I stumbled across this two years ago during the height of the pandemic and it's been a favorite since. I can't say I only play it around the holiday season, because I listen to this all year round lol. This is by far the best rendition of this classic that I've heard. Such emotion and heart poured into this. I get chills every time at the big moment before the end.

It's a shame Remigio couldn't keep his political mouth shut but the Tenors are just as good as they ever were. Pereira tried to sabotage the quartet but only made the trio stronger and more vibrant. They're still my favorites. Love you guys. Merry Christmas and, thank you.
Opals Boy - do some research.....check out "TRUTH - LIKE A LION IN THE ROOM" . Trio as you call them are not nice people, they sold their brother down the river. They owe Remigio his share of the business and royalties and 1year 8 months still not paid. They are arrogant and big headed. Please check out above "Truth Like a Lion in the Room"
perhaps Remigio picked the wrong forum to express his beliefs, the only reason its was so controvertial was because it was in the USA, BLM just milked it for everything it could...however I couldn't believe the backlash, and the way the 3 STOOGES handled it. I hope they bring him back, his voice was the strongest...I heard the recording of the meeting afterwards. Backstabbers! They're off my list!
You are so right Opal's Boy, and good for you for speaking up. I often wonder what would have happened if Remi had pulled that stunt in a football stadium instead of a baseball stadium. I'm sure Remi's band of misguided fans would have expected the other 3 to lay down their lives for him because for reasons I don't understand, he has them believing he walks on water.
Barb Riordan am i reading his right...his fans believe he walks on water...actually not...these 3 tinheads think they got awau with knifing remi...however its clear his vocal range is superior...these guys will be playing the Fizzel out concert circuit soon...deceitful practices...the concert in east vancouver...pidgeon park...these guys sound weak.

Everyone has their opinion, their own taste...but I disagree about Victor "carrying" the trio. I do agree they were stronger as a quartet. I personally find Fraser to have the warmest and more beautiful voice. Clifford has both a softer and sometimes piercing sound (listen to "Forever Young"), and for me Victor's voice - admittedly powerful and rich - is too often too "almost"-operatic, which I feel doesn't always meld well with the others'. And I too miss the sonorous beauty of Remi's glorious instrument mixing into the melodies...
To be completely honest, I haven't heard enough of them since they beacme a trio...but what I have heard does seem "less" than when they were a quartet. Oh well...
Remi had the best voice, opera, strong and solid. Now they sound like the Supremes
Remi's voice was the strongest of the 4. His vocal range is superior to these choir boys. I've heard the kids sounding better singing through an empty wrapping paper roll!

Over the years I've come to hate this song a lot! Doesn't matter who sings it either. When a nurse has to work shifts, she has to wait her turn for seniority! Seniority my highnee! I can only recall being home with my family twice and then have to listen to this song??? I don't think so! We get what we deserve!
Just say no to "hang a shining star upon the highest bough". That is the litmus tests of good versions of this song.
