- Did you know that CCI (Custom Coasters International) went bankrupt while building the New Mexican Rattler which left the coaster less than half complete? The park finished construction on their own and the coaster opened late in the 2002 season.
Cliff's Amusement Park is located in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

I love the sound wooden coasters make! Nothing like it.
What a beautiful little coaster!! Gorgeous scenery, too.
One of the most underrated woodies in the country. Miss this one.
Truly is wish it wasnt so rough
@@polandcanintoearth5901I found it almost glass smooth for woodie standards, only rough parts were in the tunnels and even those were alright
I found this because of it being the last coaster built by CCI, never heard of it before but I was just reading about the company and saw it named. Looks really really cool and underrated based on the POV!
That's a cool coaster right there! I'm a BIG FAN of steel coasters but this wooden one is definitely worth riding more than once!
Neat that one half of the lift walk railing is wood and the other half steel
your point?
@@jamesfracasse8178 That it looks cool? Does there need to be a point?
@@squares4u that's all you should have said before darling
@Arrow Dynamics Inc. finally getting some straightforward answers
@@jamesfracasse8178 May I recommend Google if you're impatient next time? ;)
The last roller coaster built by CCI until CCI went discontinued and they formed the gravity group.
That sudden stop at 1:39, crikey. It must be enough to give you whiplash.
Not really I rode it today and was fine
So this ride is unpredictable, One day i went on it twice the first time it was quite calm and fun. The second time still very fun but my neck was going bananas!
Rode this several times back in 2016!
Looks like so much fun! 😊😊😊
This video is letting me to go to Cliff’s this is my favorite play time❤❤❤❤
This is the better wooden Rattler
You get some amazing floater in the very last seat during that first drop. Especially when it's running fast. If you undo the stupid lawsuit belt and make sure you're not stapled in
You guys are awesome keep it up
I was actually at the rollercoaster a few weeks ago and long story short... it's the reason why i don't like woodies.
Very beautiful video.
this ride hurts so bad ! 😭
It does 😭
I was thinking... if RMC came in and converted this one, what would be the name?
New Mexico Iron Rattler?
New Mexico Giant?
Twisted New Mexico Rattler? 🤔🤔
snake 🐍
No one knows if it’ll end up being named a landmark or not, sir. But to answer your question; if RMC were to walk into Cliff’s Amusement Park and convert this roller coaster, I believe that it should just be called “Twisted Rattler.”
New New Mexico Rattler!
I'd think if RMC somehow came to Cliffs, a Raptor might be a better fit for the park than an RMC of Rattler. A small and compact single rail coaster that doesn't need massive capacity but delivers a good thrill.
This is the last coaster ever made by CCI. It would be a shame for it to be converted, as it is already much more modern in its design than most woodies that get altered.
Doesn't look like a lot of air time?
It does have a lot of air time actually
@@sphynxmafia49 yeah it does... watch a back row pov and dayumn
@@Christian-qv7hm the video doesn't give the ride justice at all
this ride made my fear of roller coasters that dont flip gone
Looks fun
I only rode it in 2005, when it was pretty new, and it's wasn't great. It was kinda rough most of the way round. Hopefully it's got better with age.
Almost got whiplash from this ride lmao
POV you live in NM and it’s sick
Seems like it's a pretty long ride for its short height.
Did gci do some retracking on this bc some of the spots look like new track
It’s done in house.
@@hogie1259 oh ok
@@cortlandsmith Minor correction. CCI had a little less than half done but went bankrupt during construction. The rest of the coaster was built in house
Weeeeeeeee coaster fun!
my first ever roller coaster. Me and my dad decided to sit in the back…BAD choice. We were thrown around and it was bumpy. We tried front seat and I had better options. I still think it needs a retrack.
The coaster looks amazing, but I gotta say the final brake run looks really painful because you come to a complete stop in like 1 second
It is lol
I really like wood coasters
oh rmceeeeeeee
The hands down roughest ride ever
Edit: I think they put new some track on it
Great American scream machine six flags over Georgia
its still fun though except when it tries to disclocate ur back😔
Thunderhead at Dollywood is one of the roughest ever! This thing is butter 🧈 smooth compared to that monster
Yeah
When you go on this ride your guaranteed to hit shoulders with the person next to you
Retrack?
Yeah the park has been retracking some of it. The coaster became pretty rough after 20 years in the desert sun.
@@EriJ100 I rode it last summer, and it is insanely rough
This footage looks almost artificial. There's something about 5k that makes it look this way. I almost don't like it, it's too much. Good video though! New Mexico Rattler is one of 6 wood coasters I have left to have ridden every one in the United States. Just knocked Gold Striker (a new top-ten woodie for me) and Apocalypse (excellent ride, too) off that list, New Mexico Rattler comes in just a few months.
Jesse we need to ride
Not a bad coaster at all
Noo Mecksiko Portapotty Rattler
Volume down the screams at the intro please!!
Turn your volume down, no need to have your phone, tablet, laptop, etc. at full volume?
To think that Walter White Jr or Jesse Pinkman probably went on this ride.
Can you do another video with Anthony shwarts idk how to spell his last name
Schwarzkopf.
@@alaeriia01 Anthony Schwartz, the football player. Not the defunct manufacturer
@@SmileBullet both types of football are boring.
