First off, your a frigging genius.I like that you use wood in your machines.Have you thought of hand carving some designs and oil rubbing the wood to bring them to the next level of art? And on a different note, can the marbles use the gravity to also move some other machine to self charge the battery or its motor that runs the system? Or the metal ones going though some copper wound thing with magnets to create electricity? I'm stupid and don't know how to do that stuff. But I 'm guessing you could figure it out. Anyways, awesome work!

You can never get back as much energy as you put in. Some is always lost to friction and noise. Could you use a big machine to power a smaller one? Yes. But it could not power itself.

This is almost like music. You know, if you placed tiny gongs or something that creates a note when struck at strategic points throughout one of these, you could potentially end up with somethign even more awesome. You've got talent, that's for sure.

Respect from the United Kingdom and I love the skill and therapeutic nature of these little desktop versions of the marble machines!, I am just about to get started on my first attempt and I am trying to make a wall based version that has long rails and I hope to incorporate a pinball type feature to give the marbles a chance to start three different routes depending on how they bounce off the pins!, do you sell your own pieces or is it just a hobby and I would appreciate any help or advice from someone who is a clever mechanically minded person, thanks, tommy
