Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am going to start my first remote job next Monday. I am so excited but so nervous at the same time. Your video helps me to get prepared for my new job and get some insights. Thank you again for sharing your wisdom!
I am about to be cut loose on a "trained person" shift. I feel totally overwhelmed the job has rather detailed steps and it was a LOT of info and now we have to answer the phone on top of remembering all this and I am terrified. I went thru training just fine but I feel so stupid and slow. I work from home BECAUSE I am anxious. Its either this or disability for mental health and it is a lot of pressure on me to make this work. I ask everyone before I do anything at all because I panic and blank. Everyone is very nice though, I cannot believe how kind they are. I want this so badly.
This is the second video of yours that I've watched (started with the one on exit interviews) - now subscribed! :) Great content, straight into the topic, lots of practical tips. Starting a new job in a week's time, been at my current one 5 years and ran a business before that, so I'm really out of practice with this stuff. Excellent advice here!! Thank you
Thank you so much for this amazing video. I literally just got my dream job, but covid means that I wont physically meet my team for possibly months, so how to insert myself in this different environment was a huge question mark... now I know what to do. :)
Thank you sooo much, @Jennifer Brick, for this crucial videos. Literally took a way my first day jitters. Please continue to shine & share your wisdom.
Where did you get your blouse? It’s so stinkin’ cute! Anyway I appreciate your videos so much! I’m starting a new job in a week and your videos on the exit interview and starting a new job are a godsend! Thank you thank you 🙏🏼
I just started a new job. The training is horrible. The training is very scattered. They explain something for a few min and then say “ u got it right” and just move on to something else. Any advice reagent horrible training? I want to do a great job. But how? When im not being training properly. This job is not remote at the moment.
If I'm working from home, which I am, I am not dressing up. I'm not fixing my hair or wearing makeup, it's not necessary. I have been at this job for a year and a half and it's worked out fine for me. No one else bothers with that either.
For your intro, the pastel filter that made it look like you dropped back was very distracting and I almost wanted to stop watching. In contrast, if you make the "Introduction" with a editing filter that changed to a bright and vibrant colors and your Introduction made the zoom feature so that you were 'closer' to the lens, then it changes the perspective so that your "Introduction" acts like you are 'leaning into the audience' you are posturing yourself as inviting / welcoming people to the video.
What tips do you have for others who are starting a new job virtually?
Ask lots of questions..and ask to have them walk you through processes
Will start my first remote job Monday- needed this thank you!

HUGE THUMBS UP. AWESOME VIDEO. THANKS.
Great, starting new job when WFH is so special
I really love that onboarding that you had with your manager of switching the point person around. Would have never thought of that.
It's so simple, but so genius.

This is the hands on vid I needed.
Excellent advice!
Do you have anything on what to do if you DO mess up? Like if you take the bait of a toxic coworker for example? xx
I don't, I'm going to add it to my list! Stay tuned!

Is there anyone you feel comfortable asking questions?
@@nolsova1140 no there wasnt anyone else to ask. I ended up just finding a different job.
I was lucky and had a patient co worker.
Experiencing the same thing at the moment. No focused training just vibes and scattered information🥴
Agree

This is a great video and I haven’t even finished it yet!
Thanks for this! So helpful :)
Good luck at your new job, Marielle!
I’m not good at identifying the company politics or how to participate or not. Do you have a video about this?
Something is wrong with the video 🙁it won't play

Thanks for sharing your ideas! I appreciate it when it comes to video editing cause I'm still learning 😃
