    Durian is almost always misrepresented in videos outside of Southeast Asia because of the use of crappy frozen stuff that is underripe and of unknown variety. Get some proper durian instead, maybe a "cat mountain king" or "D24" one.
    The Jackfruit looks underripe as well, it should have a slightly chewy texture and definitely not "like an apple".

    • @MrSegiSaurus
      @MrSegiSaurus 8 месяцев назад +11

      Black thorn and Musang king durian varieties are good too.
      You're right, Jack fruit should be chewy, floral scented and very sweet taste❤

      That's quite impossible thing to do, majority of imported fruit were unripe, and by using ship, gonna take months to reach the destination
      And imported it by airplane also impossible, cuz it's banned in airport 😏
      The most logical thing to do is visit the country that harvest the durian
      But of course the main course of this channel is not travel vlog, that's why i said it's impossible 😗

      We used to have a jackfruit tree a few meters outside our living room. Whenever the fruit gets ripe, it gets insanely fragrant and would make our living room smell so good. We would eat about half of the fruit as is, and cook the rest into a jackfruit jam.
      Jackfruit jam tastes so good when paired with either some toast or some rice cakes.

      You'll hate the fully ripened jackfruit. It becomes slimy pungent and a fermented taste.

    Jackfruit? "yaca" in México. It's really good, but definitely ood looking fruit XD
    As Don Donato says, "pitahaya" is the name we give in México to the dragon fruit. Icecream made with it is just crazy...
    Hey, hey, hey, that "carambolo" (starfruit) isn't ripe yet XD
    You need to let them to turn a little brownish on the edges. Fresh water made with it it's on a whole new level. My mom maks atole with it :3
    Guanaba (soursop) have a taste very good but hard to describe, really need to taste it yourself. If you ever come to Puebla city, try some fresh made sodas (refresco, as we say) with that flavor in a small bussiness named "Refresqueria Carmen" in Calle 2 Nte 611.
    And, as the passion fruit, the soda made with it was "sensao" by the Coca Cola Co. You can still find them in México city, at least in the Centro Histórico.
    Saludos desde Puebla.

    Mamey is SO good! We make mamey shakes with vanilla bean ice cream and milk and garnished with ground cinnamon. You can control how much mamey goes in and how "strong" the shake is. They tend to give you "watered-down" shakes in my area that have the thought of mamey but seems like not the actual fruit lol. Better just to make it at home! (Of course that's because mamey is readily available in-store in my area.) I'm only sad that they gave them a mamey that didn't look fully ripe. Maybe it's just preference, but I like them when it's very ripe and soft and bright-almost-neon orange. It's so much sweeter that way!

    Advice from Indonesia, if you are a durian and you don't like the lingering taste and smell on your hand ,use the husk.like a bowl, add water to it then clean your hand with the water, and use that husk as drinking bowl as well, it Will get rid of the smell and the lingering taste from your mouth plus if you developed a taste for it be ware,to much Will make you drunk, use the husk method,it work well and never eat durian on a empty Belly
    In my country, in some profince, they eat the soft part of the husk, and the seed, some time they boil it or throw it in a fire and they eat the inside part
    Same goes with the Jack frui seed, as for the flesh, when ITS ripe we eat it as is, but when ITS not ripe we like to make chips or cook it in a stew and it taste great

  • @dostagirl9551
    @dostagirl9551 Месяц назад

    I’ve had pretty much all these fruits, and my favorites are the durian and the jackfruit. The jackfruit is really easy to describe because it literally tastes like juicy fruit gum. Just be aware that the jackfruit produces a lot of latex. In fact, if you try to harvest the jackfruit before it’s ripe, it becomes an absolute sticky mess. Ripening reduces the latex content, but you’re still going to feel it on your skin. If you have a latex sensitivity, I would avoid this or just eat the canned version. Durian tastes like if an onion plant produced vanilla custard. It has a custard like taste and mouth feel, but there is that strong undercurrent of onion beneath it along with a little hint of rotten meat. Now you might think that sounds absolutely disgusting, but it’s similar to a really stinky cheese but super sweet and creamy.

    Durian is my favorite! Will put it in refrigerator. It tastes just like a vanilla ice cream 😍🍧
