As a father who's kids' mother has seen the bottom of a bourbon glass more than she has seen her kids, I can tell you that fathers can be kind, caring, nuturing and everthing else a loving mother should be, but I'm very proud to be called Dad and even prouder to be my kids' Father.

My mother died when I was two years old. My gran and aunt looked after me, because my father knew he could not be my mother. He was a wonderful father.
In a nutshell, a mother and a father can both nurture a child and that is called parenting but the mother is always a biological female who can give birth and breastfeed a child, something that a father, a biological male, can never do.

Yes I could assume what my daughter was going through during puberty. Could go buy tampons etc,etc but I never knew what was going on inside her. I became a single Mom when my kids were 12 and 14. Their Dad wasn't around much by his own choice. I have 1 of each. One time my son was upset about something and I was trying to understand him. I finally said to him "I was never a teenage boy so I don't know what it feels like to be a teenage boy". For some reason it seemed to work.

I lost my wife to cancer, a tragic loss to our three young children. I was left to bring up our children but i would never ever be able to replace their mother and would not disrespect her by saying i could.
On a primal level, nurturing goes deeper for mothers with their young; it's a part of her biological wiring. This is the case in almost every species of female in every part of nature. It doesn't mean fathers can't nurture too, but they will never be mothers just like mothers will never be fathers. You don't need any certificate, degree, or class in formal education to understand this; just look around you and it's blatantly factual.

I've noticed that when a single mother FATHERS a boy; he will often resent her. That is not the way he understands parental treatment. Being a father includes being nurturing and caring.
On a primal level, nurturing goes deeper for mothers with their young; it's a part of her biological wiring. This is the case in almost every species of female in every part of nature. It doesn't mean fathers can't nurture too, but they will never be mothers just like mothers will never be fathers. You don't need any certificate, degree, or class in formal education to understand this; just look around you and it's blatantly factual.

This kills me inside my brain. I’ve raised my children speaking of my now 14 year old daughter. I can not teach my daughter in anyway how to be a lady or mother. However, I have taught her to be respectful of herself first and to build from the foundation I’ve induced into her ability to succeed. But I’m no mother.

This proposition is extremely sexist. All parents can be parents to their kids. However, thanks to the english language, some names gain gender specifics, like brother or sister. So being father is not different from being mother in sense of parenthood, is different because what gender you have. 'I am a man, but i can mother a kid.' This means 'I am a man, but i can be a female parent to a kid.'. Well just be a good parent. Caring, norturing, feeding a kid is parenthood, not motherhood.

I've noticed that when a single mother FATHERS a boy; he will often resent her. That is not the way he understands parental treatment. A man can tell a boy that he is not BEING a man but it seems the boy resents the same coming from a mother. She has to do it differently, motherly...to get the same result. Take a look at 100 single mother's sons and you'll see resentment in many cases.
Facts. Mothers have to do it differently than man. There things women can’t say and if they do it has to be a different way. There is man code respect.

you are contradicitng yourself here. SIngle parents have to and try to provide their kids with things normally provided by bother paretns HENCE they play the role of both. It does not change their gender, does not make them literal mothers or fathers. It, however, allows them to mother and father their kids at the same time. If a granmother raises her grandkid she also mothers that kid although she is not the mother, doesn't she?

Yes single parent will try to fill the other parent role, but they will never be perfect and never switch their role. Even a grandmother cannot be father when raising their grandkid, grandmother can only be mother
