So, much of the online info about careers is fuzzy, feel good, "how to make a good impression" stuff that relies effectively on sales techniques. Nothing wrong with that. But this is not that. This content is practical. Filled with techniques and tips that will not just make a good impression, but will actually make you more productive and valuable in a real sense. Clear and straightforward delivery. Good stuff!
I’ve been keeping a career journal and google doc with my work projects. It’s been helping me update my experience/resume and retain new skills. I’m glad to see the notebook/ diary mentioned in this video :)
the "ben franklin" effect is something I've never heard of and it is a brilliant way to present this aspect of relationships. ofc it has to be asking for help they can deliver on or it has the opposite effect haha
This video is incredible. I have a much clearer idea about what I should be doing when starting my new job in about 1.5 weeks after watching this video.
I'm going to start my first professional job 😀 In the Fashion Industry and I am so excited! It is a part time job but I will be gaining experience and hopefully lool forward for a full time position. Helpful tips, thanks.
Thank so much, am starting a new dream job in few days and your video has really make me to prepare and reduce the bumps in my mind. I feel more prepare than what I expect.
I thought it was interesting that they mention the onboarding process at some companies being poorly handled. That just happened to me this week. The HR lady was very discourteous and rude to me because I had a misunderstanding with the paperwork. She even shouted at me at one point. When she left the room I scrapped the whole deal and walked out. The shame of it all is that I had 30 years of experience in my field that I was bringing to their company, and they had to treat me like a big schmuck. Their loss.
Thank you Mr. Chapman for sharing, preparing us and make it easier for those who see a steep journey the first 30 days employing. Excellence All the way! TY
You look and sound like a good guy. Well, that's besides the point . The content is very useful. Starting my new job tomorrow these will come in handy . Thank you for sharing
This is discussed in detail in the “first day at work” video, but basically comes down to: (1) ask your hiring manager what it is (2) if you didn’t ask, then try to remember what people were wearing when you had your interviews (3) if still in doubt rather overdress than underdress (to play it safe) without going over the top Hope that helps!
Basically... these tips are formulated for neurotypical people... not for people that are on the spectrum.. where being social tends to actually do more harm then good sadly.
NO manager…let me repeat that…NO MANAGER🗣️🗣️🗣️ wants to set aside 30 minutes EACH DAY for 1:1s with a new hire!!!! YOU sir are either crazy or you don’t know how the corporate world works. Twice a month if you’re lucky NOT every day!!! NO WAY!!!
These are great tips, especially at the end of the video...thanks for sharing your knowledge!
Who are here starting new job soon congratulations 🎉 you made it !

How to find out what the company dress code is

You speak too fast, I can't follow you. This is impacting the content unfortunately.
Thank you so much for the feedback Emna; I will bear this in mind for future videos!
Trying slowing the video speed to .75
As @@wordeeone4996 said, you can slow down the video. Worked for me when I was developing my listening skills.
Completely disagree! It’s great paced.
