Battle of Legends is honestly the most fun I have had in this game so far. As you said, teams are interesting and unique, but I am also doing extremely well after spending like a week on building a team that actually covers most things. Out of 17 Games, I have not lost a single one and am currently rank 2 in the entire thing. Makes me really wonder what the no.1 guy is doing. Oh and yeah, I have tried Coaching Urshifu, too, it is pretty great with a priority Copy Cat Pokemon like Liepard, so you can Coach your own Urshifu through Dyna Protect. Nobody expects that. :D
That Urshifu Coaching + Bulk Up works well with Power Trip Corviknight too. Used that set during first months of SwSh and with addition of Coaching move, it look so good now.
I agree, Gorilla Tactics is very strong. I like that Zen Mode doesn't have drawbacks for Galarian Darmanitan, unlike normal Darmanitan when it is pretty much unviable...
cool idea for a team, also playing off of Urshifu's protection breaking. Anger Point Krookodile. Wicked Blow is not very effective, so Krook wont do down in one hit. Now it has max attack and can sweep the opponent with ease. The variation that is honestly the most consistent is actually Unfezant. Scope Lens + Super Luck + Night Slash means guaranteed crit. It is also slightly faster than Krook(suprisingly enough), you can run max speed on both. One reason for this is that it can have Tailwind to fix Krookodile's speed against faster mons, is immune to earthquake itself, and can use a pretty strong brave bird(provided that it gets a crit) The issue with this setup is mainly Follow Me drawing the Night Slash away from Krook. A fix could be Barraskewda, but its not 100% to get the crit. Togekiss is not guaranteed even with its own super luck.
Instead of rock smash, which always has the crit chance, couldn’t this also be done by anything with infiltrator + a hp halving move like super fang? My first thought goes to Noivern

Zen Mode Galaritan is extremely good, in raids. Belly drum right into Icicle Crash or Flare Blitz can allow you to basically ignore shields if the raid mon is weak to either. Add superpower to round out coverage and it hits like a truck. I prefer Belly Drum Kommo-o for raids, but its fighting stab is basically the only thing I use in drain punch, so adding ice and fire to the coverage options for mons that damage through shields is nice. I could see Galarian Slowbro, Snorlax, or Azumaril also work for the belly drum strat, but they are pretty slow so they may not kill right away or may have to hit on a nonshield, which they don't want, but they do add Psychic, Poison, Water, Fairy, and I guess Normal coverage to the "shield ignorer" strat if you want it
You gotta love when an opponent with multiple legendaries rage quits because they can’t break through your tiny gastrodon with their Dmax mon XD So great that you made Zen Mode Galarian Darmanitan work, I love that pokemon! I messed around with it with salac berry, substitute and belly drum on it but obviously that’s way too setup heavy. thats how i feel with shell smash shuckle with contrary until I get hit with a taunt before some setup or a crit after setup it can weather pretty much anything else especially if your playing the really long game and hell it can even survive crits if on higher health though sadly usually not boosted crits since its hp is just too low

Another good way to play zen mode is with redirecting moves and belly drum since it cuts you strait to range of mode and maxes your atrack plus still having a item use
I exclusively run Zen Mode Darm hes very underrated. Belly Drum and Follow me in doubles followed by Dynamax Togekiss is best Synergy imo. Follow Me, Bulky, and Tailwind and ally swap
Cool strategy! I might have a way to improve it: Aura Sphere over Rock Smash on Urshifu. With only 12 SpAtk EVs, you are guaranteed to do 50% with that Aura Sphere (87.5% with 0 SpAtk EVs) so that gives your Darmanitan a bit more HP to deal with the opponent's hits
In VGC, focus sash Zen Mode Galarian Darmanitan is pretty good. I saw Vizually use it. He kinda used zen mode as a bonus effect and never tried to activate it

I've been trying to make a team based around targeting a contrary Lurantis with Octolock. Wondering if you have any thoughts/ideas about this. So it's kind of a lose/lose.
Yeah and they are both weak to flying attacks which are very common because Max Airstream is so good. I really like the concept though! Maybe with the right support it could work
I've tried this with both Lurantis and Malamar, and I have to say Malamar performed better in almost every way. Lurantis is so slow which is unfortunate. I wish Serperior was here =(((. What I did is I used a Meowstic to give Grapploct Prankster. Since Malamar dont have a recovery option I run Chesto Resto, when dynamaxed it's really hard to take down. While the opponent is trying to take down Malamar I use Prankster Soak to turn some threats to water type so Rillaboom could clean up late-game. But now Rillaboom's banned so...

Also why is Urshifu counted as a legend? It's stats are similar to arcanine, volcarona, togekiss etc. They are also very close to the starters. I don't think it is fair to put it and mons like Zacian and Mewtwo in the same ball park.

If it doesn't lose the Zen Mode form, then you could give it Serene Grace to double the trigger chances for the additional effects of the damage moves in its moveset while in Zen Mode as an example. P.S. Do you honestly think Merciless sounds more like an ability for dark type Pokémon that increases the damage of dark type moves if the target has less than its max HP?
That wouldn't produce the results that are seen in the video since belly drum wouldn't set off the weakness policy and darmanitan would be vulnerable for a turn. Belly drum is better in singles where you can't set off your own weakness policy and can't be double targeted (and where dynamax is banned if it's showdown)
Using this ability got me flamed to hell in my first SwSh online battle. The Pokemon community is definitely very cool. Not as cool as this mon though. I love it.
