Hello. It's not much but back in gen 6, 2015 I won a premier challenge and reached top 8 in Lima, Perú regionals with Darmanitan. PC: Darmanitan, Togekiss, Escavalier, Abomasnow, Jellicent, Kangaskhan Regionals: Darmanitan, Togekiss, Escavalier, Abomasnow, Jellicent, Scrafty Darmanitan @ Life Orb Ability: Sheer Force Level: 50 EVs: 28 HP / 252 Atk / 228 Spe Adamant Nature - Flare Blitz - Rock Slide - Superpower - Protect That's not the exact EV spread, that distribution allowed to be faster than Landorus T by 1 point (adamant variants that were pretty common). He was the star of the team along side the hail-room strat that worked really well back when CHALK was everywhere (baring heatran but i had my ways) One of Darmanitan's biggest feats was OHKOing Charizard Y at -3 and pretty much erase anything with neutral flare blitz.
Here's what I came up with for a fan game I'm planning out: -Standard Mode Darmanitan's Defense and Special Defense are boosted from 55 each to 85 each, thereby bringing its BST up to 540, same as Zen Mode. -Zen Mode Darmanitan is turned into a fully separate form of Darmanitan (like the Lycanroc Forms), which evolves from Darumaka with Inner Focus. I mean, you need an Inner Focus Darumaka to get a Zen Mode Darmanitan anyway, so... Plus, this way you aren't stuck with a half-health tank that can't recover health without losing its tankiness. I feel like this would be leagues better for the poor ape than what it has now. Still need to figure out which abilities to give Zen Mode Darm now that it can't have Zen Mode anymore, though. Then again, I could just come up with a new effect for Zen Mode... For those who might be wondering, Standard Darm's new hidden ability would be Anger Point.
To be fair, to do that they had to make it a legendary in all but classification. An overpowered ability at least for it, a neat movepool, a typing that reflects the role it can take, and high BST. That’s how bad the Ice type is.
@@iantaakalla8180 Ice type isn't really a bad offensive typing. It's pretty good for what it can do. The problem is that it sucks ass defensive wise. Zero resistances and 4 weaknesses with the majority of ice type mons being defensive. How on earth did they did they think that is a good idea.
They always think it’s a good idea unless they want to reference a monster, because the idea is that ice in nature/glaciers move slowly, and life in icy tundra also are fairly slow and not as bustling as forests. A few are yokai (those embodying wind, icicle/ice cream tsukogami, the beautiful but somewhat cruel protector of a mountain), possibly a pangolin that doesn’t look like a pangolin, Galarian Darmanitan is a yeti, and Mamoswine is literally a cross between a mammoth and a pig. If the Arcto- fossils counts, they’re also monsters in the sense that they are chimeras, like ancient Greeks thought of manticores, just to reference questionable archaeological practices. And while Glastrier is a horse it could easily be like a Horse of the Apocalypse, and therefore represent a monstrous fate. Yes, there are other monstrous Ice types but those that are always considered good no matter what tend to based off of monsters, for there doesn’t seem to be much ice that is naturally found in nature or concepts of ice that are fast. Ice literally cannot be good because of designing logic.
I usually run zen mode, sub + belly drum on Galarian darm. Since unlike with unovan, Galarian zen mode boosts the already monstrous attack stat AND boosts speed. Couple that with stab ice or fire punch and body slam for reliable neutral damage, and suddenly you've got one of the strongest sweepers in Pokémon. The only problem is actually being able to set up. But if you can do that, then you're pretty much guaranteed to sweep. And give it a salac berry for good measure.
Unovan and Galarian Darmanitan can certainly destroy nearly every opponent in the games but certainly can’t handle taking a hit. A 140 attack stat is nothing to joke about but a 55 defense stat is immensely pitiful for a Pokémon who hits like a semi truck but crumbles like paper.

Darmanitan’s greatest appearance is as “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH” on FSG writer BKC’s amazing sun team of the same name.
No
that sun team sure does make for some good c o n t e n t
That sun team actually is one of BKC's most memorable teams, flare blitz spam with the monkeys and v create on victini, pure destruction
Daramnitan sorta looks like AAAAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!! in trollhunters
Like a smogon player pointed out before that thing was eventually the first non-legendary ice type banned: "The hability is called gorilla tactics because even a gorilla can lead with G-Darmanitan's U-Turn".
why brain when can mash
Before Gen 8 there was only two ice types ever made to Uber
Kyurem-White and Arceus-Ice
Now in Gen 8
Kyurem
Kyurem-White
Kyurem-Black
Calyrex-Ice
G-Darmanitan
Also in Gen 6, Kyurem was RUBL
Who else was RUBL?
Venomoth, VENOMOTH
Literally the term “Unga Bunga” as a Pokemon, this beast is powerful
mash flare blitz
Unga Bunga Blitz!
Honestly I love atleast regular Darmanitan for it.
It just gets so much character by being a brainless brute right down to the gameplay

Zen Mode Galarian Darmanitan is when a nice guy loses his temper
And he is meant to be in his “Zen Mode”- how ironic...
Fun fact: in Japanese, Zen Mode is Daruma Mode. Daruma refers to a doll, which is why Unovan Darmanitan takes that pose in Zen Mode.
It also makes Galarian Darmanitan’s Zen Mode make more sense, for it turning into a snowman/yukidaruma means that it is still a Daruma mode.
it's more like when someone with anger issues uses cocaine
More like an ice guy
Mega Medicham: *staggeringly high attack stat*
Galarian Darm: *"hold my beer."*
Darmanitan: "I was pretty heated about my ranking, but then I cooled off and things got better."
Darmanitan in gen 5: 🔥 😤
Darmanitan in gen 8: 🧊 🥶
Ay where is the fire my guy is a fire ice type that ice burns you inside
Unovan Darmanitan (any ability): I'm too weak...
Galarian Darmanitan (with Zen Mode): *UNLIMITED POWER*

Hey guys, I just wanted to tell y’all that thanks tp you, I have improved my english a lot (i’m not a native speaker), and I’ve been using a lot of the words you use for essays at school. Keep up the good work, you are the best!!
If you use "monke" in an essay please post updates
good luck! you can do it!
This just in: teachers confused as to why foreigner uses alliterations in every other sentence
It's the same for me not too much but it did
Yay for you, my dude.
Waiting for the day that Slaking gets Gorilla Tactics as a hidden ability
It would be better regigigas pretty much
I know your kidding but he's a sloth. So really he allready has sloth tactics
That would be way to op....
So let’s do it
Nah let's give him Huge Power instead of Gorilla tactics : )

When i was playing through pokemon black and white as a kid and I got a darmanitan for the first time I kept wondering how to activate its zen form only to find out later that it was an ability you actually had to get first xd
i love how all because of an alternate form that it doesn't even use, it got to keep its fire moves despite being an ice type.
Meanwhile the legendary birds lost all moves of their original type
