How to fix a leaking overflow pipe

I have a leaking overflow pipe coming from the roof of my property.
Is this you? Have you wondered why water is flowing from a pipe from yuor property? This could be due to a failing ball cock/valve.
A ball cock is responsible for controlling the water level in your cold water storage tank. If it fails, water will overflow from the tank through a warning (overflow) pipe somewhere on your property.
This is common on conventional heating and hot water systems and also on old toilet cisterns.
It's due to a failed washer, over time they can wear thin, split or even harden making it difficult for them to create a tight seal.

This very issue, thought it was the toilet float but problem returned 3 days later, 1/2" FIbre washer and a new float🤝 appreciated greatly once again!
