No disrespect to Rita who seems lovely, but like any good child would, she talks about how brilliant her father was and how she was amazed how he could handle what he could handle, but in the end.....wasn't he just a total sociopath?
John, you look so familiar. I'm 48 and grew up in Bensonhurst (PS 163, Lafayette HS) We probably drove by each other a hundred times on a Friday night on 86th Street in our Caddies! Great interview. Rita is an old soul with such a deep sense of the world. I love how grounded and personable she is. She has such a natural gift for storytelling. I was immersed in the interview from the beginning. A class act for sure!
He didn't tell her about it, but Chin DEF sold drugs. He did it through his emissaries. I know his whole operation. He and Casso were close and invested in drug smuggling.
I appreciate Rita's honesty. She is honest and doesn't hold back about who her father was, and that is a gangster and murderer. Unlike other kids of mobsters who try to act like their fathers were these noble characters that did no wrong.
