Keep in mind mashing b is still good and is faster than regular spin dashes. It’s not that much of a speed loss for a regular player.
Thanks man! this is one of my favorite video games of all time since kindergarten ^^ I figured why I didn't get to the 3rd minute in the Red Mountain while getting the last Sonic emblem for that level. This will greatly help!

Are you, or are you not, programming a specific thing to do this usuing a machine? Thus, you're getting the machine to do it for you through programming. It may not SOUND like what he said, but it IS what happened.
@@MrRikkles Its not what happened, the dash is named "TAS spindash" because it was originally found in a TAS run, actual people can recreate it and do in runs frequently

Especially On The Xbox Series S Where I Use The Analog Stick And Use My Two Fingers ☝️✌️And I Can Also Get Through The Games Psychics! And I Make The Game Tricking Itself! So Yeah But The Best Way Is To Use Tape On The X And B Buttons And Use The Analog Stick And A Button Then You'll Trick The Game And That's How To At Least Know What To Do In A TAS For SADX Same With SA2B!

I need to figure out how to not mess up the button presses though, I press X too fast and B to slow which makes me press both the same time 😅
yeah! its weird to get used to but it makes you so much faster
Use grip buttons for a and x so you don't have to move your fingers between a and x it's too slow and uncomfortable to do accurately

I still remember learning about spin dash jumping and how that changed 11 year old me’s world
Did you know that releasing the Light Speed Dash while on Hot Mountain's Animal Capsule(at the right spot) you fly straight to the lava below the cliff? And for a split second it shows Sonic dying and doing victory pose at the same time(more visible if you had 0 lives and shows the "Continue?" screen).

I found this tech on accident the first time i played SA2 and then i decided "Yeah. This is very optimal."
I don't think it works in SA2 as the dash functions completely different.
A midair shell jump in super mario world is 2 frame perfect inputs and people do midairs so this seems like it might be possible

It's not inaccurate but the way he presented it is obnoxious since the trick is still just mashing spindash but he tried to present it as a whole new thing, when really all it is is mashing with 2 buttons instead of 1.
@@myau9912it is basically but to people who don't play it might be easier to understand, since it's just press B to spindash, press again to half stop sonic and quickly press again to spindash, it makes you go faster instead if you just press it two times

TAS = Tool Assisted Speedrun
Basically to those who dont know, sometimes a speedrunner will use a tool to automatically time frame perfect imputs for proofs of concepts for proper speedrunners to attempt. A TAS spindash is an ideal thing to pull off of youre able to pull it off reliability, however, many speedruns use it in select locations to do skips rather than when running due to the lucrative nature and frame-perfect imput needed.
This game came out in 1958 no one's spin dashing at all

Sonic Adventures has the worse camera ever. I always get stuck everywhere while I'm running.

So long story short, just spammed the spin dash because there’s no change in speed
Problem is by doing this you can't scale walls or mountains
I would prefer to not develop early onset arthitis to save .2 seconds.

So do frame perfect spin dashing, it sounds like it would be fun to practice for time attacking but whenever i want to play the game regularly i will just play the usual way because thats more comfortable

Not as efficient no, but even attempting to do it this way is better than mashing with one button as most people do.
