Thank you for making this video. Katherine, I love your teaching because you use the words and phrases that you use every day. This is genuine and down to earth!
I am very happy to have found your video! It was fun, it was exactly what I was looking for, it was very organized, and it helped me to have a very organized wonderful idea of what to say on my first day and right now, it is helping to reduce the anxiety that I was feeling minutes ago before watching this video. Thank you very much! I see this was posted a year ago already; but it is definitely still helping lots of people like me. Hope you are doing wonderful with everything in your life.
I appreciate your hardworking and the opportunity to see and listen to your videos every day, Really your British accent is incredible and I watch it every day your lessons. Thank you so much.
You are absolutely charming, apart from the didactic of your examples, your approach to usage, your precision in linguistic matters, your way of speaking, your non-verbal gestures, your emphasis with your hands or looks, all make it a very rich experience to watch and pay attention to your videos. From Chile, a hug, thank you.
Blimey! Am I here first ! Ah look what the cat dragged in! The one and only like no others, the lovely Katharine. Excited to be here 😂pleasure to see you again! I have to say; you're a sight for sore eyes! 😀 Happy New year to you! Greetings from Casablanca Morocco. Thanks for sharing, your time is well appreciated ! Bye for now. See you in 2023 😃
It s good to see that " Learn by heart " is still popular in the UK. I have always liked that expression , although some people prefer " memorize" . - And yes , the coffee machine is definitely a good place to meet or catch up with your (new) colleagues . I personally think that , a secretary , can't be missed either in an office , is essential , for the practical things to run smoothly, a Secretary can feel like a safe haven , a bridge over troubled water , in rough seas circumstances and ups and downs in a company . BTW " Care for a lunch , Katharine ? "
I watched several videos about this same topic but this one is so useful & informative with a superb lovely British accent that i wouldn’t hesitate to watch again ❤ Thank you Katharine
Hola hermosa me da tanta paz escucharte. Mi FUN FACT es: Al principio suelo ser muy callado pero despues de cierto tiempo ya nadie me soporta porque me encanta hablar y hablar y hablar.... besitos desde Monterrey. Mexico.
Really appreciate your genuine sharing of useful tips. I came from Hong Kong to settle in Bristol last August. I will start a new job in the coming September. When I wonder what I need to say in the first day at a new job, this video pops up in my mobile phone. You are my life-saver as you help me know the British way of introducing myself and small talk at the coffee machine, etc. Look forward to your next video! I am also an English Literature graduate in Hong Kong, mainly majoring in Victorian novels and modern drama. I am living in Keynsham now, quite close to Bath. I like going to Bath because everything there is Victorian in style, especially the Great Pulteney Street and the Jane Austen Centre. All of these remind me of the old days more than thirty years ago when I studied the English literature in the university. Your videos help me blend in the British culture and expressions! A thousand thanks and keep going!👍🙏🙏
Hi Catherine! 🌟 Your latest video is an absolute gem! Your warm and friendly approach makes tackling the first day at a new job seem like a breeze. It's so relatable to hear about your own awkward moments - we've all been there! Your tips on greetings, office tours, and self-introductions are incredibly practical and reassuring. I appreciate your attention to detail, like the importance of maintaining a positive attitude even when discussing a challenging commute. And your personal anecdotes, like how you made friends by the coffee machine, really bring your advice to life. Your video is like a reassuring pep talk, and I'm sure it'll help countless individuals as they embark on new career journeys. Thanks for spreading your positivity and knowledge - Looking forward to your next video 👏👍🎉👋
Thanks for great lessons, Katharine! I was surprised you are a big fan of rock music) I suppose UK is the cradle of modern music. The Beatles, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Queen, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden - all my favorite bands are from UK)
Hellow there. This is Amjad from Pakistan. I am in my 53rd n work for a government agency. I always enjoy playing your video n am subscriber of your channel too. I have already had few of your videos there you tell us to use different techniques which are very useful. Use of phrases n ideams n many other tips are very relevant to make my conversation interesting, impressive n easy to compose my delivery more easier. Love to listen you.
Hi Katherine! It was a great video and you transferred useful information for 1st job day. Thank you very much. We are waiting for new videos for new starting to work in English like us.👍🏻
Thank you, I start tomorrow. Fun fact: I was once a national champion in monofin swimming and they had to explain me only in the train for what. Because I wasn't first and didn't understand the rules of that discipline.
Your teaching way is fascinating and professional. It is not a bit scary. All these tips are useful and would be beneficial. My fun hobby is to make everyone 😂. And a serious hobby is to read books.
Thank you again is it nice to join in your english lessons it tell a lot of sentences to use l am injoy its very much also listening your sound of speak its rather so good study can be take times a long its also many among to learn just give like play games .
If my day wasn't succesful I would end my day positivly just because watched your self introduction. Thank You again and again. I am interested hearing Your music soon too
I really appreciate for making this video, Katherine. 😊 It is useful to develop my understanding about English and its culture. Every Friday, I am waiting for uploading a new clip. Actually, I’m listening from South Korea. In this video, you emphasized that it is better to keep being positive for greeting and ending etc. (maybe in western culture, it is more natural to express somthing positively.) And I also understood that it could be a kind of formal manner in English culture. For now, I am wondering how we express something negative more naturally in English culture. This is about way of expressions, timing. 😊
Little did you know that I was watching the 1st king's Charles Christmas speech. However, no sooner had received your notification than I started watching you instead since I really took a shine to your second to none channel, I 'll get back to the king later on though!
Hi. I have found your channel very recently. And I am a big fan of you. And now when you said you played the piano I started to adore you! I am a professional musician. Greetings from Warsaw/Poland ❤️❤️❤️
It is a pleasure for me to hear that you got a degree for english literature. In my teenage years , i had to study english language and english lliterature as 2 seperate subjects. To be honest , english literature was tough for me compared to english language which was relatively easy , less boring. Have a prosperous day. May your shadow never grow less
Miss Katharine, thank you very much for helpful information, it's really useful, I have had some interviews in english and any advice is welcome 😀, btw happy new year to you sweet teacher 😊

Hi Katharine, As usual good vidéo very helpful. I wont tell you my fun fact but I would be very Keen hearing you playing piano, Im sure you are fabulous 😉
Hey Cat. I am an ardent follower of all your lessons. I'm from India and of Bengali origin. I guess I'm your oldest student (71). English as a language is of course so widely spoken and understood in India. But the British accent is most fascinating for me. All your lessons are so bright, so animated, and I regularly follow your classess drilling my tongue syncing with yours. And the experience is greatly rewarding. Now I am almost able to follow British films, shows and podcasts. At the same time I am often confused with the presence of so many local dialects even in a small island country. I think there should be some lessons illustrating the regional variances as against the so called 'accepted pronunciation'. Again I express my gratitude and respect to you.
Everything you said about the coffee machine is true no surprise I love coffee lol, but still struggle to hold a conversation. Probably this would be a good idea for your next video. As greetings, you also can say Hiyaa or just you alright? which is most common in London.
Its a very useful and lovely video . Happy New Year 🎉Wishing you and your family happy and good health. I am really enjoying your Instagram too .Could you please introduce about British foods and vegetable names next time? I really confused at supermarket when l lived in Uk. Thank you always!
Playing by ear is an incredible talent!!!
