Clare O’Reilly is taking a stand against our beauty-obsessed culture and vowing to never tell her daughter she’s beautiful, stunning or even pretty. She’s worried about the focus on her daughter Annie’s physical appearance, and what that might do to her sense of self as she grows up. But could her refusal to praise her little girl for her looks at all have an impact later on in life?

All children should know that they are ALSO beautiful.
Hello!
Physically?
Every girl and woman in the world needs to feel beautiful! Of course, it’s not all that matters but we love to feel beautiful! 💖 I think there has to be a balance in everything! Beauty is not everything and certainly there’s too much emphasis on it nowadays but also we need to feel beautiful as women. And that doesn’t mean perfection or plastic surgery or anything like that. Just accept ourselves completely, including how we look and love ourselves.
When she gets older, she will get dupe by a man who makes her beautiful since her mum undermines her. No matter how many people tell her how good she looks, if her mum doesn't reinforce that, she will grow up believing she's not pretty. She's grooming her to be insecure. Poor girl.
