The first 3 books are basically the prologue for the rest of the series. Book 4 is when the series really starts branching out to become the epic series it is.
@@jwalterharris Think of the first 3 books as RJ introducing the main characters and laying the ground work before the rest of the series kicks your ass, especially books 4, 5 & 6.
@@jwalterharris let's just say there are some amazing plotlines, fantastic character developments and epic moments. And I almost guarantee the conclusion of Book 6 will leave you staring into space for a little while after lol
Interesting observation about the greenery when the first book starts as you point out in a sort of cold drought. I haven’t heard this addressed in the many reactions I have seen. Maybe they are starting further back to establish the normal atmosphere from which our young people start. I’m in the fifth book and very much looking forward to the show.
If you think of what happens to the characters visually, the women go to a magical tower of the most powerful people in the world. There's a good argument to be made about them being a very big focal point. It also allows them to slowly build up the three boys as they should be, rather than immediately setting the expectations high. The audience is sort of in line with the mentality of the boys themselves, neither really expect a ton.
Your’re right, it was a crowd pleaser for me and I haven’t even read the books! I put a hold on the audiobook through my library but it’s an 8 week wait 😩
Very excited for this. Saw the trailer earlier, and while it doesn't look "spot on" as far as following the books, I agree that it looks entertaining and should be fun to watch regardless.
I read it all. If I were to list movies that do what wheel of time does I would name: Mission: Impossible, Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Jessica Jones, Elizabeth (1998), Inception, Akira. Yea imagine a show about the Spanish, French, and British all fighting a war with each other and an evil force. Magic, mystery, poli-ticking, betrayal, spies, love, friendship, and psychological twisted manipulation. It's fun. Coming of age. Bittersweet ending.
First off good on you for reading the books :) Its a long series and definitely not for every reader, you will know by the end of book 3 if its for you or not, and funny enough there are scenes from books 2 and 3 in the first season so that kind of works out :) Don't worry about not knowing where its headed, you will still feel that way on book 13. As a big fan of the books, I love this trailer, its cosmetically different, but it has the spirit.
@@jwalterharris I am pretty sure its just a scene or two :) Read and enjoy is the important thing. That way you can complain when the show does it "wrong" :)

Shadow Rising is one of the best fantasy books of all time.
That is one impressive prologue. I am enjoying it as it is so if it only gets better, that bodes very well for my goldfish-length attention span.

😂 I hope that's a good thing.

Also the bookshelf behind you looks great. Love the Sanderson and Jim Butcher!
Thanks! It is the beginning of what hopefully will become an impressive collection.

I had not thought of it that way. Good point!
We’re supposed to be getting a second trailer, so I wouldn’t be surprised if in true WoT fashion, that trailer focuses on the guys.
I look forward to it! Please like and subscribe to my channel to follow my WOT journey!
