Wow, Dani, your tips could be a game changer for my elusive front split! Will definitely incorporate them in my daily stretch to close in that gap. Thanks for your inspiring wisdom!
Best of luck! (Although P.S. I don't actually recommend stretching the same muscle group every day, that would likely be overtraining and folks generally see *more* progress if you incorporate rest days into your training. You can check out this blog post for more info: www.daniwinksflexibility.com/bendy-blog/how-to-maximize-progress-best-practices-for-flexibility-training)
@@DaniWinksFlexibility Will def take your advice, & give it a rest like I do other muscle group. Sometimes, we just get in a hurry to reach that goal, & go gungho. Thanks so much !
How do I know when I can allow my front thigh to make contact with the ground while maintaining square hips? I feel like when i go lower, my hips may come out of alignment. Tucking back tows does help this. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for sharing the tips! I m a 40 yr old man, practising front split for more than 7 months.. about 3 inches away from the ground. Hope your tips will help me to close the gap😙
Hi Danny, I just found out about your channel and website. I'm really having a hard time getting my front split completely on the ground. I've been trying for almost 2 years now, and although I've seen progress, I'd like to finally make it. Which program from your library would you recommend? My hamstrings are approximately 1 inch away from the ground
Thank you for this helpful video Dani! Since the last lockdown, I got so close but stopped progressing for months. I never managed to find a video to troubleshoot this and now I’m so excited to discover your tips. I haven’t managed to close my splits in this single session (though it’s great to hear it’s possible) but I do feel better! I’ll keep going
So many! Practicing next to or between two chairs and resting your hands on the seats of the chairs works great. I've also seen students just use random sturdy boxes they have lying around, foam rollers, stacks of books - really you can use just about anything sturdy under your hands
Since two years i feel im close to front split but stick coz middle split seem impossible for me i have bone to bone problem...i discover it when i dont middle kick ir high kick ...is it possible to ger front split and not middle?
Sure is, most people find front splits easier than middle splits (but not all!). I suggest checking out this recent blog post I wrote if you think you might have a bone limitation in your middle splits: www.daniwinksflexibility.com/bendy-blog/hip-anatomy-for-middle-splits
@@DaniWinksFlexibility i m trying get middle split for high kick..my kick is better but dont go high i feel pain when bone stroke bone ...it mean i dont get middle split but i want deeper more coz iam about 40 or 50 cm from ground. I’m a guy, my hamstring are pretty flexible but I’d say my hips are around 4-6 inches off the ground and my back leg isn’t extended. Is it possible to do the splits with my anatomy?
There's no way for me to know whether you have "the anatomy" to be able to do the splits. I'm actually unaware of any anatomical limitations that would prevent people from getting the front splits (although I wouldn't be surprised if there were some unique cases). Most commonly cited is a condition called Coxa Vara that can prevent people from getting flat middle splits, but that is INCREDIBLY rare (as in
@@DaniWinksFlexibility ok thanks, yeah I’m familiar with coxa vara, I was just wondering because someone told me that it might not be possible because of my pelvis but I wasn’t sure if that was accurate or not. I’d assume if I stretch my hip flexors and quads for a couple weeks I could get it

if i stretch every day and im like 1-2 inches away from my splits can i get my splits in like a week? hopefully less days
What if we don't have blocks :( can we use something else? Any suggestion please

What is purpose of having a yoga block under the backfoot for the hip flexor stretch?
It increases the hip flexor stretch when you lift your knee (by pressing the foot into the block)
