Sonic is a game series literally about going through stages as fast as possible, I think it's more Sega wanting players to rely on what they made for speed running than relying on mainly glitches.

Speedrunners only take away from the experience, it's not gaming at all.

Attaching speedrun tech fixes in a free skin is a level of evil that would inspire eggman

Guys you're doing soin dashing all wrong. Just use TAS in all your playthroughs. It's just that simple.

Okay and how do I initiate spindash standing still? I'm having to press and then hold the jump button three times to activate spindash.. please help!

You know i think I agree with sega. We have sm64 we dont need more games were you have to get the highest GPM (Glitches Per Minute)

I kinda wonder if the team that fixes glitches was letting the glitches stay but then sega was like "hey please fix these" and then they did

Ah the sega seal of quality strikes again.

it's important to note that you have to knock the speed character off on the same frame that you land on the ground, after a flight specifically, that's how you get what is called a "bop boost state" you can tell you got it successfully if you start a flight and immediately teleport to where sonic is. and yes if you put a wall in between and start a flight is when you go zoom. this trick is only easy to do with team sonic, as knuckles is short enough that you only really need to jump above an egg pawn, then start a flight and drop down and you'll hurt sonic on the frame you land. with other teams though, the setup is VERY inconsistent but still possible.

Seems they just see "Oh, that's a glitch, fix it." It's a bit of a stretch imo to think they _hate_ speedruns, more like they don't really seem to pay much mind to them. From their perspectives, they're developers and they likely just want their game functioning as intended.

If they did a Speed Strats video for Frontiers, then no, they're not hate speedrunning. But if they patch these glitches, there is a reason. Like the early cyloop for example who can make you softlock and unable to continue further.
