    How this coaster manages to maintain so much speed for so long is truly amazing.

    • @mhtube01
      @mhtube01 3 года назад +49

      What helps it is the fact that on the way out to the "spaghetti bowl" turnaround, the terrain rises about 80 feet. You don't really notice it on the ride but on the trip back it just seems to keep getting faster. This is one of the few coasters that made me laugh and scream like a little kid because it's so relentless. Just an awesome ride in every way.

      It is smooth, they have an awesome maintenance team that really takes care of their wooden coasters. They seem to do track work to this coaster every off season. I rode it last year and thought it gave the perfect ride by having that signature wooden coaster feel without being rough. The speed is just ridiculous on it too, especially on the return trip!

I've ridden a lot of roller coasters in my day but this is still the golden standard, the one I compare them to. • @khjuggler
      @khjuggler 3 года назад +3

      There is plenty of potential energy when you realize that mid course brake run is atop a hill that is 90 or so feet higher than the station. It is just that there is a tunnel in front of you so you don’t realize it. Super cool “illusion” though.

    • @oneandonlysound3453
      @oneandonlysound3453 3 года назад +3

      Voyage is so much better maintained. El Toro may be more intense but the length/duration isn't there and it needs more retracking (and honestly, better trains-intamin pre-fab trains are pretty meh). I don't even see how people can put it in the same league truthfully. The ONLY way Voyage (or either) could be better is if they gave it the timberliner gravity group trains and maybe even put in an inversion.

    • @billsskiefc
      @billsskiefc 3 года назад +1

      OneAndOnlySound they tested timber liners and they don’t have as much airtime so they stuck with pro, also voyage is perfect the way it is

      El Toro is awesome, but I agree with the others on here that Voyage is better. It took my number 1 wooden coaster spot last year when I rode it. El Toro is more intense, but Voyage is a much longer ride and made me laugh hysterically on the return trip because it completely regains it's speed. El Toro looses so much more speed in comparison.

      @@mhtube01 It truly is mind blowing how quickly it gets back up to speed after the trim. Seems like it almost defies physics! I'm in my 60's, rode it a total of 5 times that day. The front seat, imho, is the best. Rode it twice up front, twice in the middle, and once in the back. It's tough on an older person as it can beat you up a bit, but I got beat up a lot more on Legend and even Raven.

      It depends on which row you sit in. On wooden coasters, the middle of each car is smoothest, or the front of the car if there are only 2 rows per car. You want to avoid being above the axles, or at least the back axles.
