every scene (Including this scene with Lee and Longlegs). My heart literally almost stopped when Longlegs started bashing his head on the desk, so grim and gnarly. There is so much to love here, the cinematography, Zilgi's outstanding music, the performances from Maika Monroe and especially Nicolas Cage, the use of Lighting, and sound editing. I enjoyed every detail on this movie and I'm really glad that I watched it. Thanks to Longlegs, Oz Perkins is now one of my favourite filmmakers of this generation.
I love how he sits up and braces himself with his feet and the chains as he prepares to cave his own face in. The movie was good, but Cage’s performance stands with the likes of Hannibal Lecter or Anton Chigurh as some of the best depictions of psychopathic killers in film.
I was really into this movie at first because it had a bit of a Silence of the lambs vibe but when it took on more of a supernatural vibe with the dolls they lost me.
It’s very rare that I see acting that is done so well that the actor disappears, and I don’t even see Nicolas Cage when I watch this. I mean, I have to tell myself that’s Nick Cage to recognize him otherwise when I’m watching the movie, Nicolas Cage is gone. and I don’t even mean the amount of makeup they gave him obviously I can recognize that as Nicolas Cage, but his acting is so spot on that he disappears
Not knocking your opinion. I enjoy a good discussion of films. What made you feel it was all over the place? I found it to be well-contained and showed how much influence Longlegs had on both the FBI in Maika and Blair, but also within the world itself. I didn't expect Maika's character's mom to be an accomplice, but enjoyed that twist.
I couldn't stop thinking about the fact this conversation between Mr.Cobble and the mother happened after his glamrock performance. Meaning, she really kept talking to him even after that shitshow lol
notice Longlegs and Harker are both wearing only white (shirts anyways). Longlegs is wearing white on white which means it was very intentional as if to signify he knows his work is now done and he is cleansed. Harker is wearing white because she is subconsciously tapped in and probably felt the desire to wear that particular shirt without knowing why. I also notice that most of the film she is wearing bulky dark turtlenecks. However when she is piecing together the murder mystery with all the symbols and ritual dates she is wearing that same white shirt. This shirt is looser and flowey compared to her other clothing and it reveals her chest which could mean this is when she is at her most vulnerable and connected to the demonic.
Was expecting him to be a more terrifying presence in the film bcoz of the way they were hiding his face and look in all the teasers and clips. It was just a good one time watch.
Damn he gives me Joker vibes!!! This scene is so chilling and disturbing yet incredibly superb acting!!! Nicolas Cage deserves another Oscar for his terrifying performance as LongLegs, this man went hard in his role such a fucking great actor!!! Longlegs: “You may now collect your gift from the church!”
Me: *aw hell naw*
Because of this movie, whenever I see my wife enter into a room I now say "OH, there she is!" in the same inflections as Longlegs. I cannot stop myself, it's too hilarious.
This movie makes me wanna read the bible.
So read it man. Its a weapon against this rotted world

Fun fact: this Is the first time Cage saw Monroe in her costume, so His initial reaction Is genuine.
No it is the first time , Monroe saw cage , in his costume you mean .. not the other way around

What a pleasant conversation, I hope this Longlegs character doesn't do anything absolutely insane after the video ends
Nicolas Cage is one of the best actors EVER. I mean that fully. Ever.
Give Nicolas Cage the Academy Award right now. Everyone else, thanks for playing but it's not your year.
It has strong vibes of Joker's interrogation scene 😊
Oh I'm obsessed by Nicholas Cage performance! He' s amazing!!!! So scary! Longlegs is a masterpiece
Nicolas Cage is literally a coinflip actor when it comes to quality of performance. Director's must have panic attacks before shooting starts.
Cage delivers the best acting I have seen in a movie in a long time.
Cage acted better in these five minutes than some actors have in an entire movie
this scene saved the entire movie - i'll forever praise this movie BECAUSE of this scene
*I LOVE HIS PERFORMANCE!!!!*
Nic cage is a legend. He's crazy engerised outbursts work for playing a pyscho
How is it in terms of jumpscares?
@@nein236 There's a few of them and they are all really good. But it's not that kinda film that relies on jumpscares only
I hate it but you absolutely have a right to your feelings and opinions. You love what you love.
This isn't one of the last scenes in movie but it is easily the climax.
Director: hey Nic, remember the 50 voicemails you left me 2am? Just be that in every scene.
Marilyn Manson has seen better days.
Omg I was looking for this comment
I love how he sits up and braces himself with his feet and the chains as he prepares to cave his own face in. The movie was good, but Cage’s performance stands with the likes of Hannibal Lecter or Anton Chigurh as some of the best depictions of psychopathic killers in film.
Nic should get a well-deserved Oscar.
I was really into this movie at first because it had a bit of a Silence of the lambs vibe but when it took on more of a supernatural vibe with the dolls they lost me.
Title error:
Harker reunites with Longlegs
It’s very rare that I see acting that is done so well that the actor disappears, and I don’t even see Nicolas Cage when I watch this. I mean, I have to tell myself that’s Nick Cage to recognize him otherwise when I’m watching the movie, Nicolas Cage is gone. and I don’t even mean the amount of makeup they gave him obviously I can recognize that as Nicolas Cage, but his acting is so spot on that he disappears
He disappeared into the prosthetics that he became physically unrecognisable, but yeah that voice and mannerisms too are unreal.
This is John Travolta's masterpiece!!
Outside of Cage, this movie is all over the place. It’s like the writers tried too hard to be scary. He’s the only solid part of the whole thing
That is the sad part. Everything about this movie is awful.
No it wasn't
Nic is acting so good I barely recognize him
For a man who chose to be named Cage, he's the most free actor working today.
So did he kill himself? I almost get the impression the devil is slamming Longlegs' head into the table.
yes mate, he was dead.
Same
I couldn't stop thinking about the fact this conversation between Mr.Cobble and the mother happened after his glamrock performance. Meaning, she really kept talking to him even after that shitshow lol
2:40 “ but, you don’t wear cologne do you?” What a strange question…
*You don't work alone, do you.
Work alone*
I can't unhear it now 😂
Lol work alone
notice Longlegs and Harker are both wearing only white (shirts anyways).
Nick Cage movies are like really bad car wrecks. You don't want to look but you can't help it.
I was waiting for him to scream "CHIIIIILD" at the end of every sentence, but he never did! HE NEVER DIIIID!!!
This movie had the potential to be so much more. Also longlegs should’ve had more screen time
Saw this film and loved it. The fact that this film made over 100million dollars says how brilliant this film was
Check out "Mandy" and "Colour out of Space"
My respect for Nicholas as an actor increased after watching this movie.
Nicholas Cage was severly underused in this film.
I didn't know it was him. I thought they'd have him be the detective. It's nice to see Cage in a different role.
Was expecting him to be a more terrifying presence in the film bcoz of the way they were hiding his face and look in all the teasers and clips. It was just a good one time watch.
Seems they were hiding his face because it's such a transformation (Nic Cage being unrecognisable) not because he looks grotesque and scary.
Phenomenal acting... pure genius. This is the best performance I've ever seen by Cage. Simply spectacular
Damn he gives me Joker vibes!!! This scene is so chilling and disturbing yet incredibly superb acting!!! Nicolas Cage deserves another Oscar for his terrifying performance as LongLegs, this man went hard in his role such a fucking great actor!!! Maika Monroe is indeed thee Scream Queen, she’s incredible actress as the brave FBI agent Lee Harker!!! Fun fact this interrogation scene, Maika was actually traumatized that’s why she’s breathing heavily & panicking yet she’s still performing her role!!! It looks so realistic to what you’re seeing here. This movie is insane but a great movie that I seen in the theaters 👏💯
Heck yes! Especially at the beginning, he reminded me of the poster for The Dark Knight where you can't see the Joker properly through the misted over window.
She was not traumatized.
