Schöner Versand mit dem Flatrack. Dann kann man auch die Probleme mit dem Inhalt der Fahrzeuge außer Acht lassen. Versand ist ja nur möglich ansonsten über Antwerpen. Aber was ich nicht verstehe, wieso wierden die Fahrzeuge auf solche eine Schute verladen und nicht auf ein großes Schiff, weil bis nach Chile werden die wohl nicht gehen. Bitte klärt mich auf !

schätze mal weil es günstiger war? Bei Containern bzw. Seefracht kommt es nicht immer auf die länge der Route an. Ein normaler 40 Fuß Container von Hamburg nach Chile kostet ca. 1500 Dollar, zurück nur etwa die Hälfte. Lissabon ist ja eigentlich ne kürzere Strecke. Da kostet ein 40 Fuß Container nach Chile ca. 1800 Dollar, zurück etwa 1200 Dollar. Aber die Preise und die Reisezeit schwanken schon sehr, je nach Auslastung und Nachfrage. So ca. 30 Tage kann man im Schnitt rechnen HH-Chile, da die Schiffe ja mehrere Zwischenstopps einlegen zum Be-und Endlanden.
Zoll, Versicherung und Hafengebühr kommt allerdings noch drauf. Dazu noch der Transport zum Hafen wenn man ihn braucht.

Warum verschifft ihr nach Chile und nicht nach Uruguay? Und hätte diese neue Vorschrift (leerer LKW) auch für Uruguay gegolten? Ich bin schon gespannt auf eure Reise in Südamerika! Danke fürs mitnehmen!
@@martinahackstock1917 das ist keine neue Vorschrift die gibt es schon sehr lange. Liegt an der Versicherung, dem Reeder, Hafen und dem Zoll. Da solche Camper gerne mal aufgeknackt werden, sei es auf dem Schiff oder im Hafengelände, versichert den Inhalt keiner mehr und "leere" Camper werden nicht aufgeknackt. Allerdings würde der Hafen, der Reeder oder deine Transportversicherung für den Schaden am Auto aufkommen müssen, welchen der Einbrecher verursacht hat. Für den Zoll ist es natürlich einfacher ein "leeres" KFZ zu durchsuchen.
Bei geschlossenen Containern kannst alles reinstopfen, da die verschlossen und verplombt sind. Da sieht der Gelegenheitsdieb auch von aussen nicht was drin ist. Da den richtigen Container mit den teueren Laptops zu erwischen wäre reine Glücksache und zu aufwändig.
Wahrscheinlich war Chile günstiger wie nach Uruguay. Kommt bei Seefracht nicht immer auf die Distanz an, eher auf die Auslastung der Strecke.

Interesting report, but it lacks the main information: How much does this RORO shipping cost, and how much does it cost for flat rack?
Please ask www.caravanshippers.com for exact pricing… generally RoRo, roll on roll of, is cheaper than the other types of shipping…it all depends on a lot of things like type of shipping, size and weight of vehicle, from to where, container pricing varies throughout times, etc. etc..

Did they really pick up your truck with a forklift from underneath? I would be concerned with damage.
Yes, but the driver, in this case me is there and they only touch the tires of course … and the moment they are working on or with the truck it is all insured 🍀😉

Yes, that’s another good reason to live in an expedition vehicle the last 8 years… electricity from the sun… saving water 💦 wherever we can and heating almost never needed but included in the set up in this tiny space…shipping the truck every 4-5 years vs. flying to holidays 1-3 times a year as a a family might be the similar or even less as well … so yes, definitely considered and less than living in a house all our life for sure!
But either way we are glad that almost each individual on our planet 🌎 can choose in our times how to live their life.
