if they couldn't even convey their motives and messages to the people they're close with and who understand them the best, then their agenda lacks conviction and rationality to some extent. How will they then be able to convince other people to lead a lifestyle they've chosen?
Food is an indulgence and a part of our culture which we can never let go of. There are a hundred different ways to control the climate crisis that include using only electric vehicles, carpooling, turning the vehicles for public transport electric, minimising the consumption of meat from a daily habit to weekly or monthly indulgence, and conserving forests.

My sister has cealiac disease which is live threatening, but she cannot go to most restaurants because they don’t do wheat free products. Her disease is not a choice, but there are plenty of vegan choices, which is a choice
Having a balanced diet is very important as any student in primary school will tell you, and as a medical professional, I see how pointless it all is to argue over superiority of diet.
Variety is the spice of life, and a little of everything goes a long way, which is why when ordering steak, I have a side of salad and greens.
To debunk the myth about animal cruelty, some animals are reared to be food, this is why we have farms, same way, we have farms for producing almonds and avocados.
So instead of being at each other's throats, I believe with a little bit of education and research, most of these arguments should be self evident.

She tried to give the $80+ free-range-organic-gluten free-home grown-lived a happy life-turkey that I prepared for thanksgiving a fucking FUNERAL. AFTER IT WAS COOKED AND PREPARED! Knowing fully that my family and friends were coming any minute and despite the fact that Every. Single. other food item that was being offered for the feast was vegan. I caught her just as she was putting it into a hole in the backyard and SHOVELING DIRT UPON IT…..seriously….. there were candles and flowers…I was LIVID WITH RAGE. She was immediately & severely evicted. I honestly have no idea what kept me from burying her. I am not a rich person by any means so I washed the turkey off, crisped it up again in the oven then poured gravy ( now named spite sauce ) over every damn food in sight so that Nothing was vegan. Oh man it was a glorious feast and we all had a great laugh about it. I put the carcass in the trunk of her car as a parting gift.

Plants do have developed defence mechanisms to prevent being eaten by herbivores. Plants use both chemical and physical changes much like animals have developed bases on the principal "survival of the fittest".

They say moral responsibility and god created animals not to be killed or eaten but to live with humans. They use the bible and god but didnt read the scriptures where god told noah he could eat animals for food and even gave moses the list if animals that were allowed to be eaten and which animals werent to be eaten and the animals we eat today were on the list of animals we could eat. There are exceptions with some cultures eating animals were arent supposed to eat.
The vegan food sold by chains like Gregg's and some of the food in supermarkets isn't the best vegan food. It's a start and anything is better than eating meat.
There is so much food on this earth. One doesn't have to eat animal products. There are so many alternatives. As for junk food, there's no such thing. It's either junk or food.

I was a vegan for a year; I lost teeth, got inflammatory issues, got osteoarthritis, shingles, lost muscles despite engaging on weight training, and worse of all my diabetes got worse.
I've been vegan for 4 years and many have been for decades, you have to commit and plan, consult doctors and dieticians if it doesn't work but don't give up on it so easily.
